I remember playing a really old version of Minecraft on my phone, beds were not added yet, and Zombies were the only Monster to spawn at night. So I put myself on Survival mod, built a restaurant made out of Glass, armed myself with an Axe (As Swords were also gone as well) waited until Nightfall, then the game began, I would battle incoming Zombies with my Axe, inside and on top of my Glass Restaurant, (There was a rooftop dining area to.) I called the game, Zombie Game.
What about fences? I remember in Alpha you couldn't build them on each other, so if you wanted a fence more than 1 block tall you had to put a layer of blocks underneath, build the top layer, destroy the bottom layer you built, and put fences underneath on the ground. Building fancy bridges with fences was almost impossible. 0_0 SO glad they changed it. SO glad.
Don't forget the shield and the wing suit which changed minecraft cause on wingsuit it's a lot easier to explore now and don't need to worry too much about hunger and for the shield is the one we've been wanted for so long... Also the dual wield mechanic which is awesome they finally added it
About the nighttime lighting... Did anyone else ever notice that it would be dark around you, but then if you looked into the distance it would be bright? It's like the lighting couldn't load. XD
another mechanic that changed in Minecraft console versions is that when in creative mode, when you hit a monster mob, they chase you. now when you hit a monster, they will just do nothing
It wasn't that annoying when food was no stackable. Of course, you never were able to carry 64 porkchops, but you didn't need them at all, so it wasn't much of a bummer. You only need to carry a lot of food thanks to the new hunger-system. Back in the days, you could go into the next cave with three porkchops and have one left after exploring, if you played a little careful. Of course the hunger-system changed the game a lot and I think it made everything much better, but carrying food around in the early days wasn't so annoying as you said in this video. ^^
the one glitch that made me sad and happy at the same time that they took away is that when you place a torch at night and walk away and come back a bunch of cows sheep and pigs were their so people could just farm like that
I think that the ability to sprint was kind of cool, because for one, as you said, there was a lot more potential for parkour maps, and also the game just felt so much slower without it. Traveling through large open areas felt very boring, while now you can just go through it quicker. One important thing to note about beds, is that, when they were added in Beta 1.3, they were used only to skip the night. The biggest change came in Beta 1.4, because the beds allowed you to change your spawnpoint, basically if you died before Beta 1.4 and your home wasn't near your original spawn (the one you appeared on when you created the world) then you were screwed. I never liked enchanting, but to each their own. I never bother with bows. So I don't really care. However, when you could spam arrows, each arrow also dealt less damage than now. THE FOOD SYSTEM WAS SUCH AN AWESOME THING. I think it's the best thing to be added to minecraft. Not only did it make mob fights more challenging, because you couldn't just restore health on a whim, but also it made it so that you wouldn't have to bother about falling when constructing something, because the lost health would just regenerate. And stacking food... such a good thing.
Other Missed Thing: Infinite Terrain was added in Minecraft Infdev, previously in Indev you were limited to a finite world size. Infinite Terrain Impacted the game dramatically!
10 things you didn't know about the jungle temple? me and my sister Andie were playing Minecraft together and she stumbled across a jungle temple. I just know this is probably extremely rare because I've only seen 1 the whole time I've ever played Minecraft so it be cool to learn more about them.
I play MCPE and I remember 0.8.0 when all worlds were finite, you couldn't sprint, you are to restore health, there were no caves or generated structures. Sigh, Minecraft PE has improved a lot over the last few years, and were already at 0.14.0. (Soon: 0.15.0)

I love how when a creeper is about to explode it just looks straight ahead and stands perfectly still. Just like "remember me"
Placing torches everywhere is still a great option, as it prevents hostile mobs from spawning and makes it easier to see in the general area.
I was playing Minecraft since Alpha 1.1 and was surprised by how much the game changed.

I know sprinting.. But in the early days of MCPE, you couldn't sprint! This was changed in the 0.12.0 update.
