I have 85% protection enabled and also a routine that turns off fast wireless charging at 60%. My phone usually lives on a wireless charger. Fast charging is on so I can top off quick if I need to by plugging in.
@jimmyispromo hi Jimmy. When you enable "Protect Battery " and charge your battery to 85%, does the phone now draw power directly from the power cable instead of the battery? I'm using a Galaxy F23 where there's no mention of it having bypass charging. I'm asking because some other features aren't advertised even though they're present, like I recently discovered it supports HDR 10, HDR 10+ and HLG. Also bypass charging would be useful for gaming since I do casual gaming if there's a chance...
Have a routine set for mine. Enables bat protect overnight to lock at 85%, then 30 mins before i wake, it turns it off to charge 100 so its ready to go.
Question: when this feature shows up on UI 6.1, will we still need to download & run Activity Launcher by Jinlong Pan ? And if we set our battery charging to 85%, do we then need to install this Activity Launcher app?
Been using routines to do this since they were introduced. What the, "experts," aren't telling you is that charging to 100% isn't what harms the battery but it's the constant on/off as the battery drains that causes heat which is damaging. The best routine is to have battery protect turn on and not off until the charger is unplugged. to do this just make a routine that keeps charging disabled.
Hi,when i plug in my Akg wired ear piece , there is a notification that says charging connected device via usb, the audio will only play through my speaker. Any solution to this?
Hopefully, these exclusive features will trickle down to other supported devices with one ui 6.5 or 7, they have done things like that in the pass where they trickle down exclusive features a year later and I wouldn't be surprised if one ui 7 trickles those exclusive features to s23 s22 and s21 series
Can someone please tell me if you can remove all the icons from the notification panel. I meam not the full panel. The upper part where they shows your notification?
I would like to have the option of doing a one time top off to 100% if I know I'm going to be away from a charger for a while and need that extra time. We go on vacation and typically drive. I would want to fully charge it before leaving the house once and then the protection can kick back in.
@@jimmyispromo Apple has a similar feature for their Mac laptops. They have a feature where if it's stuck on the charger. It will protect and stop at 80 %, but there is an option in the battery menu that says charge to full and it will do a one time. Charge 21 hundred percent that's what I wanna see
It's total gimmick I've never had an issue charging my device over night to full. I use wireless charging so it's slower while I sleep. I don't drop my battery below 40% but do charge it 100% and unplug it once it has reached that. Technology in batteries, chargers and chips have gotten better no need to go to these extremes to have healthy battery for several years. Just don't buy garbage chargers id suggest the manufacturer or something with a good reputation.
Do you really think fast charging at day is better then slow charging at night (until 80/85%)? I will continue charge the phone over night until 80%/85% with a slow charger. Slow and cool are way better then fast and hot
"You Can Get This Samsung One UI 6.1 Feature Right Now" - You can not, it is not implementer and does not work. And it might hurt your device's functionality.
Setup a bixby routine. That way you can set to upper level. Mine currently turns of at 92% or if I want, higher/lower. It's not the %100 that harms lithium, it's the heat from charging when full.
This displays a dialogue which isn't enabled yet in the system ,it will be enabled when one ui 6.1 drops, (basically its an option that's there, but isnt enabled in the system ,because samsung still is integrating it ,it will come in 6.1) For some phones its not available and I think yours is one of them, as Jimmy's works.
The protection does not work on the s22 ultra. The basic does not work. Gets to 100% and never goes down when plugged in. Never goes even to even 99%. Supposed to go to 95% then back up. Nope. Does not work. Only the maximum 80% works
@@DENVEROUTDOORMANso then the new option is worse, it takes an additional five percent and locks it at 80%. Though this does look like it might be easy enough to switch modes vs basically having to search for the one from today.
All of this nonsense can be avoided. under developer options. You can set your phone to only charge up to 85%. end of story. Don't need this nonsense under the battery thing.
I'm fine with the current setting stopping charging at 85%. This app you suggested was, for me, a waste of time. But, at least you got views and comments.

what is the method?
Fast charge for Samsung is very safe, no problem.
Further, i keep it between 10 - 85%.
4+ years, no problem 🎉🎉
Use modes and routine to enable battery protection
For example, charge till 90% and turn on battery protection
This will stop charging at 90%
I've done that but it always seems to continue doing it after the time I have set for it to go
Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Hopefully, it works. I thought I could only turn on protect battery.
Does it work? Or does it stop at 80 instead of 90@@Ravens____8LJ
My Huawei Mate 20 Pro had these features and they worked very well. I used that phone for 3 years and the battery was still great..
Hopefully the EU will force phone companies to build phone's with consumer replacement batteries. They forced them into one charging cable. 👍

no

Exactly what I do
Im planning on getting a new battery fitted in a couple of years instead of driving myself mad with percentage pondering

I use that all the time 👍👍
Me too.
if it was not yet introduced, why installing it via third parties and not waiting for Samsung to release it with 6.1?
Just wanting to show off a future feature. That's all. Super simple idea 💡 😄

Having it at 100 or 0 is when the battery is the most unbalanced with electrons it should be in the middle to last the longest
@@sawyerhumphreys4257 I still have a working note 8 that has no battery issue running down to 5% to 98%. still lasts 2 whole days.

Correct, this displays a dialog that is not enabled yet. It will be enabled when 6.1 drops.
That is correct. I also mentioned this in the video and as to why and what it is doing.

As mentioned in the video "going from 10 to 60, back down to 10 to 60" is 100% of a charge. That's 50 plus 50 equals 100. Simple math
