I really dont think Bluey is all about nostalgia, but they help teach the adults about ways they could approach different topics and parenting styles while at the same time helping children understand tougher concepts.
yeah to me Bluey is just as much of a guide to parents as it is a guide for children. There are some parts for me that felt nostalgic, but it was more seeing the kids playing games I did when I was a kid (like when they played "What's the Time, Mr. Wolf?") or seeing them eating fairy bread at birthday parties and playing pass the parcel. Just those sorts of little things, reminding me of my childhood as an Aussie. The rest is absolutely escapism. 26:16 I'm a Catholic, I've grown up going to the Catholic church. The priest, pastors, and nuns there are so welcoming to anyone and everyone. At one point I told a pastor about my desire to take a break from going to church because it started to feel like a chore than actually going to see a friend, I was afraid that he might shame me for it but instead he told that if that's what it feels like to me then I SHOULD take a break.
When it comes to child voice acting I thought it had more to do with puberty. If a series goes on for years, with the characters themselves not aging, the actors voice itself will start to change. It's also why it's more popular for women to voice young boys in cartoons than boys themselves do it unless the character ages too
There’s a reason they censored the Argentinian character. Firstly, they didn’t censor fact that they’re from Argentina, they censored the character by making them a hitchhiker. In the uncensored version, the character is a worker nomad. Basically doing small jobs one day then moving on to the next. In the United States, that can be illegal. Hence the reason for the censorship.
I know that one particularly infamous censorship of recent was one that was about Bluey's parents (or at least her dad) wanting to exercise after weighing himself and apparently that was offensive to people with weight issues apparently. So stupid.
No, it wasn't offensive to people with weight issues. The issue was that it might encourage body image issues in impressionable children. The ones who voiced concerns that caused the edit were nutritionists who have seen the effect of negative implications of body image on young children, seeing children developing eating disorders at younger and younger ages. It's a legitimate concern when you consider kids are called fat (even if not) as a way of bullying or if their BMI is a little higher (but their weight itself is fine). Even parents are careful when weighing themselves and thing weight loss to exercise when it should just be all about being happy and healthy.
@tranatkikomi6873 100% this, I thought the same as most people, that it was unnecessary. But my wife explained it to me this way, that maybe I don't feel the impact of simple statements like this, but there are many people who these small moments make a huge difference in their lives growing up. Knowing people with life long eating disorders and seeing what it's done to their lives, she had a very different perspective. And while it sounds outlandish to most of us, when producing such a hugely influential show, we need to consider this impact on what could be a lot of children.
@@tayb4812 I find myself wishing they didn't cut the entire scene, just editing it so it was less about weight itself and more on the whole Bandit wants to exercise, Bluey asks why he can't, he says he has no time, she asks if exercising makes him happy and wouldn't his boss want him to be happy, and that leads into their workplace game. The great thing about Bluey is that pretty much every episode will have a moment where things just resonate. A great example of this is Born Yesterday, where Bandit pretends that he was literally born the day before. Most of the episode is general silliness, along with Bandit challenging the girls with some hard to explain concepts, (e.g. what it means to be alive, why people have posessions) with the ultimate goal of helping them understand how people with more life experience may understand things that they currently don't. However, there's a moment where Bingo and Bluey bring Bandit to the park, and when he holds up a leaf and starts asking them questions about it, they encourage him to pause and enjoy the experience of seeing the leaf. As he does, the show goes into hyper detail of the leaf, showing the veins, the midrib and eventually the cuticle in rich and vibrant detail. As Bandit takes the time to look, he says with his voice filled with wonder, "Alive...". It's something that really resonated with me: the joy in taking that moment of mindfullness and not just focusing on something as simple as a leaf, but actually enjoying that process rather than treating it like another task.
19:30 They wanted to do that but the tax companies lobbied and created an organization with a bill that as long as this organization exists the government won’t do your taxes for you. There’s a show called “Adam Ruins Everything” that had an episode on it.
It’s not just that. It’s also different groups of rich people deliberately making things as complex as possible in order to preserve loopholes they can abuse to lower their own taxes. That’s why things like itemized deductions exist, instead of having just the automatic standard deduction. Note what sort of things appear on a Schedule A and how much of that you need before it becomes worth it to even try and itemize instead of taking the standard. The single biggest one is mortgage payments, housing taxes, etc. Sure, you could try to rely on things like medical expenses…but it’s actually really limited in terms of what you can claim, and your bills would have to be truly catastrophic to make it worth it. It’s not as simple as “this one evil company wants to screw everyone over.”

In Australia, our taxes are automatically deducted from our paychecks (casual employees are more complicated, as well as owning your own buisness). At the end of the financial year, we confirm our employment details, disclose any extra money we may have made, as well as any deductions you want registered, and boom, you're done. Honestly, I don't understand why the US makes it so much more complicated than it needs to be.

Lotta good stuff was taught to me, my church even felt like it meant it, and it pains me to say this like I'm bragging but... not a single pedo priest ever known in that parish. 19:30 They wanted to do that but the tax companies lobbied and created an organization with a bill that as long as this organization exists the government won’t do your taxes for you. There’s a show called “Adam Ruins Everything” that had an episode on it.
Bro listens to Adam ruins Everything 😂😂😂😂😂😂
30:02-30:03 After watching a couple Caddicarus videos on it, true. Same with Caillou.
bluey is fire imo 🔥
Caillou isn’t dying of cancer. He is cancer.
32:13
Lilo & Stitch reference
Out of all the things I was expecting from this video, I was not expecting anything involving Homestuck
30:22 Finally someone else noticed Karkat!
30:35 I'm pretty sure that's toasty a character from James show oddballs
Blues taught me more about religion than God’s not Dead.
How did I NOT notice Karkat 💀
I demand a reaction to full Bluey episodes!
27:00 ya here's the thing i say to people that act this way, "so you want to spend your after life with satan?, alright got it have fun with that 'all mighty believer', bye", because no, im not dealing with trash people
If Calliou had cancer, then the cancer better hurry up
In Australia, our taxes are automatically deducted from our paychecks (casual employees are more complicated, as well as owning your own buisness). At the end of the financial year, we confirm our employment details, disclose any extra money we may have made, as well as any deductions you want registered, and boom, you're done. Honestly, I don't understand why the US makes it so much more complicated than it needs to be.
feel like bluey doesn't grab adults with nostalgia per se. feel like it ends up grabbing folks with its charm and hooks in people with unrecognized (and recognized) past trauma (developed through their childhood) with its ability to heal some of their personal inner child (because we see the parents in the show be available for their kids in a way a lot of folks didn't get to experience)
Waiting for Bluey reaction. Specifically Season 2, but fully watch the entire thing for lore context
Also watch the Australian version because it's so much better without censorship
34:58-36:35 This is what made me laugh the hardest when I first saw this reaction.
Caillou's Original Voice Actor Died in Car Crash.
3:43 I just laugh at that why did I laugh
I knew James was going to see that episode from two sides... raised Mormon though apparently lapsed, _and_ a total science geek. I know a few people raised Mormon who caught openmindedness and they tend to act like 'if this was how their religion actually worked _I_ would go take some LDS!' (I think my current religion is 'my opinion of what Catholics should be like'. Lotta good stuff was taught to me, my church even felt like it meant it, and it pains me to say this like I'm bragging but... not a single pedo priest ever known in that parish. I went to another parish and three homilies soured me on the parish and possibly the religion for good. /aside)
Bluey is shuch a great show
That wasn't the brave little toaster it was the character toasty from Oddballs
Um wasn’t Argentina one of the stops for the Nazi rat lines they used to escape after they lost WW2??
Yeah, but so was Brazil, the US, the USSR and a bunch of places.
35:57 Nice reference, Nick
My church is running out of pews to sit people lol! We did get a new priest though and he's a lot different from our previous one!
I'm now completely convinced that James is a closet furry. He's an artist, he's expressed an interest in anthropomorphic animals, and finally he's been to at least one furrcon
"Closet"? Doesn't he literally post images where he is casually wearing a fursuit on Twitter?
@Painocus one, I don't use Twitter and two I'm pretty sure he's never flat out admitted to being a furry
idk if owning a fursuit having a fursona and going to furry conventions publicly makes someone a "closet" furry
I'm pretty sure the first voice actress for Caillou died cause a truck rammed into her while she was driving
Even if that Theory is true nate (which I highly doubt it) it wouldn't matter because you can give annoy charactor something tragic to make you have sympathy for them, but it won't make it better charactor.
I still can’t believe this show is more popular in the US than Big Bang Theory and South Park
Walt Disney had problems with the Argentinian animator Quirino Cristiani, he was one of the first animator in the world... Maybe that's why?
I love child voice actors!
Bluey can actually teach everybody stuff, Caillou doesn't really you anything I can remember even one thing that show taught me when I was young the only thing I remember as a kid was wanting to put tape over his mouth so he can quit being a brat
Thomas the Tank Engine(The Railway Series, Seasons 1-5, & Project Tiger Moth) should also be an S-Tier kids show!
I think we should get a couple Bluey react videos. At least pick a few of the higher rated or controversial ones.
27:24... I may be a Christian, but i don't get the joke... Could someone explain this to me plz? 😅
26:15 I agree with you with every word. ✝️
I gave one piece a fair shake of 500 episodes, just couldn’t get into it ☹️
5:12
Thanks Caleb❤❤
Thanks caleb
Thanks Caleb
What's the name of the game we saw them play in the beginning of the intro?
When did you three record this video
26:56 and THAT is what using the Lord’s name in vain means
What would renegades look like as bluey characters?
If we find out what their favorite dogs are, I’ll absolutely draw that.
37:19 I’m British and no lol
Do Bluey reactions
Dude, have the same venom shirt and was wearing it today. what the fuck
nothing is wrong with furries
Huh, I truly interesting Show, i wonder what’s next for it?
Also, MatPat has made a Video about this Show too.
Don't know why the hell irs turns the situation they gave us into game
James is a furry btw
I don't feel any nostalgia from bluey at all, I just really like the way the stories are written
Cool cool, love odd1sout
Aer you sans Because you have San's music in the background
Bluey is da shit 👌
Watch 5 episodes and tell me you didn’t watch 5 more.. then 10 more… Then 20 more….. then all of it😂
Yeah there are people who really don't like Homestuck.
Homestuck was a mistake.
And the vaping on screen is an out for me. Bye!
Bro you guys have a degree in yapping Sorry I'm a hater😅
Bluey is the reason why God abandoned us
Just so you know Nate, No. Cailou is NOT a cancer surviver! They poked fun at this fact in an episode of Family Guy!
