I swear in about 2-3 months time, Frazey and The Be Good Tanyas have totally become my favorite artists ever.... I get stuck on their music for days ..... searching youtube for rare live performances like this ... Her voice reaches deep in my soul and her words inside my heart, mind and soul... Absolutely AMAZING is not sufficient to describe her and them.. because the other girls with her in TBGT's have amazing voices and skills- they are absolutely my favorite, period. I received some life changing news a couple of days ago and I need to change a lot of things in my life. While I am doing so I will be listening to a lot of Frazey Ford. Her music is healing music.
I spent the entire sixties riding around in FBM submarines.............when I got out in '69. I was clueless about the new culture that had taken over my age group! To me, it was just a wonderful, pent up oppurtunity to party forever.............at the cost of my family and two children. It took a decade and the love of a truly remarkable woman to recover from that time.....................when Frazey sings this song, it is a very accurate and succint acount of what I, and millions, experienced!! She sings from a place of grace and wisdom that is extremely rare.
Possibly the most beautiful rendition of this song. Or of ANY song I've ever personally heard....and I've heard A LOT of different music. This is on my list for the best 10 songs (interpretation's) ever recorded. Breathtaking!
