I am convinced that what you need to win valorant is genuinely having fun with your teammates, I was playing yesterday and at the start we weren't talking (I'm EU so there's also a language barrier for comming) and suddenly we started having fun and laughing and we turned a 2-8 game to a 13-10

You talked about the matchmaking not making sense, and I’ve felt that more and more this act in particular. I’m silver 3 and I’ve gone against two plats already this act. I also had an all silver team, and my opponents were all gold. They just put anyone anywhere at this point.
You either queue at late hours or your hidden MMR is so high the game thinks you (+ someone in your 5 stack) deserves gold/plat. It makes sense if you know how it works
I mean I have a positive K/D and win rate so maybe the game is seeing if I deserve gold, but getting 30 bombed by someone 4 ranks above you is rough
I’m p3 playing against a, team that has an immortal 3, 2 ascendants and the rest p3, but I’m playing with one diamond 2 player but the rest all under diamond, how is that fair?
edit: I’m not even that good I drop around 12-19 kills a game max and I’m not even positive in KD most of the times but still I get queued with these players

The reason I dropped cypher as my main and went neon was because my impact doesn’t show up on the leaderboard as cypher. And the game does rate you based on performance so yeah no wonder everyone who loves sentinel suddenly switches to duelist and loves it. Get rewarded for your good plays it’s such a wack system
