I lost track of you since Creative Cow. I know is a long time ago now. But a quick search on YT bump me to Red Giant and now... I'm one more subscriber. Keep your self safe and like you said.. wash your hands.
Same. Tutorial is WAY too fast-paced. I’m not saying they should dumb it down completely but if they just paced it a little more deliberately it would be something an intermediate user could follow.
I followed all steps but the effects doesn't affect the null point. Do i need composite folder. I use the latest updated version of red giant complete and are the steps the same. Under system mine shows primary system but yours is master system
Hi first of all thank you for sharing and uploading this tutorial... .I follow it and I did almost perfectly...the only issue is my pc , which is 2016 old machine with Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB Ram...Intel I7 7700 and 24 GB ram Power supply 750w , which slows everting down . I want to buy new pc like I7 14 gen , RTX 3060 Nvidia 12 Gb plus 32 GB Ram....Do you think this pc system will work smoothly in the RG Particle/form etc. Designer? Do you have any suggestions? Which motherboard? Thank you in advance Hi all of you , I want to work with Red Giant plugin like Particle Form in Designer , which pc do you suggest ? Any help is most appreciate. Thank you
Trapcode Particular and Form don't make much use of the GPU, but many of our other tools like Universe, Magic Bullet Looks, Red Giant Geo, and Supercomp do. We don't make specific hardware recommendations, but a decent GPU like you've listed should do the trick for most of our tools along with a decent new CPU and a good amount of RAM. You can see our official system requirements here: www.maxon.net/requirements/red-giant-requirements
Unfortunately, for me, this is too fast. None of these things happened for me after 2:02 I don't have a layer like "Expression: possition" at all And when I finally by some miracle turned it on and did as in the video, link... the effect didn't appear. I am running out of the demo in 4 days. So I'm not likely to play anymore.
PLEASE HELP!!!!! - I have followed everything step by step but paricular layer does not want to follow Null. SO when you add chromatic displacement, it just sits in the centre of the composition and do not move.
To use this with a layer that has an effect, you have to choose to use the layer with its masks and effects (or precompose the Fractal Noise layer (moving all of the elements into the precomp).
@@MaxonRedgiant I must have 2 step right? *Step 1: Create map with fractal noise, then use in chromatic displayment Step 2: download footage and "blend mode" it on the top layer section* Thanks for reply my friend
This is one of several videos I've watched about Red Giant at all. This is the first one I have attempted to do and it turned out pretty well. I looked back at the video a few times to follow along but over all I got the same result. I am not exactly sure what to do without following along to a tutorial, but this video isn't clickbait. Right now I am trying to mimic the shot on the railing with the force field closing in, so I would appreciate a tutorial on creating a force field to a specified masked area. So far I have masked out and keyframed what the space is I would like to fill, but this is where I become stumped. Not sure what tools to use to create this! This was a good tutorial and introduction to a few tools Red Giant has to offer!
rip.reggie I don’t know. Making tutorials that need people to buy various plugins first is pointless. Different if it’s specifically advertising one and it’s mentioned in the video title but this is not. 🤷🏻♂️ Plenty of great tutorials out there that don’t need anything.
Charlie Pennell I got 6 months for free as a student and instantly took my skills to another level by becoming familiar with VFX suites like Red Giant Complete. Eventually with enough patience this stuff becomes second nature and is a skill I can use on future videos for portfolios and editor reels for employment. Look at it more as an investment in you.
rip.reggie Totally understand that. VFX isn’t the road I’m on, so I’m looking at it more as a extra thing to do/learn for fun, for now at least. I’m an editor/motion & graphic designer primarily. That’s cool if you got 6 months free though and I definitely get what you’re saying, I appreciate it. Keep working hard! ✌🏼👍🏼
Interesting. But does the trainer have to catch a flight or something? Maybe the trainer has many many years of experience, but others don't!!! It does help if the voice over can speak (and click buttons) a little slower than the speed of light! Ultimately, the purpose of teaching is defeated, as I did not learn a single thing from this and I have been using AFX for the last 2 years
We need more of these short quick tutorials

That chromatic displacement is so smooth - great quick tip Aharon!
You're awesome I love learning from your videos. Would you consider doing a Trapcode live stream while we're all at home?
Thanks so much for your time and effort in putting out this great tutorial

PLEASE HELP!!!!! - I have followed everything step by step but paricular layer does not want to follow Null. SO when you add chromatic displacement, it just sits in the centre of the composition and do not move.
Try in a whole new project to just make a new comp, a new solid, apply Particular, and click the button to make it follow a null. Does that work?
@@MaxonRedgiant Awesome...thank you so much....by doing this I saw where I went wrong
How to I download it
I dont have obj enabled in trapcode. I see. Point box sphere lights layer text/mask 3d model
3d Model is the mode to import OBJs.
Can you make Maleficent Tutorials
What software do you use?
How do we get the water effect like in the thumbnail?
You can drive your displacement with a fairly simple Fractal Noise effect in After Effects, just animate the noise moving whatever direction you want!
i tried this using fractal noise with chromatic displacement and it doesnt work

What's the music at the end?
how did you make the fractal one to map to the railing and animate
@Aharon Rabinowitz what color solid did you use for the fractal noise layer ?
Yay
Pc specification plz...
is no one gonna talk about the fact that this video has nothing to do with the thumbnail?
*can you talk the name of effect at **3:52*
It's the same effect as has been discussed in the tutorial - it's just being driven by footage.
