Would removing the intake plenum need the car to relearn or is that just for the throttle bodies? Im at 90k miles and want to do full gasket replacements for the peace of mind😂 4:47
For 370z you don’t need to buy new valve covers all you need to do is get a new valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals they are serviceable on VHR but they are not serviceable on 350z’s
Great vid! Very informative. Quasi related question ... I have a 2010 G37. My son drove through a puddle last night, and shortly afterwards, started getting a rough idle/misfire and threw a check engine code (p0303). Looks like the ignition coil on cylinder 3 (based on the info from the code reader). Is there any possibility the issue could be somewhere else in the electrical system in front of the coil? If so, what might that be? Thanks in advance!
@@BalancePointMedia thanks for the response ... turned out to be the #3 ignition coil. Did a self diagnosis by swapping the 1 & 3 coils, cleared the codes, and then drove until it threw another check engine light. Code then showed the #1 cylinder misfiring. Dropped a new spark plug and coil on #3 and issue was fixed! Your video helped immensely!
I’m at 113,000 miles on my g37 would you recommend just doing plugs as opposed to plugs and coils? Just don’t want to spend extra money if I don’t need to. (Just trying to do normal maintenance, not experiencing any issues.) thanks for any info and also subscribed. Great content!
@@Z-lothey brother, I have a 2012 G37xS coupe too. I got about 160k on mine, just installed some spark plugs, took a look at the coils and they’re still OEM and still going strong! If you don’t need to change the coils, I’d say just skip it bro. They’re kind of pricey, but if you got the money and you’re doing the plugs, then go ahead. I just changed my plugs bc it was time to change the belt out.
@@DefivntI wouldn’t recommend this if you don’t want to be stranded. It’s basically a gamble We inspected my packs when I did the plugs for this video and they looked fine and less than 1000 miles later I got a random misfire and had to tow to a shop to replace all my plugs because Indey and I didn’t have the time to do the job at that point. Ran me extra time labor and tow that I wouldn’t have had to spend if I did plugs at the same time. Even at the shop I tried to save by order only one bank side of packs but it didn’t solve it, I had to get all 6 I’d say 120k shouuuld be ok but where I was at around 145-150k and 12 years in I definitely should have just done packs at the same time It’s totally possible that the packs will last much longer but in my case I was unlucky lol

It's our understanding that the vq motors dont actually need timing adjustments. This is definitely the case with the vq37 but I havent heard if the vq35 is any different

Hey brother you can be safe and disconnect but it’s not necessary to do so. As long as you don’t disconnect the harnesses for the throttle bodies you should be fine 👍

It would be hard to say without looking at it but that sounds like it could be the cause. Did you ever have it diagnosed and what was the issue?

What happens if oil gets where the spark plugs are because on my g37 like 3 of the tubes filled up with oil
How much oil would you say? Like to the point where you hear a squelching sound when you move the plug in the tube?
Gasket cover leak maybe
You need a new gallery gasket cover
@@justgheesygallery gasket is in the front…
Most likely your value cover gasket. I had this same issue with my second Infiniti. My spark plugs covered in oil on driver side

If I unplug the battery than unplug my throttle body’s will I still have to do a relearn
just do it anyways for peace of mind! It takes 10 minutes man
Probably not but most likely you will want to do a tb clean since its literally apart and all.. then you will need to
Where did you buy that snap on tool for the plug removal?
I got it from my snap on rep. You can see our review of it here!

What spark plug socket size did u use please?
Why did you skip the video of you removing the first spark plug on passenger side that's what I need to know how to remove them hose
Iirc it just pulled out, just needed a little force

My q60s looks just like this I assume same engine just couldn’t find anyone doing spark plugs on my type engine q60s
If you have a vq37vhr (which it sounds like you do) it’s the same process 👍👍
Great video! You guys are cool af
Thank you for your support!!
Thanks guys
Happy to help!
Is it the same for the m37 2011
The process will be relatively similar for an VQ37VHR but specifics will change from chassis to chassis

Aww we’re so sorry we’ll make sure to not have any fun next time 🫡

It's our understanding that the vq motors dont actually need timing adjustments. This is definitely the case with the vq37 but I havent heard if the vq35 is any different
Timing chains dont need to be replaced!
Every 25-40k miles with transmission flush every 3-4 months or 25-35k miles!
