Merry Christmas!!! Hope you had a special day with loved ones. I have not uploaded in 45 days which is probably the longest I've ever gone without publishing since starting RUclips. After a good break and recharge, I'm beyond excited for the new year and for the 3 or 4 videos I have shot and backlogged. The Sri Lanka video that is coming soon is one of our best in a lonng time. I think you are going to love it. Excited to make 2024 a year of immense focus, purpose and a year of getting back to regular videos. Appreciate you guys
Been to Maldives a couple of times and spent $50 for 5day trips. Maafushi isn’t a good option for getting the Maldives experience. But there are many local islands which are secluded and much more quiet and costs much less than $100 a day. If you ever do this again, I urge you to choose a smaller local island.
@@lostleblanc im from maldives and ive seen so many people do videos saying the expensive side of maldives. Reality is there is way more cheaper “local guest houses” here in maldives. Plus you get to visit a resort island for one day less than $200 all inclusive. So what you revealed is a relief. 🤙🏽🌴
The island you had lunch on your day trip is Fulidhoo. We have been there twice for two weeks. It is smaller and less commercial that Mafuushi and our accommodation was on the beach. It is SLIGHTLY more expensive than Mafuushi however our accommodation was $50 a night and the dives around $58 - price depending on how many dives you do and has a world class dive centre. We posted a video a few years ago - was our first so not great😂 - but never got around on our last trip. I would highly recommend you try Fulidhoo next time - the diving and day trips are incredible.
Merry Christmas Christian ! Great video. Looking forward to your content in 2024 ! (Quick note no Manta rays in your footage - eagle rays and sting rays)
Been to the Maldives a couple of times (only to local islands), and Maafushi definitely isn't the best one (I think it's maybe the biggest/busiest?). It is probably best for a budget and you do probaby have the best prices/options for the day tours - so I'd go there for a few days, do a bunch of day trips, but then head to some of the others islands for the nicer beaches, but without the resort prices. The local ferry is only $2-3 for a few hours trip, so travelling between islands can be done much cheaper (although slower).
Omg I have been waiting for an easy, breezy and real videos like this from you for a long time!!! Seriously great work and keep it up!!!!! Loved this one!
Great video. Love those daring, brave poses with the sharks. I would love to visit the Maldives one day. Thanks for sharing. I am lucky to be alive and am recovering from a near death experience
I've been in Maldives many times (Maafushi as well - Arena beach hotel is quite nice), is my go to place for aqua life holidays. There is no other place on earth so awesome and affordable to do scuba dives.
your girlfriends transformation is amazing!!! she used to be a chubby monster in ur videos 4-5 years ago with poor english, now she’s skinny like gabriel gonzalez
I stayed at Maafushi because I can’t pay 700 $ for a night, but it was amazing holiday, marine life is amazing and there are private islands that sell day tickets, so you can still get that resort feeling without spending ton of money
Dayyyyum! If my man took me there, I would be SOOOO FN HAPPY, EXCITED, and GRATEFUL!!! And I would def show it! You would not catch me chirping about a thing!
Great video! It sounds like if one has extra cash and you both are scuba divers, beach people, and want that over-bungalow experience, this would be a good bucket-list thing to consider. However, barring that, i'm not seeing how this would be really that different than a shorter and cheaper visit to the Caribbean. Best!
I just turned 40 and we went to the Maldives 🇲🇻 business class with Qatar Airlines and stayed at the Ozen Reserve Bolifushi Overwater Villa with slide into the ocean and then another week on the Emperor Serenity liveaboard for some amazing diving 🤿🐡🦀🐙🐬🦈 it was absolutely the trip of a lifetime 🙏🏼❤️💯
Loved the video, thank you for sharing Maldives on a budget! That being said, we went to another local island back in December and it was heaven!!! I strongly suggest you check it out, because, oh man, it was totally worth it and I would go back in a heartbeat! The beaches were STUNNING and it had the private island picturesque beaches you look for in the Maldives. The island's name is Thoddoo, a hidden gem! Thank me later!
This video had cinematography and good information. Should have more views. It's weird what happened to travel content on youtube lately. The videos that get a lot of views are of people walking around with a shaky gopro filming people on the street, and having no scene changes or sense of videography skills. :S
Oh we were there also in Maafushi during your visit and well I missed the island hopping that u did for $60 😢. I love this island and I hope we can visit again and follow your island hopping idea, thanks 😊.
Great Video my friend. Have you been to Tahiti and French Polynesia, how does it compare to Maldives, my guess is there is more snorkeling reefs in Tahiti as compared to Maldives, correct me if I am wrong?
Hey Leblanc, you went to the worst local island. But I guess it's on everyone's radar and it is the most popular. So many other local islands we pristine beaches and sandbanks. Diguraah, Rahsdoo, Thoddoo, Gulih which is only 15min from Maafsushi and cost $1.15 with dope beaches many ppl don't know that. But as full-time travelers, we all live and learn.
Love the vlog man. 2023 was a strange year for you,, trying to invest and come up with different video ideas . Keep it going, don't worry too much about views. Your videos and edits are always above standards. 2024 will be your year !
After watching this video, I feel like I spent the whole day in the Maldives. The sounds of waves, soft sand and emotional moments - all of them are perfectly conveyed in the frames. It's incredible the power such a beautiful place can have. It's definitely worth adding the Maldives to your list of places to visit in your life!
My wife and I were looking at Maldives but I dont know if I can handle the flights from Chicago. Im tall so flying is never a comfortable experience. 5-6 hours....okay. I forget exactly but Maldives was something like 18 hours in the air each way.....ouch
terribly hot and humid in Maldives now, bad decision. Lots of flies and mosquitoes as well with some biting fish! It gets boring after few days if u have planned a longer trip, nothing new to explore after some time. I would rate Cuba, Bora - Bora and Bali much higher and economical with better weather!
I like the look of the water villa, but I don’t like that you are being stuck on one island and tie to hotel catering which is ridiculously pricey. I was quoted $700 daily for food package inclusive of breakfast and dinner( drink excluded ) For this kind of money I can dine in 3 Michelin star everyday anywhere.
*Oh, my dream place* but still too much for me 😓 so I'll just watch on RUclips instead 🌅
I hate this place sm lol
LOVE! Thank you for bringing back the Lost LeBlanc that I discovered years ago when I was planning my first trip to Asia :)

Come to India after the Shri Lanka trip my suggestion is Munnar in Kerala (God Owns Country)😇
Idk what it exactly was but this episode had something about it - just felt like an energizing breath of fresh air, good stuff
Happy holidays @lostleblanc and gorgeous girlfriend 😍💞🎄💕
Maafushi kind of reminds about the back roads of Boracay sans of course the Sharks and Mantas. Do you think? Merry Xmas You two!!!!
*_Okay, this video was definitely a PSA. Now I gotta go..._*

Being a solo traveler i would never book a water bungalow. But with a girlfriend like yours it would definitely be a dream experience :)
Merry Christmas Christian ! Great video. Looking forward to your content in 2024 !

Thanks for this guys! Where did you guys book your accommodation in Bandos Island? did you have to pay the mandatory charges for the boat transfer?
Merry Christmas Christian! amazing video as always keep up the good work!
Appreciate it Alex! Merry Christmas
This is great to give us a rough idea on prices, Thanks a mill! Looking forward to getting there ourselves!

I've been in Maldives many times (Maafushi as well - Arena beach hotel is quite nice), is my go to place for aqua life holidays. There is no other place on earth so awesome and affordable to do scuba dives.
Maldivesss is destroying sea life in ocean. Its not a sustainable tourism. Its a destroying ocean lifes and living beings. Over rated tourism scam
I hope you don't fight with your girlfriend when she asks 1$ 😂😂
what a cool episode it turned out to be. I love the Maldives
your girlfriends transformation is amazing!!! she used to be a chubby monster in ur videos 4-5 years ago with poor english, now she’s skinny like gabriel gonzalez
Whattttt ? Thats is another person mate..
what is the name of the place u stayed
what is the name of the stay in the water banglow on the last day of the trip in Maldives?
Hi! Can you share the name of the two accommodations that you went to after Maafushi. Thank you
LOL I'm proud of Ruby for doing the shark float off the boat thing. I wouldn't be brave enough for it. :)
and we each still have 10 fingers :)
What’s the name of beach front villa on Bandos Island? And how did you book it?
What currency are you using in the Maldives? I am going there at the end of the month. Where did you find diving for $45?
I stayed at Maafushi because I can’t pay 700 $ for a night, but it was amazing holiday, marine life is amazing and there are private islands that sell day tickets, so you can still get that resort feeling without spending ton of money

How long did it take you to get there?
About 24 hours total. Absolutely worth it. If you have a layover then just hang out at a lounge and take a shower etc.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing
What is the video Enjoy your last final day 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Guys when u go scooba diving they make vedios of it???underwater ??
Nice video! Going to maldives in two weeks, and also want to go diving. Did you need a diving licence to dive? 😊
Seeing Christian do the most touristy day trip and putting up in Maafushi is really interesting!! BTW I have been to Maafushi in 2022😄
$10 for a coconut is equal Rp150k. You can buy 150 coconut in bali with $10😅
I think 💭 you hit jackpot 🎰 being with this beauty

I'm not seeing Bandos Island for $75 per night, Did ya'll get an Influencer discount? Prices are from $400 upwards...
Please come to Malaysia for the beach and dive place. Tioman Island and Perhentian Island would be worth it.
How much was it then? Package or flights? From where?
This water villa is $1,800 CAD night 😢. I was really hoping for $700 USD
Hawaii is a beauty and worth the money
From driver boy😂
