As a celtics fan, Marcus Smart will always be a celtic. And as well be welcomed and loved back, every time he comes to Boston.
I agree sm
Great comment.
I'm a Raptors fan who publicly refers to Marcus as one of my favorite players. A lot of people are viscerally bothered by this stance. It's because he bit their home team a few times. Cobras do that. Wolverines too. I don't know how you can see what Marcus does for 48 each night and dislike his game. Being classy is definitely the way to go.
Perfect for the Grizz playstyle. can't wait to see it.
Cheers
As a huge Celtics fan I’m OK with this trade because it was time. Tatum and Brown need to be the leaders of this team plus Derek White played better on defense then smart in the playoffs.
Marcus Smart was the heart and sould of our team. Really sucks to see him go but Porzingis is a huge fit for our team. Defense, size, knock out shots. Hope he stays on the floor though. Thanks Smart for some great hustle, hope you come back in the future
I'm a casual fan from UK, but this news has broke my heart, he was by far my favourite player and seemed to me a TRUE celtic not dissimilar in attitude to the legend Paul Pierce
@@MrClemdogs I share the same feeling. So sad =/
We love you Marcus - rooting for you always!!!
Yeah losing smart sucks. But, the team will be ultimately better without him. He would still be here if Brogdon was healthy. But we needed to lose a gaurd and we needed a big, and we got so much for Smart, by gaining Porgz and first round picks etc. Again, it sucks but the team will be better (hopefully).
The ideal situation would have been to trade Brogdon instead of smart but obviously that didn’t work out so this was the next best thing. It sucks to see him go but I agree with you, the team will hopefully be better with KP. I can’t wait until we play the grizzlies at home next season, that game is probably gonna sell out so fast
Rip smart. He is definitely not in a better place now :(
What? Memphis has a good chance to win the West with Morant.
I hate to say it but the Celtics had to make tough decisions. Letting smart go was one of them.
@@coops1992yeah no they dont
That's fuccc to goto a team that feared ur old team 🤣
Marcus Smart always Boston Celtics 💪💪💪
I think that what separates Brad the Executive from all others is that he's also been a coach. He's not making decisions based solely on what he thinks, but rather on what he knows. Where former players as GMs can judge a players talent, Brad, as a former coach takes into account "the whole" of how a player fits his team... In ways that are judged beyond their talent.
Smart will ball out for the Grizzlies! Gonna miss him on the C’s!
Marcus better be back by next year.
Can't wait to see Memphis vs Boston 😁
sign josh richardson
I like that play a few mins off the bench be a mentor
is he available??
Not a bad idea, fills in a gap for us an he’s already familiar with the team. Is he even available?
You can see this was one of the most difficult decisions Brad ever had to make. Marcus Smart was the link for so many Celtics teams and he meant so much for the fanbase. But remember: Danny Ainge also traded Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Isaiah Thomas and time showed it was the right move. I think this puts even more pressure on Jaylen Brown, because his lack of basketball IQ and ability to share the ball have been real problems for this team.
showed it was the right move ? we haven't won a chip since 08 so no
@@RuneMamba he absolutely fleeced the nets for hella picks, which turned into jaylen brown and jayson tatum btw. even if we win just one chip that KG and paul pierce trade would be a fat W. especially since they were not that good anymore when he traded them and he still fleeced them anyways.
@@RuneMamba He maximized the return.
@@RuneMambawe could also not have Tatum or brown right now and kg and pierce would have long since retired and we probably wouldn’t have been competitive and in the playoffs every season. Absolutely the right move. We’d probably be a .500 team and Tatum would be a laker if he didn’t make that move
😂Just to remind you Danny Ainge was in fact actively shopping those Brooklyn picks (Tatum & Brown picks ultimately) Too Miami FOR Justin Winslow!! WHY? because he the “hype” then. LOL they called Winslow the “Lebron Stopper” 🤣🤣 Ultimately Miami Declined🤣🤣 So Luckily! Tatum decided to Enter the draft earlier then excepted, Tatum did 1 year in Duke 😈 🍀 ☘️ Boston got lucky…
Some of these comments are dumb. Yeah it sucks Smart is gone wish we could’ve kept him. But the backcourt was too full. Obviously Brogdon was their first choice and if he didn’t have the elbow injury that deal would’ve happened. Smart was the only other guard of great value they could use in a trade. With White starting and if Pritchard can improve this year with the increase in minutes he’s gonna get the team should be pretty solid. If there’s no big injuries.
John karalis from locked on Celtics getting it started like usual
Smart deserves a ring if Celtics win a championship
Porzingis can play? Ok we'll see.
dude played 65 games last season could have played more if wizards didnt tank too much and his numbers were up
@@jepoys8957glad you know the truth . Refreshing to see . Coulda easily played 70+
Very good player
Bring Smart back, PLEASE!!!!!!
Brad stevens is running the Celtics Backwards.

I’ll never forgive you for trading Marcus
Me too. Very upset about losing Marcus!!!!
Traded him on my birthday too- worst present ever

All you guys will have forgotten Smart after first 10 games when KP will show what he is made of and what he brings to the team...
Brad Stevens is playing CHESS
je croyais que les celtics voulaient gagner un titre je n'en comprends plus rien
Smart nooooooo 😢😢😢😢😢
Simply put, STUPID TRADE!
Boston loses to Philly w/o Smart. Good luck Harden ain’t done yet
Everybody mad over Smart. Get over it, we are a better team with KP.
Ohh Kp the guy who never plays
His injury record suggests he's just another player going to be out because of injury lol
@@alexanderhoncho9730 He more played more games than Marcus last year lmfao
@@BBallHoop_ Marcus played 61 games while KP played 65 last season 💀
@@Joe-it9sy you know kp is injury prone
Booooo on Brad.

Brad you are going to regret this move you can’t draft that guy is a bust
All these tears over Marcus Smart. Marcus diehards just don’t know basketball. You don’t need a “heart and soul” or “emotional leader” in a winning team. Look at the Denver Nuggets. They don’t have any of that. They all play selflessly as a team, buy in, and make the right plays. That is what it takes, not taking anything away from Marcus’ hustle and defensive skills. Most overrated is Draymond Green and his delusional supporters. The so-called emotional leader and glue guy. Just look at Denver. You don’t need a puncher, chest stomper, screamer, and dirty player to be a great playmaker. The labels of heart and soul, glue guy, and emotional leader are just terms the media coined causing fans blind emotional attachment, making them overlook some serious flaws. Golden State Warriors always prided themselves as players of high character and being egoless. After all the Draymond antics, you could say they are toxic to the core. Allowing Draymond to start physical fights with Coach Kerr with no repercussion, no serious punishment for screaming at KD or punching Jordan Poole. This is the organization that enables toxic drama. Draymond just can’t contribute without being a bitch at it.
You guys have a way in dealing with players that you claim to be really important to your organization. Isaiah Thomas and now Marcus Smart!
This smart move was not it 😔
Smart wasn’t the issue ffs 🤦♂️ trade jb and like a second round pick for Trae
He partially was. He shouldn’t be shooting the ball in the fourth quarter. Everytime he does, we play like shit. I’d rather have JT or JB in the fourth quarter than Smart. White starting will be a big deal come next season.
Trae young lolol. No one wants to play with him in the NBA. He's a bust. Celtics need a floor general
Their ball turnover issue is already bad enough and you want them to trade for a guy who's literally known for being a turnover machine? 💀
This is such a stupid comment. You obviously a casual fan with that take. Jayzuz that is a bad take.
Was hoping we could flip Jaylen for no.3 and stuff from Portland like J. Grant sign and trade plus future picks

Big mistake Celtics, if we kept IT we would've had at least one championship by now. Losing Smart is another big blow, this organization has zero foresight
Na if we signed I.T to the max he wouldn't have played and would of set us back even more
IT could hardly stay in the league after the Cs. Dumbest take I've seen in years
Stevens, the only guy on the planet who fails as a coach and gets a promotion to GM ! Can't make this stuff up. Celtics must never want to win a championship again.
Being a coach is a very different job than being a GM what the heck you talking about?
@@GameMasterAddict235the right question is what the hell is he smoking? 😂😂😂
@@GameMasterAddict235 so how many multi-million dollar jobs have you gotten with zero experience? maybe I should of asked if you are even old enough to work because I can see from your post you are not the sharpest tool in the shed.
@@freedfromdesire466So going to 3 conference finals with an extremely young team is considered failing? One of those times being with a rookie Jayson Tatum, 2nd year Jaylen Brown, 3rd year Marcus Smart. Also the two pieces they brought in Kyrie and Hayward to be the leaders didn’t play in playoffs.
Big facts
