Oof. Punching through that snow bridge. I agree completely with you about making sure you have enough energy in the tank to handle an emergency on the way down. You guys were right to have the discipline to not go all the way to the summit even though it was only a few hundred feet elevation further.
Also, here is a question I've wanted to ask people who are experienced with Rainier and you seem to really know what you're talking about. And please note, there is no judgement here, I'm just curious. I hear lots of people talk about "summiting Rainier" when they get to the crater. Except, the true summit is a quarter mile farther and almost 200 vertical feet up. In my mind, unless you are on the highest point on the mountain (there are mountains where this is impossible) you haven't summited. But on Rainier, people "summit" all the time but only go to the crater. Can you provide some context around how this way of thinking came about?
I disagree with that mindset. I think the true summit is the only summit. We went back a few days later and single pushed it to the crest. Video of that soon! I’ve heard that mindset from some of the guiding companies. I think that is where it started.
@@teatimeinthealpine5752 Great feedback and interesting insight. I think we align. I'll look for that updated video. Psyched on what you're doing. Love seeing the focus on what you're doing. Well done.
Loved the song while jumping on the crevasse where you fallen. Buddy is Cool guy 😃
Damn man, rainier c2c is insane. Good call turning back though. I respect the discipline
Thanks brotha!!! Kinda forces me to go back and earn it the way I want to earn it!!! Appreciate you watching!

Badass!! I have solo it but a C2C is in my goals as well!
Thanks for the awesome videos! Any plans on merchandising? That’d be cool to have one of those sweet looking hats!
Good call and respect your honesty.
Great video dude!
Thank you!!!!!
For me the Cleaver went by in a blink of an eye. It's always dark and cold, just focused on the next rock, next step.
