I really love this dynamic, certainly one of the best enemy and hero relationships I've seen in media for quite some time. Even though One was just using her, El still tried to appeal to him and I love her so much for that. I don't think there's anything redeemable about One, or anything salvagable. It'll be interesting to see if there is next season. Vecna/One was SUCH a good villain.

This is one of the best El and Henry videos out there without creepily shipping them and yet capturing the exceptionally strange relationship shared by these two.

It was so exciting and horrifying at the same time to get known the big bad of entire series. That was a great twist. It scared me when I thought how evil El would be if she didn't have support of friends and family. Henry/One/Vecna is so powerful and he's the first child - El is eleventh child and she's even more powerful.
It really was! I figured he was the one behind all of this because it made too much sense. Pretty much called it once I saw 4x07 because of his obsession with spiders and seeing the Mind Flayer looking like a spider. It just all fit in place and adds so much nuance to me. Because why would this random cosmic entity be having beef with a little girl for no reason, you know? For the big bad to be One... oh, boy, it was so good. I'm excited for their rematch, and El's going to wreck him next time.
Exactly! El easily could've fallen to a darker path if she didn't have so much love for her family and friends. It still gets to me that even as a small child, faced with the choice to join him, she chose to reject him. She's always been so good. ;A; I can't wait to see more of this dynamic next season. I just want s5 now LMAO.

The biggest difference, the first difference between One and Eleven is that, Henry was a borned psychopath. He didn't have real emotions, he could play emotions convincingly and manipulate people to gain something, but he despised them. He hurts animals and people the same way. He didn't want, didn't need love, friendship, family. He just want to hate, despise, hurt, kill people, 'till he gain something from it.
El isn't. She different, but on another way. A more understandable way. She don't like hurting people, she don't gain anything from it. She just lose things, people, herself that way. Just what we see at the rolling rink.
To use her abilities to wrong things, to hurt anyone at anyway, it's make her hurtful, feel guilty. It don't make her more, just less.
I really curious about the 5th season, how will they play down this epic battle in this blurred, collapsed dimension. 🤩
I really hope it ends with Vecna finally meeting his end as well as a happy ending for Eleven, I mean after everything she's been through... I swear I will confront the Duffer brothers if they kill her off! I also hope Dr. Brenner does not return because he cared for nothing but Eleven's power and he was indirectly the cause of a good portion of Hawkins being destroyed
I'll really quick you correctly there. Vecna doesn't just WANT to hate everything for no reason. He resents the world because he felt alone in his fears, and those fears turned into hatred, when the world didn't accept his curiosity, differences, etc. He found other ways and that led to him lashing out at the world, and becoming filled with so much rage and hate. He wasn't born that way, no good villain is. And if he was, then there was still hope for him to become a good person, but the world didn't accept him and his hatred grew and grew. Now he feels nothing but hatred and anger. And his philosophy is what makes him move towards his world-ending goals. And honestly, he has a point, but killing an entire civilization is never the right answer. He doesn't view himself as the hero or the villain of his own story, but he views himself as the only one who sees the truth. But he is, just like a lot of good villains, a hypocrite.
He hurt people and animals the same way that the people he hate do. And he wishes full control over everything, just like the unnatural structure he so despises, and he plans on making a world far worse than the one we already live in, which is saying something. And he also gets a sadistic pleasure from tormenting his victims. All this hypocrisy, hatred, murder, sadism, and his god-complex are what make him a good villain. He isn't the type of villain with 0 redeeming qualities, nor is he the overly pitiful villain who doesn't seem like a threat anymore when you learn his/her backstory. He's somewhere in the middle. While the two I mentioned could be good villains (A good example is the nowhere king from centuarworld, who has a really sympathetic backstory but still manages to be a great and fantastic villain, except for the lack of threat. I personally believe he is either >Vecna or =Vecna in terms of writing, because there is so much more to his character than just "I'm so depressed, so fear me!" The nowhere king is a really good commentary on self hatred and not fitting in, and a good parallel to the main protagonist.), there is much more potential in a villain who's right in the middle, and it makes for a far more complex character than "I'm evil for no reason and i wanna take over the world haha LOL EZ" or "I'm so depressed and emo and sad, and that makes me want to make others feel the same way because I'm so emo haha LOL EZ"

Um, ew no. He looked like he was in his 30s while she was 8 years old. I'm pretty sure 001 was meant to resemble a big brother or father to Eleven.
