Great review Justin, and I agree with the Crosstrek - we bought a 2024 to replace our 2011 Imprezza! This video deserves so many views, you really do cover off the important stuff, and I think the only reviewer to also report on the headlight performance. Thank you!
ONLY reason why I would not get a Crosstrek is that I don't need AWD 12 months/year in New Jersey. I'm not a fan of their infotainment setup, but that's a minor thing. If I do go with a 2024/25 Kona with AWD (Limited trim), their HTRAC AWD is an on-demand system, which is better for when you don't need AWD all the time. In addition, I'm also considering the Kona EV, as it depends on final cost, with both U.S. Federal and NJ State tax credits off the MSRP when leasing. Oh, and that Kona rear cargo cover? There are nubs (is that what they're called?) behind the rear seats to allow you to slide the cargo cover down and not have to stow it outside the vehicle! Oh, and the Kona includes a spare tire!!
@@Steve_in_NJI don't mind the interior, it's the CVT transmission that I"m not crazy about. I do like the CX-30 on the other hand and it has an excellent transmission. The reason I wanted to point out the lack of spare tires in Hyundai's Canada vehicles is that this is becoming a trend (they save money) and I hope that it doesn't propagate to the US as well for you guy's. Thanks for your response.
35500 CAD = 26100 USD, best Crosstrek same price than simple ordinary Kona. (sorry for my English)

Glad you liked it, and you made a logical upgrade 👌
Enjoy the Crosstrek!! And stay tuned!
Cheers from chilly North Ontario!
Subaru for sure! Symmetrical AWD is the best in the business!👍
Thanks for reviewing the cargo space! As a commercial photographer, that’s one of the first things I need to know!
Same the only reason I looking into the KONA that cargo space for my camera gears. The Toyota RAIZE has similar Cargo space as well

Not in Canada it doesn’t! You’re stuck with a ridiculous tire mobility kit with all Kona’s. Try using on of those at -10c…….
Look at mazda cx30's
@@stefgen5052 As I don't live in Canada, I don't have to consider that. But if I did live in Canada, I'd be more interested in Subaru.
@@jamiehalifax4954 I did and didn't like the interior.

I drive long distances frequently. Did the Kona or the Crosstrek have better lane centering?
I'd give it to the Subaru by a hair, both systems are excellent but the Hyundai just a little more aggressive than needed at times
I bought the Crosstrek exactly like that one…Onyx trim in Sapphire blue….just a great ride.
Cx30 would of been a good fit here..love my cx3 !.
I have a question.. what are the safety ratings between the two?
Subaru is safer hands down.
Subaru 100% all around.
Both are IIHS Top Safety+ Pick rated. That's the highest rating possible!
Great review Justin! Commenting on the things that are significant. Well done video!
Thanks dad, 2 good choices here! The lighting on the Subaru is hard to beat!
