Myself born in a Non vegetarian family. I tried complete Vegetarian diet for nearly 2 years and, It really took toll over me disrupting my physical and mental health.
I have to say that I never forcefully stopped eating Non veg and Loved the Veg based diet. But our physical body works according to our evolution.
I lost considerable amount of weight, had loss of appetite, lack of sleep etc.
Bhagavan Sri Krishna himself told in Bhagavad Gita that "Do your karma at whatever place or situation you are placed and don't imitate other's karma"
he uses the word Swadharma for that.
There is nothing to be proud being a Complete Vegetarian or Non vegetarian. Krishna hasn't told any where that you shouldn't eat meat.
Only thing he told is to consume anything that stimulates your sensation moderately and consciously, Be it through eyes, ears or mouth.

Don't try to justify here.one who is born in non vegetarian family should not stop eating it overnight..if you do it step by step and eventually you replace it with a nutritious vegetarian diet you can become vegetarian easily.its just about to find the right substitutes in vegetarian diet.also if you learn about yoga you will find out yoga is taught by God himself which clearly says non veg is not food for humans.i am born in non vegetarian family I tried to stop eating several times since childhood for several reasons like spirituality animal love etc it affected my health also then I stopped and minimise consuming it step by step and it's working find now.

@@Raksha-jd1ql I didn't forcefully started a Veg based diet. I don't have any problem shifting towards a Veg based diet overnight because iam not a regular daily meat consumer and always had a lot of vegetables in my meal.
Point out one shloka from the ancient philosophical texts; The vedas, Upanishads, The Bhagavad Gita or even the Patanjali Yoga suthra that forbids consumption of meat. Infact in Ayurveda you can find several medicines that are made from Non veg source. Mutton soup (Aja mamsa rasayanam) is one among them.
End of the day, everyones diet is their personal choice. I hope people should be aware of their nutritional intake rather than anything else.

Bro I will tell you only one thing if you believe me you can avoid killing animals and also if you don't believe me you can search on google. According to your books if you look in your Prophet life, the prophet Muhammad's diet was 90% plant-based and he lived largely on dates and barley. Here's the answer to your question. Eating meat does make us more violent & eating veg ❌ Satvik ✅(veg alone is not enough) does make us not only less violent but also make our mental state more stable suitable for studying, dhyan, pranayam.
Now, these things just give you an "edge" because there are many other factors which can lead to a short temper especially in today's time. That's why for Brahman Satvik ahar, Satvik vichar & Satvik sanskar was important ( all three were important).
Now coming to diseases, if you are eating meat as regular diet like usual Muslims & Christians do, and not working enough to digest it, it will cause problems. Digesting Satvik food is far easier than meat, fruit is even easier.
That said, every food needs to be digested properly & some physical routine is important especially in today's time of comfort.

I was born into a family that eats meat. I respect vegetarians and don’t eat meat when I’m with them. I don’t think the Bhagavad Gita or any Hindu texts say you can’t eat meat. In the Mahabharata, there’s a story where the deer ask Yudhisthira not to hunt them to extinction, and he agrees. This shows that the Pandavas, who were warriors, ate meat by hunting. Many forest tribes in India, who are Hindus, still hunt for food.
The Gita doesn’t ban eating meat but says not to eat it or anything else (even veggies) with too much passion. If you need meat to survive and it’s sourced sustainably and the animals are treated kindly, it’s okay to eat meat. In the Kali Yuga, everyone is a sinner, whether they eat meat or not, so meat-eating should be the least of your worries in this Kali Yuga - a graver sin is to rob people of their hard-working wages which a lot of vegetarian businessmen in India are doing on a daily basis.
You can be a good Hindu and follow Shri Krishna without changing your lifestyle. Gautam Buddha also said that moderation is key. Hare Krishna.

As a non vegetarian who tried to have a veg diet for a while, it absolutely backfired on me. It is so important for people to realise their bodies' needs and not supposed dictums by anyone, or any religion for that matter. I don't generally care much for my diet sources as long as they are somwewhat well cooked and keeps me functioning, would advise yall to do the same. If veg diet keeps you healthy, feel comfortable in it. If non veg does so, continue on it. From a religious standpoint, at least sanatan dharma has many paths where diet content need not be the focus but rather consistent upasana. And for advanced yogic or spiritual people, diet doesn't even matter, they can go on days without anything. They aquire energy from meditation so that food is no more the main source of energy. Keep doing what you're doing. Move at your own pace, don't feel forced to do anything.

Out of my will I retarded myself from consuming non-vegetarian foods but actually it doesn't make any significant impact in my spiritual journey but I won't say my decision is wrong anyways I'm happy to follow what I'm comfortable with. I'm sure that foods cause no negative effect on our pure devotion unless we deliberately acting contrast to our consciousness. Real understanding is when we realise all foods evoke certain amount of karma but it can be take over by pure divinity regardless of the type of food we intake 💯

@@akhilbs9625 I'm a girl btw. And yes, like you said about gita, people often have this tendency to explain gita in a way that justifies their opinions while realizing the true essence of gita can only be possible when one does consistent sadhana following their ethics and morals. I'm not blaming or offending anyone for their diet choice but guilting others to follow a veg diet is not dharma imo. I love animals, but I also need animal based diet for my sustenance, that doesn't make me a beast or even if it does, hopefully one day all my sins/karmas will leave me as I carry on with my own sadhana. Ramakrishna Paramhansa used to say that don't force yourself, don't hate the things you have that people find animalistic, don't try to get rid of your instincts as they never go away with force, carry on with your dharma and slowly each of them will slip away effortlessly. From a scientific standpoint a well balanced diet is the goal for physical upliftment. That ranges from the greenest of vegetables to the meats as well. So feel free to eat whatever keeps you fit. Don't hold any guilt over it. Happy journey.

@@artwithsaya Great insights. I hope more people understand like you do. People says that they being Vegetarian to avoid cruelty against animals. What good it can do when themselves showing cruelty to their own body?
Human body highly releies on animal based protein. Even Brahmins are advised by doctors to take cod liver oil supplements and consume eggs.
People usually takes food for granted and eat only in terms of quenching the hunger and completely disregard the nutrition intake. They forget that the vessel to do their karma is their own body and they have to take care of it.
I'm saying this because I have seen a few who stopped eating meat to avoid cruelty against animals and don't even touch any vegetables. They didn't turn vegetarians. Just stopped eating meat and other animal based protein.

foodS are three types TamSic, Raajas and Satvik.
Tamsic food draws include flesh and blood of other animals, junk food, food preserved over long time, alcohol, These food must be avoided by spritual practicioners for spiritual growth. The tamsic food degrades pranic energy of the body and leaves the mind in confused state and always the body and mind function under compulsive habits. Most People in Tamsic state always loses the integrity of mind and body.
Rajas food include food stuff which stimulates the body and include some spices, chilli, garlic, certain lintels, certain vegetables, coffee, These food stimulates the body resulting to different and inconsistent state of mind. Therefore people spiritual practices avoid these food to escape from the habits under the influence of hormones. Satvic food are fresh, juicy, and nourishing to body and soul always contribute to the spiritual growth as it always add to the pranic energy of the body. An ordinary people all these food. There state of mind functions in these three state. if a person consumes satvic food for a long time and tries tamsic food, it really gives you a kick. We are in Kali yuga, unless one practices the spiritual sadhana, like yoga the impact of different food on the state of mind cannot be realised.

Many people, especially westeners do not know this- that when the Lord created this creation, He created the law of Karma. This means that what you sow, so shall you reap. Eating vegetarian foods shall incur the least Karma, whilst eating higher order life, i.e. insects, birds, and animals, ones Karma will be greater. Commenting on others mental state, nature or attitude whether they eat vegetarian foods or not, does not help you. This is because each one is responsible for their own Karma. So each one should do what is right. They should also not judge.

from my experience in spritual journey
it is told to avoid meat because when you do meditation it creates restlessness, bec each cell has intelligence and when we eat meat that too get merged, which creates restlessness which does not help in spritually
    and
    if you are not spritual
then try to experiment with your life like this

When such meat is consumed as food, such emotions are gathered in the unconcious memmory of the human body. These memmories at the right time get tranformed themselves in the form of anger, anxiety, fear, frustations and many other mental feelings and physical diseases. I have been a vegan for years. It's actually SIMPLE : eating what is about what you do after you eat.
if u eat, then after just sit talk, walk and think, meat is definitely not good for you. Suits for majority of us, our lifestyle.
if u eat, then work, sweat, move your muscles, burn ur calories high, moderate amount of meat eating will be beneficial for you. Unfortunately a lot of us are lazy, weak.
MOST IMPORTANT: Meat or vegetables, how good for you also depends on how and where the organism is developed.

All gunas and foods are an inevitable part of this nature, meat eating people has achieved much progress in terms of human values , social justice , and scientific temper, but so called vegetarians have created a mess out of a good society by dividing it. Who had more authenticity in Hinduism and influences the bakhts in day to day affair?
Is it the Krishna avatar of Vishnu
    Or
    Ram avatar of Vishnu.
In Valmiki, the original Ramayan Valmiki mention no less than 6 time that Ram, Sita and Lachman ate animal fleshes. In fact Ram and Lachman hunted manywild animals including different kinds of deers, boars and cook and ate their fleshes
In Ayodhya Khanda chapter 95 Ram fed Sita with roasted animal flesh (B.B.Q) while both were enjoying the nature of Mandakini river.
How many Ram bakhts who are vegetarians know this simple truth?.
If what Krishna said is true then the Ram being the avatar of Vishnu committed a gravest sin by eating the meat of animals
"You can not have the cake and eat it too"
As far as meat eatimg is concern, either one of them is wrong or both are wrong. But certainly Both Ram and Krishna can not right.
I leave it to the bakhts to think logically and come to their conclusion.

Because then isn't killing people sin then why was it not considered a sin in mahabharata? Because its their dharma to do that and God already decided that so ita not a sin.

Food and habits (amongst other things) are based on the role you play in society and your purpose (dharma and karma). Both purely veg and non veg diets have their pros and cons and it should be based on an informed personal choice. Also, life should be about balance, and isnt it one of the most fundamental things that the Gita teaches us.

For 3-4 months i have stopped eating non veg, i am not even eating eggs. I want to say that i don't feel good, i can't even think straight, everything is hazy, i don't feel energetic, i am not able to exercise because of this diet i am hungry all the time i have to take digestive medicines, i can't adjust to heat, don't get me wrong but eating meat is important. After 30th i will eat it maybe even more than before.

Bro eat more veg. meal, I mean even earlier it shouldn't be like you are eating meat every day right?
Also, eat good amount of vegetables, mix grain roti, rice, dal. It should be enough.
But still in the end if you really don't feel good then go for non-veg.
I also became veg. but didn't faced any issue, may be because even earlier I only used to eat non-veg twice per month(at most).

He is not exclusively barring to eat sonething. He is only explaining the consequence. This guys gives absird interpretation of gita. Also he does not mention or categorise particular food items like a veg-non veg menu. And if people are to adopt food consumption like this dude suggest then good luck they will all suffer a healthy malnutrition.
