Classy, classy interview....it didn't hurt that he played a really solid final round but generous of praise for Fitzpatrick, zero bitterness, and just a great rep for the game.

Scottie has completely won me over. He’s so modest and well spoken. He keeps complimenting Fitzpatrick in this interview even though he knows he could have easily won this tournament. Plus he’s a damn good player. Great role model for any golfer 🤠🤘

Not sure he could have easily won it. The scoreboard says he didn’t score well enough.

Really got to like this man. Class act and a bright, humble guy and damn he just keeps being there or there abouts. Relentless. I have to keep reminding myself he's just 25 years old.

As a 60yr old golf fan, I have to say this is a seminal moment in golf history. Scottie will go FAR in PGA history.

Very mature head on him for a young lad

I love Scottie and he is a super talent. He is up there in the hunt just about every tournament he plays in. It did seem that on both Saturday amd Sunday he lost focus for a number of holes just when it seemed he was about to take a nice lead. Even then he finished just 1 stroke out of the lead. He has a great attitude and because he he just keeps playing without a lot of stress, it seems likely he will be competing near the top for years to come.

Got to love Scottie's attitude and turn of phrase. Hope to see more majors come his way in the future.

Unfortunately he will only have one major when it’s all said & done.

Fitzpatrick's bunker shot on the 18th was championship winning through and through, He could done a lay up or hit to the side of the green or any other shot but he went for hole and went for a cut and that is the tiny difference between winning and losing at the end of the day. He went for everything and when a player makes those championship decisions there is nothing the field can do. Well done to all.

Scottie finished second in a major. He has a major. Jack finished second in 19 majors and won 18 majors. This shows how hard it is to win a major. A regular tournament is a simple cavity. A major is a root canal. Scottie is gonna get more. But their is no guarantee of greatness. Too many potential greats like Spieth Rory DJ never made that level.

Imagine Ben Hogan, The Hawk, answering these silly questions.
Press: Did the cheers from the group behind you affect you?"
    Hogan: What cheers?
Press: Do you feel like, woulda, shoulda, coulda?
Hogan: You can't be serious. Next
Press: One shot short, but are there any positives from this week?
Hogan: Yes, I'm the best ball striker of all time.
Press: You won the Masters, but what is it like trying to win the US Open?
Hogan: No different. Every tournament is important to me, every one of them. My goal is to win no matter what the tournament.

Unfortunately the record books don't show 'could have', 'should have', 'might have' and 'may have', only 'did'.

Maybe, but at the same time Fitzpatrick missed 4 easy putts that he would normally make.
