Okay, first fun fact. That Goomba Sprite after you kill Bowser initially WAS a glitch, well sort of. They had accidentally assigned the wrong sprite. But it was caught during development, and rather than fixing it, the developers decided to expand on it, making all of the seven Bowsers from the first seven worlds be fakes disguised as various enemies. It was a mistake repurposed into a feature.
that audio glitch also happens occasionally in green hill in sonic 1, it's just alot harder to trigger because the mega drive has 10 audio channels compared to the nes's 5 audio channels
@@AtomicEmperor Makes sense. I couldn't remember to remember it happening in the Genesis/Mega Drive games but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened a couple times and it slipped right under my nose.
I used to play this game aaall day when I was a kid. I even have a photo that my mom took of me playing this in 2000. 😄 This game was very huge in Brazil back in that day. Even I’m being a Sonic Fan, I played Mario first because the Sega Genesis wasn’t so accessible for most people here in the 90s/2000s.
I didn't have a NES growing up, so I first played this game via Mario All Stars on my cousins' SNES. At least that lets you save and continue from the start of each world! By the way, the Deluxe version on Game Boy Colour is also worth a play for its added challenge mode :)
I just managed to get back to watching this video. You do know about the A + Start trick right? After a Game Over, if you hold the A button on the title screen while pressing start, it will take you to the beginning of the world you died at. For example: If you got a game over at 6-3, that trick would take you to 6-1. Would've saved you a lot of time you could have been using to make spaghetti! (Had to think really hard about that one.) Edit: Please don't skip Mario 2 (US). It may not have originally been a Mario game (even though it was made by the same developers), but it's had way more impact on the series than the Lost Levels ever did. Enemies like Shy Guys, Birdo, and Bob-ombs. The character abilities that came back in 3D World. Even the general level themes. Mario 3 clearly took some inspiration from it. And it was also released in Japan as Super Mario USA.
One of those games that everyone knows, but far fewer have actually beaten. I'm a lifelong gamer, and it took me till just 5 or 6 years ago to finally sit down and beat the whole game, without warps. It might not be the most polished game, but it is incredibly satisfying to conquer.
Just so you know, if you want to skip SMB2JP (Lost Levels), I... would not fault you one bit. But man, it's a little strange having us both be familiar with the game we're playing. (As you could probably guess from my profile pic and channel, I am also a Mario fan. I've been more on a Sonic kick lately though. Sonic X Shadow Generations is PEAK btw.)
@@superplushroompower-up I think the goomba sprite upon Bowser's first defeat being a glitch at first could count. I thought that the different enemy sprites were an intentional thing since the beginning.

They even reuse it in Super Mario 3D Land
4:27 Specifically "Koopa Troopas" since Koopa is the entire species of turtle.
@@Neo-Metal17 We also know that these guys have an obsession whenever an audible "bah" occurs

@Sleengo you won't've experienced it because you played sonic 1 forever
@@AtomicEmperor good point. I played forever, absolute, then air

Oh wow! Yeah I played the game a few times as a kid. However I can't ever memorize how the physics of the game feels in the game for some reason.

I wonder how long it will take for me to share a Mario fact that you don't know. We'll have to wait and see.

@@Sleengo I made that comment before I got to that part if the video and shared that fact, so yeah. That's the first one.
I don't think Peach is a nickname. I think Peach is her first name and Toadstool is her last name.
I think that too because of how she signed the letter in Mario 64.
@@Neo-Metal17 You may be right. For whatever reason I interpreted "Princess" as the first name.
