All the really high areas are done! We have a little more on the sides. We have to get up there again with battens, but I don’t think that will be so hard.
Another day of uphill success! You guys are knocking em' down a little at a time! I know it has been a slow, and uphill slog, but just take it one day at a time! Cheers!
You both deserved the best rewards, i am building my own house too and its not easy having the longest patients. Im a visual artist so i do both house and painting for exhibit, this two are both my passions.
Wow, i saw the first video about the siding as i was starting this... And then this just popped up. I assumed it was some old video, i had no idea we were doing this at the same time, its soo funny to hear all the same stresses and concerns in the video about the weather. Love the house, was trying to skip ahead to see the battens, but guess I'll have to wait. Mine are 16 on center, but having to paint them inside at this point. About to just put it on pause for the winter.
Prep work is important and so too is team work. Jefanna awesome job facing head on your fear of heights and getting the job done. I know it’s easy to set goals and continue to work on but I always like to take a moment to look at the job done and become energized to drive on. Congratulations you two the front of the house looks great. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
I was looking back at some of our first videos from 2 years ago. So little was done and I remember how dejected I was by some of the early failures. We pushed thru them. That is really all there is to it. “If you don’t quit, you’ll finish. “.
The look of the front of the house is really good, and you both worked so hard to make it look that good and you both have done so well, stay safe and keep well, see you next time...
Your out-takes have me giggling and your work and the front of the house have me smiling and so happy for you both. You both are troopers! Jefanna, I don't like hights either so you have me beat even going up there but then at my age, I don't do anymore than a two step ladder anymore......LOL Loving the "James Hardie Fiber Cement siding"......................LOL That was so funny.......love that you keep your sense of humor even in the more stressful times and easy going times. Everything is looking great and I cannot wait to see you finish the outside.......it's just going to be so so beautiful........love your choice of "everything"............. God bless, be safe and great job!!!!
The kindest note. I am reading this at the end of my day and it brought a huge smile. I absolutely hate height especially with wind. I have to talk myself into it and not think to much. Thank you for your happy wishes. Back at you! All the happiness you can find.

Discovered your channel about a week ago. I'm in awe of the two of you. I was wondering a couple of things: 1) Did you design your new house? It's beautiful. 2) Are either of you contractors? I ask because your construction skills are incredible. My two favorite parts of your videos are seeing Apollo (I run a dog sanctuary) and "the wink." Thanks for bringing us along on your journey.
Glad you found us. Apollo comes from “Podenco Friends” Rescue in Spain. Our house was designed by a friend who is an Architect. Jefanna had dozens of pictures of features she wanted and we had several conversations about materials, and technology to make it as energy efficient as it is. We are not contractors. I had a hobby wood shop and was always a DIY project guy… and we just learned as we went.
It took me 2 days to finish this video, kept falling asleep. That wind was kicking butt up there. Am I right, do you only have the front 2 upper sides n the upper on the right of the house to finish? I know you still have the battens to do. The front looks so good. I know it's a long way off but can't wait for the landscape in front... be safe and warm... 😉
The top section on both sides and the Little inside upper of the courtyards. Have to let the soil dry out before we try to tackle that. All the snow has made it really soggy.
Really looks like you may get water running down the soffit to get behind the board. That would be such a shame. Is the filling you are applying meant to prevent this? You are both so hard working and committed. An amazing house with stunning views!!
that has been a question that several people have had, the fascia trim comes down a good half inch below the J-channel. We have a line of J-channel at the very top of that soffit, then the soffit, then another J-channel. between that -channel and the wall is the siding, and at the top of the wall we have used sipseal to protect from moisture. Am I right? only time will truly tell. I hope I am.
Planning to show the floor plan in an upcoming video. There are no tours in the plans. Hoping to have some events in the upcoming years when we have baby goats and cider.
EL FINAL DEL VIDEO 🤣😅😂😅🤣🤣😅😂😅🤣😅HAY QUE FUE ESO DE VER CAER LA CAMARA ESPERO QUE NO TE HAYAS ACCIDENTADO Y ESTE MUY BIEN Y QUE SI FUE LA CAMARA NO LE HAYA PASADO NADA PARA NO PERDER LAS IMÁGENES PORQUE NO TENDRÉ EN QUE ENTRETENERME LO HE PASADO MUY BIEN VIENDO COMO ABANZA LA OBRAS DEL SUEÑO DE UDS DE LA CASA PROPIA Y A SU PINTA

I had that concern. The only place it could happen would be the front. It is flashed and layered properly so it would have to be wind blown. The roof and fascia and soffit have been up there for 6-8 months and I just haven’t noticed any water on that front edge under the soffit. I have definitely looked.
Yes, the front area is my concern. With upward sloping soffit the rain will run down the fascia, the soffit , into the j trim and under your Hardi panels. If the panels extended up past the j trim and the j trim installed on top of the panels, there would be no issue. I watched and thought you were going to fill the gap between the panels and j trim with caulk in an attempt to keep the rain out, but you didn't. Hate to tell you this but feel I have to. You won't see the damage being done because the Hardi panels will be covering it.
Soo is Jefanna ampedextrious normally 🤔 or just when your doing siding? I'm with ya on the heights. Don't like it at all. You guys have done a great job. Your home is georgous. 🙂

Wow, you're in a t shirt and calling for snow tonight! Best of luck when you return tomorrow!
It was a crazy storm. Only a foot of snow but it completely wrecked us up here. Still have people without power a week later.
Good night Break Heart and family. Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲🙏. Am late but still here
I just asked David if he had seen you! Hope you got rest. Stay safe out there.
One more thing checked off your to do list. Yay!
All the really high areas are done! We have a little more on the sides. We have to get up there again with battens, but I don’t think that will be so hard.
Yes, it's great to be done with that area above the bedrooms. I was dreading it.

Thanks. we are pretty happy with the way it's shaping up.

Thank you. The view is always good medicine.
@@breakheartorchard i agree👍
Many years ago, the weather called for 100% chance of snow in my area. It didn't happen. No snow, no rain, no nothing.
Around here, the weather forecast is just a suggestion.
You both deserved the best rewards, i am building my own house too and its not easy having the longest patients. Im a visual artist so i do both house and painting for exhibit, this two are both my passions.
Thanks. I understand about the patience. Sometimes I just have to surrender myself to the process and focus on the task instead of my desired result.
Love this. So cool.
looking better every day you are gong to have a nice house..and you guys earned it
Thank you. That is probably my favorite thing about building this house. Feeling like I earned the comfort that he house will provide.
The place is really starting to look good
Thank you. It gets more and more encouraging every time we go up there.

Yes the winter has certainly come charging at us in the last few weeks. I have shoveled far too much snow.
nice
Thank you!
Haven't seen one of those winks in a while haha, nothing like the weather to hurry things along. Team work makes the the dream work. Have a good one.
Stay healthy and we'll see you next week.
Thanks Milt. Same to you.

The bottom right of the last panel on your left over the bedroom, doesn't look like it's nailed. As it sticks out
the top of the metal seem sticks out just a bit. Couldn't get it to adjust. will make adjustments with the batten.

Shame you didn't put switched outlets in the soffit for Xmas Future

Looked a bit windy on that roof for you Gafanna your one hell of a lady
It was definitely windy. Not so much as to be dangerous. But enough to make the job a little more difficult.
I was not a fan, but I loved the change.
I think you might have made a mistake when you said you haven't cracked siding with a hammer. 😊
