I read that since the current update was .24, they took the opportunity to call it FL Studio 2024 to start updating it every year. Next year, we'll have 2025, and so on.
The reason for the name change is so you know what year of FL studio version you have, next year it will be called 2025 etc, there's a video when you download in the forums that shows you where in Edison you can isolate vocals from noise, it's more or less an extension on of stems. for me the game change is the chord progression tool, it gets way more involved when you start digging thru the menus, but it means you can make chord progression and then play it on ur guitar.
Paradoxically, v24 seems to work better than v21 on a somewhat ancient i5 560m system that I own. Whether using *_ASIO For All_* or *_Yamaha's Steinberg USB_* or *_FL's own I/O_* as the default I/O system to connect to a Yamaha Keyboard I use as a MIDI controller, the latency is vastly improved in v24 (and yes, all settings for the ASIO/IOs are identical in both v21 and v24 such as buffer size, latency in _ms_ , etc.: I've *_triple checked_* ) I was expecting v24 to run slower than v21 but it actually runs much better as I've already highlighted. For those with powerful systems this will obviously be a non issue, but for people with comparatively weaker systems with latency issues, v24 may actually be the way to go from v21, surprisingly....

2024. This update also added Spreader and Lowlifter as native fl plugins also. Lowlifter is sort of neat for a stock plugin sort of basic adjuster. Spreader adds a little bit of quick wideness. Also the pro level deal provides a bit of kickback for $100 credit Image-Line affilitated plugins. So between that and the distrokid its not a bad deal while it runs. I am guessing something similar will be offered around the anneversary around black friday or something but $100 credit for image-line affilitate plugins and the bundle in basically gives access to the 60+ plugins and the FL Cloud samples for about $50 a year or something which is basically the price of some bundle deals for plugins/midi etc.. so not a bad deal right now. not sure if I would have gotten it but the $100 plugin credit will hopefully be able to be used if a promotion runs at some point to sweeten the deal even more. That limited time offer for the pro tier is worth considering if you were going to renew Plus as the deal is probably better than an normal plus renewal with the credit imo. I like the low lifter for quickly cutting low end or high end on cutting the high end for stuff, also setting the low end roll offs etc.. a bit like a LP filter. Id like to see them improve the stem separation feature...as far as other improvements, I'd like to see a more user friendly audio editor for recording guitar, bass, etc..FL Studio has a great piano roll, sequencer though
I've been using Ableton Live 12 for a few months and I'm very happy with it. For example the new MIDI generation system in the Stabs module allows you to create a chord progression according to the global key and I find it much more interactive and intelligent in producing progressions. FL Studio, which many find super intuitive, to me, however, often seems very complicated in doing simple things but as we know, it is subjective taste and attitude.
I think they should improve in the work flow , in the playlist we should be able rout or re-rout channels from the channel mixer inside the playlist on the individual tracks and be able see the effects we're using on and be able to access em through the Playlist tracks without going back to channel mixer
There is no freeze track option in FL Studio. However, freeze track is available in Ableton Live and other DAWs, which saves CPU. But FL Studio takes up more CPU.
I still think audio recording could improve , when recording guitar I would love an audio quantise like abletons, it would save so much time getting the perfect take

FL stated they changed the version system to correspond with the current year we are in. They said it'll help people know exactly which version is current. So next year it'll be 25 etc....
The last thing is simple but important, they should add a shortcut or make it possible to move plug ins up and down by jus dragging using the mouse on the channel mixer plug-in slots , it's easier that way than doing it manually every time you want to move the plug in up on top of the other one jus to hear the difference.
They need to add “ copy groove ” as in they should make it easy to copy a groove from an audio or midi and apply to another audio or midi, Transient shaper needs an update like the one in Ableton.
@@MediaWindowsMaker I think the FL Studio number system started as a maker of the updates, and now they're simply using the year the update was created in.
