  • Something Special really lived up to its name with a number of first time encounters for us including an Atlantic yellow cowrie, juvenile frogfish, a black point sculling crab and what may be a Sterrer’s cave shrimp. (Still checking on that one, though.). The shallows are great during the day, but absolutely awesome at night.
Other highlights include a grazing turtle, sharptail eel coming out of its burrow, a juvenile sand diver burying itself in the sand, squid
It’s one of the easier dives on the island as well, although parking can sometimes be an issue as it is quite limited. But well worth the effort.
We want to encourage more shore diving, so this video provides some guidance where the site is, how to dive it and what you may see there. If you want to skip to or review specific topics, the section timings are as follows.

Thank you so much Leslie. (My favorite name, by the way.) We're glad you enjoy them. We're working on Aquarius now. :-)

SOO helpful! We looked for the entrance marker yesterday for quite a while with no luck. This made it super clear where to go. Thank you!

A great spot to dive. We stayed right across the street a few years ago.

Very jealous as that would be a terrific house reef!

Your videos are great... but maybe try to let up on the super enunciation a bit...

      You know, that's fair. :-)
I struggle hearing my own voice and when I play it back against the bubble track and music, I think the ends of words get lost. I am starting 1,000 Steps today, so I will commit to reading the script "normally" and hopefully others will chime in on the change. (Or perhaps it is a beloved signature style... ;-)
