David Munrow's recording of dances from Michael Praetorius' Terpsichore can be heard on my Classical channel here: ruclips.net/video/zFQ3TFDKy58/видео.html
Thanks for you comments! I now have a Classical channel and I plan to put up some more of David Munrow's reocrdings on that in the near future. ruclips.net/channel/UCoOiV11be6CgesXPN40EPKQvideos
Looks like this album, the "Dances from Terpsichore" from the Praetorius album (not, unfortunately, the other side with the splendid "Erhalt uns Herr" etc. Not sure of the provenance of the rest.
Ditto Ditto Ditto. Such a genius and incredible arranger/performer taken so young. I've always wondered what led to the suicide of this beautiful and exceptionally talented man.
I have this album and love it. I had the privilege of seeing David Munroe in London and can remember him playing his instruments with his whole body involved. His enthusiasm comes over clearly in this record.
Thanks for your comments Ian. David Munrow's early death was very sad, and who knows how his career would have developed over the years. I've the Dances from Terpsichore on my Classical channel if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/zFQ3TFDKy58/видео.html
Thanks for your comment! This is a gem of a record isn't it? I've a short playlist of this and other early and Renaissance music on my classical channel if you're interested. ruclips.net/p/PLGaVIRFb9fMEe3nDJsvuaGXZ9GM7MmrW0
You're most welcome! This recording introduced me to the world of "early music" and showed that it could be fun and not some academic exercise! Such a shame David Munrow died at such so young, too . . .

Very lovely. Bob, if you don't mind me asking, how do you align your cartridge on the sony? I tried to use the protractor on the back of the mat, but mine has almost worn off and is difficult to see now.
Thanks Blake. To align carts I first hold the headshell with cartridge mounted sideways on to a drawing having a vertical line at the headshell stock and a cross marked on a horizontal line where the stylus should be, and check this with a simple Ortofon protractor. Seems to work!

1990 for my memories. I thought I would never listen to this recording again. Thank you
You are very welcome, Juan!

Unforgettable David Munrow !
Indeed! His early death was very sad, especially when you think what might have been.
Ditto Ditto Ditto. Such a genius and incredible arranger/performer taken so young. I've always wondered what led to the suicide of this beautiful and exceptionally talented man.
Thanks for sharing. In the 70s I used to regularly borrow this record from the local library after first hearing David Munrow on the radio

Großartige Aufführung dieser großartigen Meisterwerke mit präzisen Töne aller historischen Instrumente im stabilen Tempo und mit angemessener Dynamik.
I have this album as well - it is one of my favorite recordings EVER, and, I think, one of the best interpretations of this music OF ALL TIME!
It's a great album!

We live in the Great Music Nous connaissons la beauté comme en Flandre..
I still have the record, and treasure it. Vinyl's still the best way to hear subtle recorded music.

Thank-you, Bob. I'll happily follow the link.
I had the LP! Love it so much! And so glad to be able to listen again. It's like a little piece of my childhood. Thanks!

A true Classic that I grew up with :) Thank you, Bob!
Thanks for your comment, Ruben. I'm pleased you like the music!
Beautiful! One of my all-time favorites, right up there with the Terpsichore
Yes, this is a special album - one I've played to death over the years since it was released.
I was given a copy of this record by a girlfriend 37 years ago.
God bless you, Paula, where ever you are.

This is Great!!!!! makes me want to dust off the old Miracord hiding in the shed somewhere.( hope I remembered to lock-down the stylus)
Got this on LP as well. Cannot find a CD of it. Bu I found a very good version by the Clemencic consort.
This is an old classic.........

Yes, I wore out my vinyl disc. Now have it on CD. Thanks for posting it here.
top quality!
Crumhorns and bagpipes aren't exactly my taste, but as a whole, this music is wonderful and takes you on an adventure!
This is a joy isn't it? And the bagpipes are actually shawmns and the deliightfully named rackett!
Tento vinyl bych koupil. Kde ho tak Sehnat. Nevíte Někdo.Nabidnete. Skvost.

Is it possible that you could upload the Elizabeth R soundtrack? I can't find any recordings of it anywhere.
I would if could, Edgar. But I don't have it - on LP or any other format. But I hope you liked this record.
A still picture would be better.
