a shop wanted to charge me $600ish to do it while keeping my car for a few days. you literally explained it in a few steps, all while sitting in the front seat, and only having to remove 2 things. i appreciate the video!
Bro same thing happened to my Jetta. Same damn button and they wanted to charge me $1000 for the whole assembly. It’s only the button!! LOL The button broke at the same exact spot too. Thanks for the video!
The button should look the same for the TDI as well, correct? I've found some that the thread column extends a little beyond the bottom of the button, but it looks similar
@@YodamboY Thank you! I guess VW doesn't sell the button separately and the MK7 has a plethora of buttons on Amazon, so it's been the struggle to say the least

Thanks for the great instructions! Got it all taken apart and waiting for the button to arrive in the mail. Much appreciated!

Where did you order the button from? I can’t seem to search the right words to find it and I don’t want to pay 200 bucks for the whole assembly
you have to turn it or put pressure on it
Probably wouldn’t help since the button is blowing off because of the heat and the spring load on it.
Thank you!!
Your welcome!
Thank you

Yeah they all look similar but some might not be the same color.

Thanks man, the only video on RUclips for the mk6 that explains how to only change cover and button.
@@Juan6mendoza Your welcome!!
Can you glue it back on if the inside of the button isn’t broken?
