Merong mga words sa ilocano na kasingtunog ng Laing katulad ng nalaing at laeng. Kaya siguro natanong nyo si nanay kung galing ba sa ilocano région ang Laing. Parang familiar sa inyo ang word. Masanay na po kayo sa aming mga pinoy kung hindi maiwasang matanong kayo kung meron kayong pinay wife or pinay gf. While this might be true for some, those who understand the origins and preparation of their food would likely have a different perspective. Personally, I learned how to manually slaught*r and dress a chicken at the age of 10. I also assisted in the process of preparing pigs for consumption. Seeing the anatomy of these animals became a familiar sight for me. The most challenging task for me was cleaning and preparing the innards and intestines by hand. It often took me a few hours to ensure they were thoroughly cleaned, especially since I was doing it alone. In the province, there are numerous steps involved in this process, including turning the intestines inside out, peeling off certain parts, and scraping them clean. We also use natural ingredients to eliminate any unpleasant odors and ensure they are hygienic. I apologize if my story makes anyone feel uncomfortable.😆🤭✌ Understanding the source and preparation of my food has given me a deep appreciation for dishes like bopis and dinuguan. This knowledge allows me to enjoy these traditional meals without any sense of disgust.
@@sweetmorena I dont get why people find karenderya food unappetizing, when I was a kid then yes I'll be honest hearing that they used intestines etc. for cooking food would have disgusted me but now I realize especially after travelling in different places like Mindanao that karenderya food is literally one of the elements of the heart and soul of the culture in that part of the Philippines. Everytime we do a stopover during travel we would always eat at these types of places and you better believe that even though its super cheap the food is definitely 10/10. P.S everyone should definitely give Balbacua a try when travelling to Mindanao pramis masarap isabaw sa kanin hahaha

@@sweetmorena I dont get why people find karenderya food unappetizing, when I was a kid then yes I'll be honest hearing that they used intestines etc. for cooking food would have disgusted me but now I realize especially after travelling in different places like Mindanao that karenderya food is literally one of the elements of the heart and soul of the culture in that part of the Philippines. Everytime we do a stopover during travel we would always eat at these types of places and you better believe that even though its super cheap the food is definitely 10/10.
P.S everyone should definitely give Balbacua a try when travelling to Mindanao pramis masarap isabaw sa kanin hahaha

I’ve heard about the dish Balbacua but haven’t had the chance to try it yet. I hope to travel to Mindanao someday, just like you. I’ll definitely keep Balbacua in mind and look up the recipe to try cooking it myself. Salamat!
