I just finished watching this drama. Gladly and proudly watching The Crowned Clown even though it has been 2 years ago this drama aired. It has such a perfect chemistry characters especially the main 3 Yeo Jin-goo, Kim Sang-kyung and Lee Se-young. The chemistry and connection between Ha Seon and Haksan is just like a father and a son. I keep repeating to see the last episode 16. I just can’t accept why the director made the Haksan character died. Cause I hate it! Because Haksan is the key character that build up the story. It shouldn’t be ended like this. At first, I was thinking that there’s gonna be happy ending for these 3 characters. It means that The King rules the country with the help of Haksan as Chief Royal Secretary) and also the Queen who will support the King. I am really upset with the ending. 😢 Anyway, well done Yeo Jin-goo, Kim Sang-kyung and Lee Se-young! I hope to see these three actors collaborate again in the next upcoming series. I’ve thought about the ending as well and I don’t believe he died. She said, “Am I dreaming?” He said, no. It was implied that he had been in a coma for 2 years which is why he was delayed in seeing her. Perhaps, he wanted to be presumed as dead or else he would be hunted down all his life. Your thoughts?
He died to keep Ha Sun on the throne and Ha Sun went and abdicated anyway 😤 I knew Haksan had to die so that Ha Sun could learn to rule without his help, and then it all ended up being for nothing. I sobbed when Haksan started using honorifics towards him for the first time, acknowledging him as his king. I feel like he would be very upset if he knew Ha Sun had abdicated to someone that he knew nothing about other than that he was of royal blood and who was introduced to the audience for 5 seconds and is never seen again after that. I was hoping that Ha Sun would continue to rule and become even more capable and that the queen would find that she wasn't infertile after all and they could start a new royal line together.
Ngl I was more invested with the king and his loyal subjects than with the king and the queen. I just don't feel the chemistry with the king and queen. I love how this drama is not heavily centred with romance.
