Working on Log Bridge In the Woods - Milling and Installing the Second Log

- Homemade Log Winch to the rescue. Today we finish mixing and pouring the concrete for the creek rock piers for our timber bridge. Then I take the Husqvarna 55 gas powered saw out into the woods and cut down a couple dead trees. End up milling one of the trees down, then use the homemade log arch to pull it down to the timber bridge project. Today was another day of great progress. Next step will be to get all the mess cleaned up, tuck point the creek rock with mortar, and the borrow my friends band saw to mill up the rest of the structure. Hope you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for watching!
That was fantastic content
Hey thank you sir!
It's coming along nicely 👍
Thank you!
I'm very impressed 😃
Thanks!
Thanks, what you do remined me of our NWest British blacksmiths shop that started in 1890. I can see I am 2y late but the fun you have is great, "just get it done attitude.
I learnt to weld when I was 10y I built a pulse jet engine when I was 17y Now old age holds me back a bit so I now service very old sewing machines {my very old machines are from around 1880} They still work and we use them to make things to give away.
Great job it’s awesome
Very nice job, lot of hard work.
Thank you sir!
First thing you need is a good foundation. Good start on a great project. Keep at it!!
Thank you!
Looking good :) Family time is always a good choice . Your girls are getting big,
Thank you sir!
Good video.
Hey thanks!
A Captain video with no concussion protocol follow up👍 Looks good Bud!
Insurance was getting too high 😂
Nice, Captain K. Never see you with problems - only solutions!
Way to be. Liken the J Douglas trackage!
It’s the way to Be! Hey thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the show
Thank you!
Nice wooden bridge. It is ideal to use your own resources.
I agree and thanks!
i put my hammers and axes into a bucket of new or used antifreeze keeps the wood swollin along time. more great work. thanks captain.
Interesting
Great work on the bridge.
Thank you Sir!
Cap't, you sir are serious work oriented guy full of creativity. Love watching.
Hey thanks for all the support!
My husband said it right, you're a one man ARMY. Amazing videos to watch. Family is always nice to see, three beautiful girls. Stay safe
Hahaha, thanks for the kind words!
Coming along great.
Thank you!
Sure looks a fun project
We are enjoying it!
It really looks good
Thank you sir!
Enjoying video
Thank you!
Looking good Mike
Thank you sir!
Cap’n thanx for accommodating my schedule. Today is a much less hectic day. We’ve already had almost 2” of rain and the sun isn’t up yet! Delaying this gave me the extra time I needed to get my chores done B4 sitting down to immerse my self in your latest antics!
Now about the actual video presentation.., it had everything I’ve come to enjoy about your channel: sweat, problem encounters, problem solving, the 755, the log winch, the log arch, broken cameras, drone fly over, cameos by the girls and doggo. All combine to provide progress and pure viewing pleasure at the end.
Considering that you went the extra mile and broke your hammer in this one, I’d say you reached video perfection… except for one snuggling little fact… Cap’n, I think it needs more cowbell!
Switch those tractor tires out for some pontoons soon!
@@CaptainKleeman Aye, Aye Cap’n
Excellent!!..
Thank you sir!
And that boys and girls is why you need to learn geometry so you can figure out your angles and pull points when building a bridge in the middle of nowhere. Good video and lots of hard work.
Thanks for watching!
Wouldn't physics be more appropriate? Cause and effect are more useful here then most anything else... lol seems anything concerning such efforts are needed.
@@garymucher9590 basic geometry is sorta a pre req for basic physics, and the more complicated the physics, the more complicated the geometry you need to know.

Thanks to surveying merit badge... It got me through High School trigonometry and a bunch of the algebra. And then there was the day that I was the presumed "unskilled" a member of the survey party which consisted of the engineer and me. I set up the theodolite and verified it as a good instrument, located an official USGS benchmark within three traverse points of the work limits. "Where did you go to surveying school", he asked. 👷♂️
Looking good.
Hey thank you!
You cant make this stuff up, done Captain Kleeman style. Another great video for us to enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
Hey thanks for watching!
its looking good. The camera is just fine.
Thank you sir
Great way to start a day! Coffee is so much better with the Captain.
What kind of coffee you drink?
@@CaptainKleeman Hot and cheap! Just like my women. 🤐
The best vedio yet 👍❤️
Thanks for the feedback!
Looks cool! Great job!
Thank you!
It's all about fulcrum points, angles, and pulleys. Lots of stored energy, be careful. Your geometry teacher must be proud.

Hope so! Hey thanks for watching.
Amazing job
Thank you!
You are a very strong and smart man.
Thank you sir!
I've always said, work ethic is better than being perfect. In this video we see, work ethic with intelligence is awesome. The Captain has both.
Good Job!
Thank you!
Good job
Amazing
Thank you!
GMC... Good Man Cause. God Bless.
Absolutely 💯 love your viedos, what a wonderful suprise getting to see your family,,the little ones are beautiful and your Wife is so very kind to bring them.
She's the BEST!!!
Yes she is!
good job Captain.
Thank you sir
At last, feels like forever waiting for a new video on this project. Thank you 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thanks for watching!
Sorry been away on my days off back at work thr bridge is coming along nicely using what you have at hand like the old days love seeing the content.
Hey appreciate all the support!
Nice use of winch and pulleys! Should be a good bridge!
Thank you sir!
Thanks Captain Kleeman Fo Another Great Video. Beautiful Place Y'all Have
Thank you sir!
Another cool vid
Thank you!
Looking good
Thank you!
Nice idea for stones as firm boards. I might have to borrow that one
Works well and fits the budget if they are handy
That drone shot at the end made me think of an old wagon crossing the bridge following the trail.
Thanks mike
Hey thanks for watching!
That little blue up in the left corner is part of keeping it real, doesn’t effect what you’re showing us, such a hard working guy !!
Thanks for the feedback!
A man of many talents. Most of all, common sense, thanks for the great content.
Hey thanks for watching!
Cute kids. You seem like a great dad
Gr8 video as always good cutting on the log it don't matter if it's a rough cut or not keep up da good work God bless
Hey thanks for the support!
@@CaptainKleeman all da time brother all da time
its looking good so far keep it up an befor you known it will be done be careful out there ok.
Hey thanks for the support!
Nice start to your bridge. I didn't notice the blur in the upper left hand corner of the video until you pointed it out.
Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback!
I can't believe how much you can get done by your self. Absolutely love your talents and work ethic!
Thank you!
Dang Captain,,,, Logger Wade would be proud at how you dropped those..... Then again he may be jealous too :-)
Hahaha, don’t know about that, but thanks!
Even though I'm watching the videos out of sequence they are still interesting to see how you solve your problems.
Appreciate ya watching!
You were a little wet when you were mixing up your concrete...that makes it weaker... and It won’t bond and hold onto stones as well.... Looking great bud! Beautiful family going there! Just wonderful to see your girls coming over to check on your progress!!!! 😁👍
Lucky man with the family I have!
Nice work.. love that u take the time to use all trees.. gretings from denmark
Thank you!
Captain, I’ve e worn my glasses ALL DAY with more than that itty bitty smudge! So great to see a guy able to farm wood on his own property and get on with it! Well done!
Thanks for watching!
I agree. Once he told me what it was, I forgot about it. If it had been a crack it would have been really noticeable, but a scuff that could have been a finger smuge in the corner was no issue. Now if it had been in the center it would have been distracting but it wasn't.
Already can tell it’s gonna look good.
Mike thanks for sharing your journey with us, always have awesome content. Take care my friend stay safe god bless.
Thank you Sir! You do the same
A lot of work for something that close to home. Know your way around a saw though. Grew up in logging, it’s a skill
One of the very coolest things I've seen in a good long time.
Appreciate that! Thank you
Mike, I am impressed with the way you used physics to assemble the bridge beams. Fulcrums, pivot points, pulleys and force arms sure make your bridge build a much easier job. You are an inspiration with your explanations of what you are doing and then showing the processes using your talents.
Thanks for the kind words!
Great video Mike 🇺🇲
Thank you!
Good morning from Grand Forks
Good morning!
No culvert keep it natural that is how Mother nature wants it. Looks awesome great work. you know Harbor Freight has a saw mill I have watched some videos on it and people seem to like it
Hey thanks for the feedback!
What you need my friend is a tankers bar for those logs.
I’ll have to look that up!
I sure do appreciate you sharing your adventures with us, Cap'n Bud!
Glad you’re tagging a lot!

Amazing how cleaver your tools are! You get a LOT of work done with that little tractor! Good job!!
It’s a heck of a little tractor!
Looking good...an ambitious solo project..with your great work ethic you will knock it out . I enjoy watching you work... I appreciate people who can take a vision and make it reality...good job.
Grateful to you for wearing your safety chaps - thanks!
(Damned cheap mallets!)
LOOKS GREAT LOVE DOING THIS KIND OF WORK
Bridge is coming along nicely…thanks for letting us be a part of it. Such a cute family y’all are and what a wonderful place to live. Blessings❣️

You as well!
Nice video.
Thanks for watching!
A lot of hard work but well worth it Mike.
Looking well good👍👍👍
Captain planet reference, from the captain, building a wood bridge recycling trees that would otherwise be trash. Very clever. 😁
Glad someone caught it!
Great project! - takes me back to my days of improvised equipment bridging like this as a combat engineer.
Hi Hi Captain. Good morning from Jamaica 🇯🇲🙏. Wow let's rip this bridge
Good morning!
@@CaptainKleeman Thank you
SALUDOS, KLEEMAN, FROM CLIFTON N.J, ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS G.B.Y. THE BRIDGE IS COMING ALONG. NICE JOB, WELL DONE.
Thank you!
Be sure to put a go pro mount under the bridge for those storm videos with the flash flooding.
That’s one helluva wire stripper!
Hahaha
Don’t forget your green handled scraper down in the ditch…looking good!!!
Oh thanks!
Getting there !!! Be done before you know it!! 👍
Thanks!
nice work ! i dont need one but now i want to build a bridge :)
Do it!
I will need to make a creek first !
lookin good
Thank you!
8:29 I knew I couldn't have been the only one who had that happen to them!
Great start. Good sawyering & use of wedges. You must have gotten an A in geometry to use your winch like that. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.
