Well as I thought it would be, with with a similar grain pellet BSA Max 21,75 I checked chrono almost 30 fte (footpounds of energy). Meaning that the airguns can shoot slugs just fine but unfortunately they aren't build for slugs... But any1 can shoot heave aerodynamic pellets which will do almost the same job for long distances. Lucky us that we live in an era that there are plenty of different pellets with sizes and weights that differ.
For sure. I know a lot of manufacturers kind of act like they can't improve break barrels anymore but, I don't think so. They can definitely improve barrels. Just like for pcp's. I would some really nice laminate stocks. Always engineer stronger pistons . Can improve recoil and breaking leverage.. I feel it's wide open stil
Gamo Gen3 Magnum here.. shooting 28 grain slugs here.. it kicks harder, feels different, obviously slower, but Loud Wack!, Wow! Diesel experiments to follow.. many ideas on Deeze materials!
I have often wondered/thought that the higher powered magnum break barrels would have the power to move slugs (here in the UK we have 12ft lbs limit - which is just not enough pressure/power to move 20+ grain slugs. When I tried them in mine you can literally see the slug start dipping quite considerably after 15 yards ). Glad you made the effort to put through chrony as well. Thumbs up!
Thanks John . Yes it definitely takes speed from my experience with slugs. As the slugs got heavier and sowed sown, they were everywhere. 12 ft lbs makes it hard for sure. I wonder if you could find a lighter slug for a .177 and have some luck ?

Nice video, found it looking for breakbarrel slug shooting for my daisy 880 😂 Nice video ! I have the same gamo bbarrel rifle in 22 and wanted to try the H&N 13 gr slugs in 177 for my new daisy 880. The Daisy shoots perfect whit the 13 grain slugs! I love them over my cheap ligth pallets. The penetration on cans&wood is unbelievebel😂 The gamo will ablitorate the targets im sure. Now i can try the gamo on 100 meters and see if i can get groups. Last time the jumbo heavy's were all over the place becose less weigth and bad BC

Totally agree.. id rather find out for myself as well.. i will say from my experience, the lighter slugs seem to work best. I think it boils down to them needing more speed. But , you stil never know what will work . Thanks for watching

Seems that that Gamo like slugs more than they like pellets. I tried H&N slugs in 177 in my HW97K and it works perfect. It takes some pressure to push them in the barel. Don't understand that H&N says for PCP only. Thanks for showing!
Ya know , even though slugs typically have a better coefficient than typical pellets , i think they need higher velocities from .22's and .177's break barrel wise to shoot well.. as the slugs got heavier and slowed down , they were everywhere.. im going to get a bunch of different weight slugs here soon and really explore this area.. @@thebreakbarrelshow Hi. That will be interesting to see mate. I tried only 177 H&N in my HW97 that gives 945 fps with a JSB 8.44gr. pellet. I dit not measure the speed from the slug yet. Have to buy a new Chronograph because i killed it....😥 Cheers!

Size wise visually i cant tell the difference with the crosmans. Ive used slugs up to 30 gr and they fit with ease. My experience with my Gamos is they dont care for heavy ammo. 22 gr did very well but 25, 27 and 30 gr slugs did not. Power was decent but accuracy was not good at all . I would look for slugs 21gr and under honestly.. Thanks for watching !
Who are these, "everyone says?" It seems to me "they" are always wrong. Not only are you using slugs, but you're using a bipod that "everyone says" don't work at all with break barrels and underlevers. 😊😂😂😂 Good video my dude!!!!

Oh trust me i have a whole notebook full of chrono date with , Velocity , wind speed and direction , Temperature , pellet size , weight , pellet design.. Probably over kill but it does , in time paint a great picture. Thank you for watching.
The only issue with mine is the heavier they get , the less accurate they are. But that's kind of a Gamo thing from my experience. They don't really like heavy pellets

@negusballistics1110 yes , I hate shooting with out them. However with the recoil , they shake loose after a ton of shots. They bipods , not the rails . A little locktite will fix that.

I see these listed as .217 or .218, are these the standard ballpark dimensions of other 22 like the Rabbit Magnum and Gamo Round Ball? Looking for alternative ammo for my NAA Super Companion .22 cap and ball revolver and the copper rabbit mags look interesting.
Pellet wise i believe it can range from .215 to .218.. i also believe may be small for your revolver BUT, im not too well versed in powder burning guns so i really cant say. I apologize..

I wanted to ask you my friend what grains HP slugs were they? So I can calculate the power output. Since the barrels in these guns are quite choked, the power I have noticed with my Gamo is less.

I would definitely give at least the lighter slugs a shot. In my experience gamo rifles dont really like heavy pellets/slugs but , they come alive big time with lighter to medium weights.

You do an ear shot , then i definitely agree. Head on between the eyes i would have to go with a hornet . Just because that brass tip needed to split those thick skulls. Id be very confident with both.
@@thebreakbarrelshow I just ordered 20 caliber slugs for my old Sheridan, (The original Sheridan ammo was closer to a slug than a pellet, and the pellets don't track very well, , , not accurate, tumble, etc) my first job is to take 2 thousandths off of the diameter to see how they work.

I got he 14.9 grain from Nielsen Specialty Ammo (it was the smaller slug and almost the same weight as the original yellow-box Sheridan, not the bigger if you look at the website) They were a little tough loading, they stick when trying to put the bolt into position, but they go in. they track straight and are VERY accurate at 20 yards. only three pumps. I was not bench rested, and I have to sight the gun in, but I trust these for a clean job on a squirrel....one shot will do it. I think you will be happy if you try them. Best of succcess
I live in the UK, where the laws are very strict but it is interesting to know the possible power I could achieve if I wanted to. but do doesn't matter what people say too many native people anyway.
Oh, and no one else has done a video on dieseling air rifles using slugs you would be first I'm not sure it would work I know pellets work fine but it would be interesting.
I use Discovery Optics on all my guns. Good price , glass is really good. They also have several different reticles i love. So far after a few years on all my magnums , ive never had an issue.. Check out airgun optics plus..

I didnt know there were lots of cool slugs out there until after I bought a bunch of pellets. I want to get slugs to try.

Yes, my break barrel up to now no problems almost 7000 shots fired already .
Number each shot and write the Velocity of each shot on the target it may give you some useful info .

I just grabbed two picatinny rails and glued and screwed them to the side . Then just find some aide mount bipods.. amazon is where i go

What kind of bipod setup are you using? Will it fit on Gamo 10x Gen2 .22?
All it is , is 2 picatinny rails and side mound bipod legs.. it will work on any rifle as far as I know.
I have GAMO Hunter 1250 Grizzly Pro IGT MACH 1 5.5mm air rifle. Would in your opinion it handle slugs well?

I noticed that HBT puts out 22 caliber slugs that are slightly undersized, at .217", I think they make a .218 also, have you tried those yet ?
