Thanks for doing this, MP! That was very I’m entertaining to watch! I do love playing with my dad (though, when the cameras aren’t rolling, he tends to overplay. The fans love it though so I stopped giving him a hard time about) That 3rd change in the chorus is a 5 minor, by the way. I’ll be up your way at some point. Would love to have you as a guest!
I would love that! I'm a huge fan. I think your dad is fantastic. Yeah now that I listen back I hear it. That's the thing with these videos: I don't pre listen or edit so I'm not always right... which is kinda fun because it really put the pressure on me to improve!
You know I find Marc Broussard is one of these rare musicians which I am feel that he is awesome in every musical time period. I would be a huge fan of him in thousand years from now as I would have been thousand years before. Great clip by the way.
Long time ago Marc Broussard used to open for a band my best friend played in, years later he was opening for Mariah Carey in her hey days. Marc is a big draw at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, a must see performer who always puts 100% into every performance he has. He is one of the best soul singers around.
Thank you so much for getting to my pick!.... and for fixing my pixels!LOL It's so funny, but since I started following you, everytime I listen to my playlist I think, "Oh man, Mike would love this tune!". You and the folks on this channel have the BEST taste in music! I've lost count of the new acts introduced to me watching your videos! Thanks for all you do!
Marc is great. Seen him here in Chattanooga a few times way back in the day. His Save Our Soul records of him doing old soul songs are my favorites. There are some great videos that look like session cuts. His dad wails on an ES335

My new favorite you tube channel. Been playing for 40 years and have learned more from you in a week than I’ve learned in years. And I’ve been introduced to so many new players like Marc! Thank you for being one of the good ones!!
That's the song that made me LOVE his music!!!! Excellent performance!!!!! He does an AMAZING job on "Cry to me" too!!! That Solomon Burke song SPOKE to me when he did it!!!!!
Please, PLEASE react to more of Marc! A personal favorite is "Home", but love his covers of "Twistin' the Night Away" (creative instruments!), or "Cry to ME" (with his dad)
Michael, I am so glad to have stumbled across your channel. Every video of yours I watch fuels my love for music and the guitar. Now I'm gonna try and write my own little jam in Bb. Edit: Bruh the palm mute part @ 7:50 😍😍😍
I was expecting by default a cover of the classic Gladys Knight and the Pips song with the same, or nearly the same, title, which I like and haven't heard in years. I must go listen to that one after this. But this song is relatively similar and excellent in its own right. Not my usual fare these days but (thus) refreshing. Thanks for the in-depth explanation of the chords, progressions and melodic fragments.
Memory functions in strange ways. I had in mind both Midnight Train to Georgia and Rainy Night in Georgia by Brook Benton. What would be fun would be a triple reaction to both of those songs and this one, with comparisons and contrasts - not in the sense of trying to determine which song is "best," of course, but just highlighting what makes each song great. ... The state in which I was born has inspired some remarkable music.
Oh man I’m so glad to see you reacting to Marc Broussard. My parents once stumbled upon him during some kind of festival. They bought a cd and we used to play it so much in the car. And I played this song for a diploma for the drums. This song does and always will give me a special feeling when listening to it!
