I'd play records over n over numerous times..stop start stop start to learn the notes n words...Elton John...this song for you, John Denver.. rocky mtn high...but I listened to others, John Lennon, Allman Bros, Rolling Stones, Ozzy, Cat Stevens...never learned guitar well.. just simple 6 chords..drums were my love and piano..but I never had either until I was an adult..and made sure my kids had a piano and my son had my drum set and African drums, congas, most percussion. Music got me thru tough times so I get what JD is saying...
