I'm from NY, but I've listened to Garage, Grime ETC for over 20 years, and it's like people here never give some respect to the UK scene. I fucks with yall a lot, I like our shit of course too, but I think it's because a lot of cats in the US can't understand the UK slang and accent and don't really feel "electronic" sounds as much. It's getting more open now though. I can understand all UK accents, ends, London, Cockney ETC, but yeah, that's my thought. And yes, Pop Smoke was our guy for that.
This is true, i think it’s because people here don’t listen to any other music than hip-hop/rap/trap/ drill but when you talk to English people about music they could talk for hours about house music, rock, reggae. Here in NY and America in general I feel like we’re ode close minded to other types of music. They didn’t pave nothing bruh. Newyork niggas just started stealing they beats
No they didn’t fivio himself said Chicago where drill rap originated from inspired New York drill
And he also said they got inspiration from Chief Keef
If u look at Rowdy Rebel(the one in the Make it rain ft). He is in prision rn but he is a good friend of pop and he has songs with similar beats to what Pop used. Defenetly influensed pop

The UK accent sounds so raw compared to the almost warm voice of the US accent. Perhaps that’s due to my context with seeing the American accent through screens only where the I hear the UK accent everyday and feel it.
Mason Bradley never thought of it like this, insightful comment.
Looooool half the men in the US sound like women you daft yute
“Riooght. Wots all this then” head ass yallsound weird in the uk nd yall jack chicago and ny slang
Mason Bradley yeah I agree London accent is more plosive and US accent is more smooth
@YBN FinesseJugz did you even read the comment you replied too? If you read it properly youd realise hes saying if you hear it everyday and know the different tones in the accent that you feel it more but american to us sounds all the same just as uk to you probably sounds the same, atleast from each state/county

Pop was the future of American drill, he was one of the very few Americans that can rap nicely on a drill beat. R.I.P the W💫💫
Sheff G
america invented this shit
I feel like its the way the beats are produced that changes the sound, for instance the uk mostly has melodies in a minor key, and grimy 808s while us drill usually only has one or the other
just remember pop smoke beats were inspired from the uk 🤣🥶😈💀
808 melo is from the UK so...
Still did it better than any UK rapper

@ThatOneGuy89 Hey Mr History. Who won the war of 1812? Why does Canada have the queens head on their money? British burned down the Whitehouse.. I know you would love that now though 🤣😂👊
And yes, Pop Smoke was our guy for that.
ruclips.net/video/Uu4jU_dg9ig/видео.html
Respect bro
@gl0inup true. USA drill on top
This is true, i think it’s because people here don’t listen to any other music than hip-hop/rap/trap/ drill but when you talk to English people about music they could talk for hours about house music, rock, reggae. Here in NY and America in general I feel like we’re ode close minded to other types of music. You don’t know many times I’ve been told to turn the “white people music off” when it was actually a black artist
They don't even realise that the UK rap scene has existed since the early 80s and has some major influence on American rap scene
They both influence each other but people are idiots and don't want to listen because they don't have the annoying American accent
Bro I've seen some comments over who's better I'm just here to hear some drill US you got your style and the UK we have ours it rlly don't matter you kids
