Wirbel the MVP of the episode. Took what would normally be the arrogant jerk character and made a likeable mage with good depth and motivations. Ubel's observation about personal magic revealing a persons character is interesting when you look at hers, invisible slashes that aren't meant to kill in one shot which lets her take her time and enjoy the killing more.
Yes, I really liked the twist because I didn't expect this at all! His appearance, attitude and words totally deceived me, I guess. Instead he turned out to be a man with his own morals about killing and who still keeps his humanity intact (and secretly a softie too😂) Props to Frieren for always being able to reverse your expectations and surprise you, just like they did with Stark when he first appeared.
Her slashes can absolutely kill in one shot xD. But she has another ability which, if her logic about magic specialties reflecting the personality of the castor is true, says she is more than just a cold hearted killer
I like the detail that Wirbel's combat experience allows him to identify a gleeful murderer like Ubel. It's scary how he recognises that her going for his eyes meant she would be better able to prolong his suffering and kill him. But even knowing that, it took a lot of time for him to muster up the resolve to kill her.
Richter wants to kills just one of the girls, because that would eliminate the entire team, while if he does what Denken suggests they would have to defeat all three of them, since even if they knocked one of the girls out the others would still be able to win. I do like Denken saying that the title is not worth killing someone. And he is old, he won't have many more chances to get this title, while Richter could certainly make multiple more attempts.
Denken: I just want to practice with Fulian before I fight Mahat to see how big the gap is between me and them. But my stupid companion wants me to die. I'm afraid he doesn't understand the value of the magic user who defeated the Demon King.😅
(I'm a manga reader and currently on the latest chapter) What a lovely episode I really did love all of the interesting discussion and interaction in it. Like some of the guys where not cold hearted dudes especially Wirbel and Denken. As Wirbel seems like he could be a psycho but he is actually a sweetheart deep down. Just fighting demons and protecting the northern lands so that his old love interest. Could one day return to him as her family moved away out of security concerns. But he still is able to kill anyone including women and children if he really needs too. Which makes his morality so much more complex. Also seeing how the northern lands sometimes use child soldiers was pretty brutal. Then we had Denken who As he deemed that unnecessary unlike his teammate. He thought that just putting them under a sleep spell would be enough. So despite Denken seeming very cold and calculating he still care about the life of other people and Denken is the best characters so far in Frieren season you guys will love that Old man But then I also loved seeing the magic used in this episode as well. Like how Fern overwhelmed Ehme with her magical blasts until she could not take it anymore. And Land don't sleep on that man he's the Goat and I don't want to spoil anything but Land is not there on the entire examination he's in his home town chilling having tea while his clone do all the work 💀. That's First class mage potential right there and also Übel she's a beast but cares about land very much.
It would make sense to kill one member of a party you stole a stille from because it would mean they no longer have a reason to come after you whereas if you leave them all alive you are likely to have to face them again when they come to reclaim the bird. It would be a particularly bad idea because Frieren is a member of that party. They are vaguely aware of just how powerful she is since she is the mage from the Legendary Hero's party. Even if both girls were put out of commission for the rest of the test via sleep or some other means, Frieren alone would still pose a massive threat.
Serie is crazy old, just look at the opening where she's basically walking through the eras. She starts out wearing very tribal looking gear and all the silhouettes are elves. Serie is from the ancient time of elves when they were thriving and she walks forward towards the era of humans. She could be double or even triple Frieren's age even if she doesn't look all that mature compared to somebody like Kraft though her proportions and face make it hard to say. I guess female elves are much more petite naturally than males like Kraft but just putting Serie besides Frieren you can see she's probably older. Even being over 1000 years old, Frieren still looks like an adolescent and looked like a child when she met Flamme so was likely very young at that time.
The difference between an elf like Kraft and Frieren/Serie is also the thing they specialize in. Kraft is a physical fighter, so obviously his body has to be trained and muscles make one look bigger and also become bigger than they would be normally, while Frieren and Serie are mages, they have no need to get physical training when they can use magic. In Frieren’s flashback it looked like the other elves there were smaller than Kraft, so I don’t know if it’s necessarily a difference between the genders 🤔
Hated how Richter seems perfectly fine with killing those 2 girls, especially considering he apparently has magic that enables to knock them out without murder! I'd even say he's more messed up than Ubel. Denken on the other hand surprised me. Thought he'd be the one who doesn't care about morals due to old age. Also, I wonder why some people assume Frieren will easily beat this guy. Remember, Frieren in her lifetime lost 11 times, 6 of which were against humans. That fact alone changed my POV on Frieren. She's not an invulnerable MC and she may end up losing here.

Yeah, Fern Spells are lethal after all, if her opponent fail to block die, even if Fern didn't actually want that. Considering that winning without killing in that conditions is really hard Fern is way better than the other girl.
Nothing about Fern in the last 20 episodes has made it seem like she would be even remotely okay with killing a human being, especially one who isn't outright evil, under any circumstances if she could take any steps at all of her own avoid it, which she almost certainly is capable of taking. I can't understand how anyone watching would believe her saying that for even a single second. Like it's genuinely baffling to me.

Why lol. Fern's not cruel or bloodthirsty. Throughout anime she's always the one persuading Frieren to help humans. Yes she lacks emotions but she's a gentle child, she would never kill someone in cold blood.

I would say his reason insisting killing one of the girls is cruel but quite rational in this situation. Caz if not talk about if it's worth or not just talk about way to win, the chance to win Frieren's team without killing those 2 girls basically 0 As now they all know this elf is Frieren the great mage, He literally can't sure Daken, (who in fact already super strong) can deal with her so long. If he choose just letting the 2 girls sleep over, it's a high probability Frieren's gonna beat him up after Daken shortly, and chase the girl now escaping in a min, which in fact a piece of cake to Frieren.

The first one is “The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pickup Trash”. This anime will make your heart ❤️ skip a beat. It’s a beautiful roller coaster of emotion. It’s base on a light novel. I give it a 9.0. The second one is “The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic” it’s a fun hero type show. I give it a 8 first 3 episodes, however episode 3 was a 10.0!
1:39 ubel seems strong, the way she's attacking him while just walking towards him , 1:58 - 2:25 but fern is still op.. lol 😁. and 11:19 that girl laufen, is fast as hell (I don't know who faster the stille or her). And imo I like denken, wirbel , ehre , scharf , and land. they're great characters so far..!( also , btw 10:44 I ship these two as well !😊) 8:25 also the way The guy land took down his opponent at the start of the battle, was smart thinking.
Weird that in that mercenary's flash back an army sent in an army of children and women to demoralize, their opponent I assume. Cuz even if its seen as more cowardly or something, actual medieval and early modern armies had little problem with killing women and children.

I believe in ep. 3 or 4 Frieren mentioned even she did not live that long tracing back all the way to the mythic era. We know that it is the era when the goddess was still active in the world, and this episode hinted that Serie was born either in or at least close to that era. She lived far longer than Frieren, no way she would have lesser mana.

It's not heavily suggested, we don't know who is older. Amd can we stop conversing these Elfs to human?? Frieren is not a child, she's a grown woman; she just has a petit body type, I highly doubt she'll ever grow taller or become more curvy
In the manga, Serie herself directly states she is a Great Mage born and raised in the Mythic Era of the world. Which means she must be unfathomly old, we're talking hundreds of thousands of years old. We don't know exactly how old Kraft is but I seriously doubt he's older than Serie.

The reason I say that is because Frieren defeated a Demon General even before Flamme found her, and Frieren is NOT an anime where kids acquire magic skills overnight; we've seen that Fern had to train obsessively from the ages of 8 to 18 to get where she is. The idea of a teenage elf taking down a demon is ludicrious.
