    Like the Bob Ross of tent sealing there Ant... I've done 2 lanshans and a banshee(had ember damage from previous owner) I dont bother diluting it but always use the mcneils stuff. its really good for repairing tiny holes too in tents

      Oh nice one, it's not bad to do is it pal, especially this kind of weather. Yeah I've repaired holes too with it on my tarps. Thanks pal!

    Great vid! But my thinking is , if paying hard cash, I want it to work straight away no nonsense!

      Thanks matey, yeah I think they would definitely stick another £50 on top of the original price then and they are trying their best to keep the cost down for us, can't blame them I reckon mate.

      Another very creditable and very, very reliable tent, I've had the fortune to try this tent out, loved it!

      That's it but if they have to seam seal they the price would have to go up unfortunately for the reasons I've said, man power, renting/buying of warehouses to get this done 👍

    Hi ant so just caught up with this vid .
    So you decided to just use the seam sealer neat .and not diluted in the end .
    Did the consistency change as it dried in your pot before applying or was it the hand sanitizer reacting with the sealer do you think ?
    Also last question if using it neat .will there be enough in the tube for the whole tent .
    Cheers out in mine in 2 weeks .

    • @AntSurviveTheNight
      @AntSurviveTheNight  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Rufus, yeah I used in neat after it started to clog with the white spirit. I wasn't risking it mate. Yes, thicker but a lot more straight forward putting it on, I never had to go back over it to get rid of the bumps.
      Definitely enough mate, I used about 3/4 tube but bare in mind I emptied the first lot out. Thanks matey 👍

    Eh up Ant mate. Was just working out what you were carrying to make the videos and fair play fella, that's some haul. I hope you weren't far from the car to carry all that. I am taken away with that spot though, fantastic. Looks a place at top of the county next the county of Cumbria. I could do with attending to a couple o' my tents. First thing I tend to do when i get tents is spray it to death with NikWax. Valuable information mate, new campers would be good to learn right off the bat. Cheers

      Hi Mark, yeah I packed a lot but yeah very close to the car on these coasts which is a benefit considering haha. Yeah your heading in the right direction there Mark matey. Yeah good on you pal, looking after your gear and it will look after you. Thanks buddy!

      Hi Ant
      Years ago we used to carry a candle to wet proof our tents by rubbing it over the seams and Canvas .
      Now days I used a solution of white spirits and clear silicone .just make sure it's runny enough to soak in .

    • @AntSurviveTheNight
      @AntSurviveTheNight  7 месяцев назад

      Haha fab idea, why not eh! I certainly went through that silicon so gonna have to get another tube I reckon
