My ancestors came to America in the mid 1700's. I truly wish schools would teach history, economics, math, reading, writing. This anger in young adults and even children are taught by indoctrination. The whole truth is never presented. They're getting cheated on how to excel in life.
We came here in 1954 with the idea of a better life and to assimilate to becoming an American in the true sense of the word American. There were no hand outs it was sink or swim learn the language spoken here and work for what you want. As an immigrant I served in the United States Army I was drafted for the Vietnam war and am proud to be a Veteran. I can not be held accountable for what happened to the American Indian or held accountable for slavery my kids are first generation Americans we were the first to come here.

His wife to be emigrated in the early 2000's after they married and they are the epitome of what you have said - very patriotic and extremely happy to be here, and very productive citizens. In addition to him working for his company for 20+ years, they have a child care business that she manages. My family immigrated from Hong Kong. We had to wait 10 years in line. Most people in Hong Kong are highly educated and usually in Science and Mathematics. But the quota for us are extremely extremely small. While the quota for untrained, uneducated immigrants are much higher. We always feel that's not good for USA. It's almost like the less productive you are, the easier it is to get immigration status into USA.

I am a United States naturalized citizen, born in Romania. I came here back in 1996, at the age of 17. I thank God, every day, that He blessed me and gave me this incredible opportunity, through my dad, to come to this amazing country. I was one of the more fortunate ones, meaning that my life in Romania was great as my parents always made sure my sister and I had everything we needed. I can say that if my dad was never assigned to work at the Romanian Embassy in Washington DC, I would probably have lived a pretty comfortable life, in Romania. With that said, I am so blessed that my path brought me to this amazing country where I was blessed to have my 3 beautiful babies and fall in love. I love this country, so much, and I pray every day that this country will continue to remain the great America I heard of before I came to it and later discovered it to be. I was a refugee more than 30 years ago, and there was a period of time when my family questioned whether coming to the United States was the right choice. Now there is no doubt it was the correct choice Nd my kids are learning the same lessons that my family learned during our immigration process. I was once a college student. I cannot believe the sheer arrogance (and ignorance) that comes with being one. They truly think and believe that only they are right in every topic, ever. No-one who came before them has it figured out, but they do. And when speakers WHO ARE EXPERTS COME TO SHARE THEIR PART they are still unable to take in an opposing argument, even if only to grow through having their philosophy challenged. Don't like the question? Just ignore it and ask another one. Don't like what the speaker says? My grandmother taught me something that I’ll never forget: There’s a reason why God gave us two ears and only one mouth. He wanted us to listen at least twice as much as opening our mouths.
Highly recommended for these types to map their own family tree and history. That exercise is a jaw-dropping educational opportunity for each person. I had no idea until I did my own. Many of us would not even be here had our ancestors made one tiny decision differently; and, then realize that many of us descend from those who were persecuted/killed in the country from which we originated... It totally changed my perspective on this issue. These kids need to stop the blame game, and take a long deep and historical walk through their own genealogy.

My question is this… Why do all these emotional young people hang their social justice warrior hats on atrocities that happened generations ago by claiming those acts are affecting people today? Devin, You mention that emotions won’t win a debate. In a real debate, where both parties are willing to actually debate, the better logical argumen will always win. What we are seeing here is the realdifference between progressives and conservattives is that progressives are emotion based while conservatives are thought based. My family immigrated from Hong Kong. We had to wait 10 years in line. Most people in Hong Kong are highly educated and usually in Science and Mathematics. But the quota for us are extremely extremely small. While the quota for untrained, uneducated immigrants are much higher. We always feel that's not good for USA.

GREAT show, Devin! Everything you e said is absolutely true. Too many young people don’t listen. They’ve grown up not having to listen. My grandmother taught me something that I’ll never forget: There’s a reason why God gave us two ears and only one mouth. He wanted us to listen at least twice as much as opening our mouths.
Highly recommended for these types to map their own family tree and history. That exercise is a jaw-dropping educational opportunity for each person. I had no idea until I did my own. Many of us would not even be here had our ancestors made one tiny decision differently; and, then realize that many of us descend from those who were persecuted/killed in the country from which we originated... It totally changed my perspective on this issue. These kids need to stop the blame game, and take a long deep and historical walk through their own genealogy.

It's a pretty dark future in my opinion. Jesus is coming soon, so maybe we'll all be out of here before we get the chance to experience that way of life and the problems that come with it.

My question is this… Why do all these emotional young people hang their social justice warrior hats on atrocities that happened generations ago by claiming those acts are affecting people today?
Granted, those atrocities were horrible blotches on our nation’s history. So, what do you want done about them now? The past is gone. Instead of screaming victim or playing oppression police, is there any solution that could correct the horrible acts of the past generations that could some how make it all better today? Someone tell us! I would love to hear some ideas.
Or; or how about not allowing the past to define you or your situation. No matter whether your ancestors past were the oppressed or oppressors. Stop abdicating responsibility for your current situation or life choices. Instead, start grinding everyday to be better than you were yesterday. Stop blaming the past for your short comings and failures now. Stop blaming the past for your crummy childhood or your crummy childhood for your situation now. Recognize that those days are behind you; that you are going to move forward and up to be better than you were yesterday. That you are an individual and not a cog in the wheel of some oppressed group. Recognize that the only person holding you back is staring at you in the mirror.
Just continuing what you’ve been doing does nothing but continue your personal misery which isn’t healthy for you or anyone around you.

It is true that liberals in general are attached to their feelings rather than the actual facts. It is very common for a liberal to "invent" a scenario not founded in reality so that they can complain about fixing a problem that doesn't actually exist. It would be nice if they could use that passion for real problems that actually exist.

You mention that emotions won’t win a debate. In a real debate, where both parties are willing to actually debate, the better logical argumen will always win. What we are seeing here is the realdifference between progressives and conservattives is that progressives are emotion based while conservatives are thought based.
We exist on two very different planes of existence. Conservatives feel something is wrong and then apply thought to analyze it and devise a solution. Progressives just feel.

I have been a professor both in Korea in this country to students from all over the world. I also have a 22 year old son. The wisdom that comes with age and life experience can not be expected from children...yes...children of this age. Sometimes the best education is very similar to Native American teaching...Listen to the elders then go experience nature. You will understand. Give God thanks along the way!
