Top speed from 0 in a 2015 Chrysler 200s AWD with around 200 lbs in the trunk and 1,000 feet above sea level. This run was performed on a private airstrip.
I know that these cars were very very underrated. But many people are buying them 🤔🙂. Some of them had electrical flaws. But as long as I know, those flaws were already Fixed. I hope so.
I went out and purchased a 2016 200S V6 w/AWD and am very happy with it. This video helped me make my decision. I figured that AWD will limit wheel spin at launch. The chassis has a lot of Alfa-Romeo Giulietta lineage in it. It gets about the same average fuel economy as the 2007 Caliber 2.0L CVT that it replaced.
I bought, well, we bought ours used. With a hideous wing, hood scoop, but only 17,000 miles. Aftermarket exhaust. Other than that I couldn’t tell anything else had been done to it. Seemed to tach higher before gear changes than what I’ve read that stock supposed to be.. and I never had it to ever stop pulling or govern out. The 132 was an optional stop ( forced stop of acceleration from a exceptionally loud noise coming from the passenger seat called a wife!) lol. But she had more it felt like.
@ashtoncarrero7319 I was just going toe-to-toe with one of these in my stock 2018 Civic Si. We did about 4 pulls and I beat him by a bumper every time. My car only makes 205hp. Are they heavy or something??
@alxanderrodriguez460 just a bad driver or wasnt a v6 lol pretty much all 4 bangers I've run up on I've beat except for a cobalt ss which is slightly faster than the 200
@ghost-1413 a bad driver? It's automatic, in a straight line? Cmon 🙄. hmm it said chrysler 200s AWD. Idk how to tell if it's a 6 cylinder or 4, Google ain't helping much either
@@alxanderrodriguez460 awd really only come with the 3.6 but maybe the driver didnt know how to upshift properly using the sports mode or it was not an S class but a C class. Idk 😅

I test drove a 2015 200c awd v6 today. Fully loaded. It looked pretty sweet. I'm coming from a 2016 Ford Fusion SE fwd. The 9 speed trans felt really weird to me. Almost like it was slipping or not shifting at the right times. Is this normal? I'm not super educated in the automotive area. Engines. Trans. I have no clue. Thus, y I'm watching these RUclips videos.
Yeah the transmission in those are a pile on shit, they have a lot of issues with jerky shifting and they also kinda propel you forward while decelerating. I personally had a loaded 200c AWD as a loaner for 3 months because they forget I had it so it was nice but I wouldn't buy it. The best thing about it is that 9th gear comes in at 70mph so you get 38-40 mpg (according to the computer) at 70-75 so for long distance driving it was great just not around town. Also visibility is just horrible in the cabin and it's easy to miss someone next to you while merging.
The transmissions are fine! Hope you picked the 200. The computer doesn’t always know which gear to place the car in, being that there’s 9 of them, so at low speeds it can feel odd at first
Trans in these cars are fine, they are tuned for gas mileage as you can get high 30’s doing 70 on the highway. It will feel a little jerky and odd at first but you’ll learn how to drive it smoother. And If you follow the trans service intervals I don’t ever see it being a problem
@@christianbuhlmann7820 no sir. I just bought the car two months back. After market exhaust and past that I’m not sure. Runs really well. Scares the wife.
@@mattstacy1652 Matt the prior may have gotten the ECU unlocked and modified. There was one guy that figured it out as the are encrypted I did not do and I know that did remove the speed governor. I have a 200s awd and added a larger throttle body KnN kit an OBD tune from GAN (german it works) and high performance ignition coils from RIPP superchargers and dynod. Up 30hp at the wheels and clocked a 5.8 0-60 Which puts the AWD now as quick as FWD only version
@@christianbuhlmann7820 thanks for the info. Making a Christmas wish list now. But before anything else ima contact a friend I have and have him hook up to the computer and check for an upgraded tune.
Okay I have the 200s and I know for damn sure it’s got more go to it how do I remove the governor or what tune do I need to purchase to have it deleted
I have a 2016 Limited with the V6 and FWD. It's very difficult to keep the front wheels from breaking loose so you can't get on it too hard at launch. I suspect the AWD is probably quicker because it won't smoke the tires. If you just peg the throttle on mine, even when not in Sport Mode and with traction control on, it lights up the tires. Not going to make a low ET doing that!
I bought a used 2015 in June AWD 200S and it is so nicely balanced when you floor it. Especially in the wet. The only issue is that when you need to be quick when some less capable driver just decides to merge witout looking in traffic and acceleration is the only solution. Being in D and 9th gear is unsatisfactory. I keep it S (limited to 7th gear) to have the power and dwnshift on demand for most driving D is for open highway cruising. Added the K&N kit and in this cooler weather the car really moves. I want to do a 0-60 with on a 20 degree day. I am sure mid 5's is very doable
+Robert Steele there's something called a "sleeper" lol all you need to do is find a company that makes computers for this model and tune it with an obd port
Me and my wife had the 2015 Taurus SHO. She totaled that and we got the 200s And the acceleration that the 200s has beats the Taurus by miles it just won’t go over 120 I’m looking at tunes now for it
Chip/tune would likely do it. nothing easy though, requires cracking the ECU. Only other thing I could think of is disconnecting the speed sensor but I would imagine that will cause lots of other problems.
The car can move fast. But dang my 2015 Ford Fusion with the 2.5L actually hits 123. Yes I've managed to get it there, took an age lol but why would a car with a 100 less hp seem to have a higher cut off.
That's awesome to hear, you must have blown past the limiter somehow. It has enough power to go that fast, its just a shame it's limited from the factory.
It was very frustrating when I owned the car. Easily could have hit 150 but Chrysler limits the top speed because of the eco-friendly tires that come on it from the factory; they're only rated to 120mph. They traded a much higher top speed and better handling/stopping distance for 1/10th of a MPG.
We have one of these and they rock. They were very underrated and work well in bad weather with the awd.

How does AWD vs FWD compare for Chrysler 200 C? Is the FWD faster at startup? Or is it better to have AWD for the 60/40 split in sport mode?
