In this video we make an awesome at home spa gift, massage candles!!
The recipe is super simple. The recipe is comprised of 3 equal parts of Soy Wax, Cocoa or Shea Butter, and a Carrier Oil. Add a little vitamin-E for added benefit, then scent it with the fragrance oil or essential oils of your choice and you're all set!!
Recipe for Four 8-ounce candles:
4 8-ounce candle tins
ECO-14 wicks
11 ounces of soy wax
11 ounces of cocoa butter or shea butter
11 ounces of the carrier oil of your choice
just a touch of vitamin-E
2 ounces of body safe fragrance oil
or
60-100 drops of the essential oil(s) of your choice
Combine the soy wax, cocoa butter, and carrier oils - heat to 180-degrees(F), remove from heat and add vitamin-E and fragrance oil, let cool to 140-degrees(F) and then pour your candles.
Substitutions of carrier oils can be made by using, grape seed oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, wheat germ oil, sunflower oil, sweet almond oil, etc...
Here are a few awesome essential oil blends:
Citric Rush: 10 drops bergamot, 10 drops grapefruit, 10 drops lemon, 10 drops orange, 5 drops jasmine, 5 drops ylang ylang.

I swear this is the most underrated RUclips bio ever!! You took the time to research all the places that people can buy their goods😭😭😭 You are so precious😭😭😭 I don't even stay in America yal better be thankful for this sweet man😭😭😭
Loved the dramatic pause after you said Or....... a nice romantic treat for your loved one. Thanks again for a great video!
Speaking of me being new to candles....IE; my other comment Not for business. I'm in the process if making bath and body sets for a veterans group. They asked me to make 200 gift sets with homemade soap, lotion, candle, bath bomb, bath salt, & a lip balm to give to the veterans. As you know these homemade products are expensive, and many can't afford them. I made all of these products separately, and, donated them in the past, except, the candles. THANK YOU for such great teaching. I am not a candle maker, and it's not just melt, color scent and pour. It's a very real craft/art form. I'm still watching and learning, but, hopefully by the time I make the sets, I'll know how to do it.
Thank you Thank you. 😁
I have a recipe I’ve used recently for massage candles and it was 16oz of Wax and 12 oz of combined cocoa butter and carrier oils. I tweaked it to this recipe and I’m so very pleased with it. Much much better combination of wax and oils and butters with your recipe. Thank you for sharing.
LOL Tim you are the best... That pause at the end had me dying!
Thank you Tim!! I have watched several videos and by far this is the best. Big thanks for the recipe and the list of where one can purchase supplies, listed by state. I am so excited to try making massage candles!!!
I think that ending made me fall in love with you lol lol lol.
loved it so quick and simple.
I love watching your videos ❤
This was Awesome Tim, thank you as always for your time and videos.
Thanks for watching!
Luv this easy version! Thanks for making this video! Your personality is awesome!
Love this one.
Thanks mate.
This was so good Tim!! A great tutorial, simple with great demonstrations!! God bless your business!
You're a great instructor. Thank you.
Thank you so much, one of the best videos out there of making massage oil candle.
Thank you for the list of items 😊
Love the ending🤣❤
This is amazing. I can't wait to try it!
Very helpful once again! Thanks so much!
This was exactly what I needed and the ending 😂🤣😂 whew
I may be new to candles but, I'm a 35 year soap and body product makers. Cocoa butter is really nice, and healthy, but, Shea is much healthier for the skin. Just saying.
Can you do this with both?? Both would be even better. Also if your using a pure essential oil, you have to be sure it's skin safe as well. The aroma essential oils are NOT usually skin safe. They should say x3 or higher for skin safe, which means they have been distilled 3 times or more. Aromas have only been distilled once, and can be very irritating to skin. For FOs just look for soap safe. That means they are skin safe.
That's y you use the carrier oil so you don't get the skin irritation from the essential oils I believe
Thank you so much. I can’t find unscented cocoa butter anywhere and I always use cocoa butter with Shea butter but this helped me a lot
Cocoa butter is naturally scented to smell like chocolate which is probably why
You're awesome brother !
Good Video. Which Soy Wax did you use or recommend?
Awesome
Thanks for watching!
How long does it take for the candle to solidify?
Tim could I add less carrier oil? I tried this and it never tried stayed watery
Just great! Thank you.
Hello,
Do wait till you have a full melt before you blow out your candle? If so what is the time it takes for a full melt pool? I make mine with a wooden wick and takes approximately 20 minutes.
Thanks for answering my question.
Quick question, once the it reaches the melt pool, and if I dont use the melted oil completely for massaging purposes, will it go back to its solid form?
Will the ingredients turn the candle colors due to it being in a tin container.?.meaning will it cause it to rust
@timberridgegifts do you think this recipe would work as wax melts?
Hey Tim can you do a video on wick testing? I have read so many things that just give me more questions than answers.
Stay tuned: gathering supplies and that will likely be my next video
How would you add CBD?
Hi, for the carrier oil are you measuring in fluid ounces?
Can you do the same thing with BEESWAX and COCO BUTTER?
Hmmm, I haven't tried but my guess would be no. Perhaps with a cosmetic grade beeswax. But candle grade beeswax tends to have a tacky feel to it that may not work well when trying to rub it in to the skin.
do you have to use soy wax for these candles or can you use parasoy?
How do you weight your oil and wax, I used your recipe but with shea butter and mine won't set up.
I want to know as well i used the same ingredients but i used Shea butter and it’s still soft
@@celetiawilliams5885 I used Shea butter as well and mine doesn't set at all, it's completely liquid and cold..
good looking man
What kind of Wicks did you use ?
Is it ok to use both shea butter and coco butter? 16oz soy wax, 16oz cc butter and 16 shea butter 16 is of carrier oil??
Decrease the volume of the recipe & test the blend you are questioning about until you get your own personal, preferred blend of butters & waxes.
Where did you buy your shea and coco butter?
Amazon I believe.
Is there a particular brand of soy wax we should use? I use golden brand 444 for my candles, but I would like to use it for massage candles as well if that’s possible to do.
Can you use coconut wax as an alternative for the soy wax
Yea
Which soy wax is best?
Is it supposed to give a hot throw at all when burning? Mine isn’t.
What's the scent throw like?
How do you come up with the equation? I would like to tweak this formula for a 4 or 6 oz tin.. how would I do that?
So use 8 4 oz tins instead of 4 8 oz tins.
Math & common sense 😂
@@sjt4689 thanks smart ass! Your comment isn't needed I figured out the answer two years ago! Look at the date!
What type of glue do you use for your glue gun?
What type of soy wax did you use ?
Whatever happened to Tim? I miss his videos.
Since its made of soy wax, does it need to cure for a period of time before selling to a customer?
1-2 weeks
🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰
I have a question if you or anyone on here can help me please, I made a massage candle with Gw 415, Shea butter, Coco butter, coconut oil, mango butter, & fragrance oil. Poured at 135, and cured 24 hrs, and my tops are not smooth, can someone please help me what am I doing wrong?
Is the soy wax 464?
Did he use 464
Have you tried using doterra essential oils they are the best essential oils I’ve ever used they work amazingly we have a dedicated to things like this ours are truly from plants, roots, trees, etc. store bought essential oils have other things mixed into them that isn’t from the plants and they tell you mostly not to put them on children ours you can I have put them on my child since he was born
+KyDiaH Skyes so you have a company that makes the essential oils? Feel free to drop a link to your website. I’d love to check them out! 😀
Timber Ridge Gifts it’s not my company I just buy from them my mom sells the oils for them her link is www.watervalleymom.com then click the tab of essential oils or you can go straight to their website doterra.com
Make sure fragrance is skin safe. Not all candle scents are.
Nice hands. . ..
Oh lord I don’t know what I did wrong but mine looked like white vomit with chunks. Ugh 😫
I tried it and make a mistake somewhere, it came out real oily...bummed
Me too. I can’t find anywhere how to troubleshoot. I tried arrowroot powder and steric acid with no luck
Can you use a massage oil base?
