This was my first ever nascar race and my god this was the best race I've ever attended. EVER. And the commentary from Allen, Wally, Tony, and BP is amazing! Probably the funniest race I've seen as well
My uncle worked for the sponser Channellock, and at the time it only had one location in Meadville PA, so I've been a Sauter fan ever since he landed this sponser. Its nice to meet another Sauter fan.
I always used to call this "the most disrespectful busch race" when i was little haha. thanks for bringing back the memories with this upload :) (I taped it, and watched it every time i was sick, and out of school)
I dunno why people call Sauter a "villain" when he should be declared a hero for winning over the dang Busch-whackers. If anything, Shane Hmiel was more of a vilain this night.
All these over hyped guys that moved up to cup the following year and the only guy who I can’t seem to forget who got the short end of the stick was Scott Wimmer. He deserved a better ride and was the best driver of them all
2003 Funai 250 Location: Richmond, Virginia Track: Richmond International Raceway Type of race track: Short Track Starting cars: 43 Finishing cars: 26 Laps: 250 Cautions: 7 Red flags: 1 Pole Winner: Kevin Harvick (21) (Part-Time) Most laps led: Matt Kenseth (17) (Part-Time) (115 laps led) Race Winner: Johnny Sauter (43)
yes but nascar needs more villain drivers...i agree sauter can drive dirty at times, but that's what they need more of....i just love the whole karma bites you in the ass phrase....kenseth goes after sauter, harvick gets mad at kenseth, kenseth wins cup championship.....edwards and hamlin dump keselowski intentionally, keselowski wins cup championship
NEMCO replaced Randy LaJoie with Greg in the early summer. If you listen to Randy's interview on the Scene Vault podcast, you'll hear him talk about bad blood within the team that had been brewing for a while.
Matt Kenseth's head got a little too big for his helmet in this one. Asking his spotter to go tell the 21 to take it easy racing for the lead with 5 laps to go? I'd be mad if I was Harvick, too.
I liked this Busch Series season, it was tight all year long and this was the championship battle that the Cup Series lacked because Kenseth's top 10 spamming made it a runaway.

They were a great group that night. Wally and Tony were busting it up all night.
This was my first race too!

1:33:04 Two of Wisconsin's finest holding NOTHING back!
ARTGO (Kenseth) vs ASA (Sauter)
I was trying to find this race for that exact moment, I never forgot it. Epic
You should make a compilation of all the things Benny did in this race LMAO
I always used to call this "the most disrespectful busch race" when i was little haha.

13 years later and he's still running in lower series.
I was at this race in turns 3 & 4! Very exciting race. This is the race I started getting interest in the winner! Been a fan of his since!
Damn I never seen Scott Riggs get angry
who hired the guy to sing the national anthem?? one of the best finishes ive seen in the nationwide series
God I miss these days of Happy Harvick
I went too Richmond for both races that year in 2003. Good times
Was Christopher Walken singing The Star-spangled Banner?
they draw faces at some point in the race.... i think after halfway

I miss the old Richmond

Wally's laugh kills me. Him and Tony were have a great time that night

They also do it at 23:45
Scott Riggs.. hahaha. Love the dude but he's animated in this interview. I almost forgot about this race.
Does bill weber have a white necklace or is it a t shirt colar.

Crew guys always gotta ruin everything. Harvick and Kenseth were just talking and then some of the crew guys try to be heroes and act like hard asses
this was when TNT was actually decent
Better then decent
Before Bri-guy censored the broadcasters

Greg drove the #7 car?
Won 2 races in it

The 🥜 boys won
That is one of the absolute worst renditions of the national anthem I have ever seen.

Pause at 5:55 lol
1:20:55 the funny happened

Wow, that last lap move by Johnny was one of the dirtiest I have ever seen.
