I am a security guard at a hospital and my advice is to keep circling around so you don't block people behind you. Also be patient because a lot of people are picking up and dropping off patients in wheelchairs and this can take a lot of time to load and unload.
For people that want to put their all into it, sure lol. But there are people that already have a business in something they truly enjoy and look to do this solely for side-work.
I absolutely love Dropoff. They don't oversaturate and pay their drivers well. Their drivers are so happy that there are rarely openings and that's why so many can't get activated. Best to come through another driver referral. You're way over complicating medical courier work with the questions. Dropoff is not just medical courier deliveries. They deliver much more.
I waited over two years to get activated lol finally I am ready to start driving for them. I start my ride along training day this Thursday March 2024. I can’t wait.
Making $252 for 200 miles is good, if your driving a 4cyl or 6cyl engine that is getting 25-35 mpg ......it only takes around $50 to fill up and get over 400 miles a tank , now that your on a half tank after 200 miles, put $25 in it to fill it up again, now those 200 miles are costing you $25 "cheers"
I think if you arrive in courier-branded vehicle then the security guards are more likely to leave you alone. I used to work for such a company also in Pittsburgh and parking became a non-issue for the most part (assuming you didn't block anyone in). I suggest getting magnetized car door signs if you plan to do it long-term.
Dropoff provides magnets for your doors. Never have to worry about parking because all the pick ups are used to seeing Dropoff cars. Pull up to the curb, run in, grab the package and leave. Much easier than food delivery.
One might also be able to use the car's expenses when filling for taxes...Examples are: Depreciation of car due to increasing mileage, gas, oil change, tires, repairs and tune-ups, insurance, registration fees, mileage ran through the one year tax period... Best to keep in mind to track all these diligently, because the car will also be used for personal activities, which it will be split in the taxes application. But lets say you used you car starting at mile (whatever one might have on the car's dashboard) - write it down to start and then write the time and date then the ending mileage for that ran. Then when used for personal just write miles down... That will differentiate from your time using the car for personal and when using for the job. Send the tracking pages of expenses as supporting document of the work you did for X company/ies etc...along with your taxes application.
Hi Mike. Fellow Steel City resident here. Thanks for this video. I've been throwing around this side hustle for months now & been looking for a follow-up like this. Subscribed for all notifications. Take care.
So I work for Advance Auto Parts, we use a service called PACE to deliver auto parts from our hub store on a route system for the whole day like a day job but they are contract drivers. They can do a route from twice a day to as many as 5 times a day to the same stores each route. The only problem is that they are seemed to treated as regular employees not contracted drivers. The routes are timed with set pickup and drop off at each location. I believe they get paid with or without product delivered, just run it to get paid. The weights of product can go to light to very heavy cases of product or batteries. You never know until departure time from the hub. There doesn't seem to be a lack of pay that drivers always seem to return the next day lol. I will say this though you need to be somewhat fit for this to pickup some heavy items from time to time.
@@YourDriverMike well it's not app-based, so different categories of deliveries pay different amounts, and ASAP pays more than a regular, an after-hours pays more, and Rush pays more. I averaged $42 per delivery.. usually getting close to $2 per mile.
Suggestion not dictation but if your dropping go to shipping/receiving where the semi/box truck deliver. There’s parking in those areas so you won’t be in the way.
I am set up to buy a Cargo Van so I can use it for the Dispatch App and any other apps. The van is a 1992 Ford 250 in mint condition with 74,000 miles. But I am afraid some apps might not take it. What is the oldest year that Curri will accept? Please let me know.
There are 30 to 50 channels on RUclips promoting the same story, the same garbage of making $46 dollars an hour delivering this or that, now most of these app are swamped with 40 to 60 thousands application a week results of many people lessening to your bullshits and rushing to these app to apply, this the reason many applicants are being put on hold for 2 to 3 months to have someone review thier app, I think these channels like your should be suid and get penalized for talking about an app without the app permissions, stop this garbage people, let the people look for a job on their own.
Did you ever get activated? Not surprised no one can get onboard since every RUclipsr and their brother is promoting Medical Delivery. This is great for DropOff, but it's going to run the prices down. Unless there is such a high turnover rate that these companies need to pay to get people signing up.
One of the things I don't like about courier work is that sometimes the customer wants you to go a long way to pick up from them, without pay. You get paid only to bring their stuff back. I won't do those. The time I spend getting there unpaid could be used to get paid doing something else. If someone wants me to take something from Cincinnati, where I live, to Pittsburgh, that's fine, I'll do that. Then when I'm done I can go anywhere and do anything on my own dime. But if you want me to drive to Pittsburgh just to bring something back to Cincinnati, you're gonna have to pay me both ways.
can you work as a medical courier and set your own schedule? or do you have to work the same schedule everyday? some days i have to travel out of town.
Id say one of the issues for me with these courier gigs is they all say 10 years old or newer vehicle. Well I have an 05 4 runner with less than 100k miles...so ya id bet it outlives most vehicles 10 years younger in another 10 years... dumb imo. IT should just be obviously a reliable vehicle.

My only concern would be getting in and out of hospitals all the time...I mean can you imagine the amount of viruses and resistant bacteria, olus other contaminants, we'll be in contact with? Any thoughts from medical drivers?
Baby stop ✋🏽 with the negative fearful excuses. Every business has viruses and bacteria that's not hospital specific. Unless you're a reclusive person. You interact with sick people daily and not know they're sick. Clearly medical courier isn't for you
You're telling us how much a person made but each city is different, I wish you could tell us which city the person made this much money, each state and city has different minimum wage, what's $60 may be good in one city may not be good in another city if you understand what I'm saying
I worked for a delivery company driving overnights delivering all sorts of things. I'd drive 400-450 miles a night. Unfortunately, I only got paid $12/hr with no benefits. The amount of driving made me quit. And I was driving a company vehicle. No way I'd drive my personal vehicle. lol
carllundgren9754, are you a courier? I was offer a position in Roslyn Heights but have not gotten as far as discussing compensation so I was just wondering. Thank you.
We all know those earnings are rare, i get some that paid $20 a mile. Is that going to happen often? I wish! Thats what drivers show on their channels to get views and followers! The ugly truth its very ugly…. Working for gig apps will not pay you more than $20 /hr gross average, deducting expenses $15 an hour…. Not great, lots of jobs pay $20+ hr plus benefits

Is this with personal vehicle or company vehicle? I’m trying to get more info, I’m interested
@mtn7224 They use there own personal vehicles.
I’ve applied to three separate Rx deliveries and NO ONE HAS GOTTEN BACK.
I'm a medical courier that picks up in South Denver and usually delivers in Northern Colorado, but I often go to Wyoming or Nebraska too.

2 month review of not doing an order . Good job
I was going to say the same thing, title is misleading.
Content creator has to make content... RUclips algorithm wants constant stream of videos, and Doordash is a topic that is a millimeter deep.
I think a lot of medical courier routes are contracted directly from companies that specialize in these deliveries.
Usually the low per-mile is offset by the lower time spent making the deliveries. I'd gladly make $1.50 per if I'm making $50 per hour.
