- A quick video about how I setup my crab pot for crabbing on the Oregon coast. I use the Promar TR-530 crab trap. It's a great pot for catching crabs. You can follow the link below to buy one:
Promar TR-530: amzn.to/2u2n1Iy
Pot harness: amzn.to/2tZMiTQ
Crab buoy: amzn.to/2KUd0n1
Crabbing rope: amzn.to/2ufQOg0
Some tips to help you catch more crab: August - December are best months. Incoming high tide is best (day or night doesn't matter). Chicken for bait works really well (cheap and easy to find).
just got 2 myself, they are the best just like you PK. Thank you for all your knowledge
Jus purchased this pot today thanks for showing us
Love these videos. We're taking our motorhome down the coast beginning in August. Looking forward to doing some crabbing and surf fishing (lived in the desert my whole life). These really help. Thanks!
You're the man PK, thank you. Tight lines always👍
Another wonderful video PK. Thanks for the tips!
What's up Pk! Thanks for another interesting video. Happy fishing brotha.
thanks for the links made it easy to find!
another great video. we don't get out much any more. thanks PK..
Those are a good deal. If you're in Oregon, wait for a sale at Fisherman's Marine and you can get a little better quality in the kit that comes with the rope and buoy. I think I paid $90 for that last summer.
Wow! Great job! 👍
great video PK:) thank you for the show:)
Big awesome Like for you:) Great awesome video friend👍
Fishfield in Tigard, OR. sells the same style but green color.
I use these traps and love them.
The escape rings are so the small ones can get out, don't cover them. The biodegradable, dissolving strap should be holding the lid closed.
This is correct!
Great video
nice set of pots, we tried the beach at Wakanda. got one silver perch, lots of hits so it must've been silvers, tons of sand crabs on the beach too...
I am going to Garibaldi for a week from 2 and a half hours away and I was wondering what month is a good month to go to Garibaldi for Dungeness
Is it legal to cover the escape holes with yarn? Also what are those twisty things called and were can I buy some? I want to tie down my weight to the crab pot...
Hi PK, the round trap costs more now, I checked at Amazon. So, I got the square one instead with some modifications, and I like it because it’s collapsible for easy storage. What did you use to wrap around the end of the clips? Do you know any good area in Northern California for crabbing without using the boat? Thanks you.
Been eyeing this pots for awhile, since you started using them. We still use the old school Danielson folding traps with modifications. Do you think there’s an advantage of round pots vs square pots? Maybe a comparison video would be cool. Take care my friend. Thanks for being such a great inspiration.
Don't think there is any advantage of round pots over square ones. A comparison video between the 2 would be a good idea. I will try to make one
PK Yi - Sounds great! If you somehow wanted to work together on that we could provide the square pots if you don’t have any.
Soooooo, the Crab pot attaches to your boat as the crab pot just floats or does the crab pot sit on the bottom?
It was attached to a buoy.
Would it work in southern California? Am new to this
The blue pots work anywhere that has dungeness crabs.
What size is your float? , and is it an inflatable ball or full from the factory?
How much...
Any idea where to buy the decoy clips, and what size are they?
PK, whats' a good crab pod for blue crabs on the East Coast.
PK, I’m a beginner crabber. What’s the best way to find the spot you set your crab pots? Mark them on a fish finder? If I set my pots and then go fishing somewhere else, I want to make sure I can find them again. Thanks.
Yes, just mark the spot on your fish finder (for ocean crabbing). For bays I don't do that because it's pretty easy to find them by land marks.
PK Thanks
Hey PK, nice seeing this video I thought maybe you had retired from RUclips. LOL
not retired yet. the fish just won't cooperate
Bagus saya suka di denpasar bali ada om barangnya
Non Collapsible
But You Can Shove Things in It
Hello PK, what size are those decoy clips?
They are 5" long
How do you attach the decoy clip to your line?
It's spring loaded and simply clips on.
yea ... thats soooo not the price of that pot... try more like 190 bucks...ROFL 🤣 JUST FOR THE POT!!!!
Hello. Where are you from? I am wondering if your shipment can be international. I live in Micronesia.
