That was so amazing. No wonder you had trouble cutting it. You used a perfect camera angle to get perfect reflection off the water. I watched while eating my dinner was so mesmerized, my mashed potatoes got cold. Thanks so much for all your work!
Enjoying the gorgeous scenery and the history lesson. I love it! My ancestry is mostly from England, and Scots-Irish. My great-grandparents on one side were named Kent. Also my mom was a Grimes. Then, like a million others, we can prove our link to the Mayflower. But I have always known that. I got to visit Mayflower II at about 13 years old when it landed in Miami, FL where I lived at that time. Would have been in mid-fifties.
Glad you enjoyed it Bonnie. Ancestry can be so fascinating and to be able to link yourself to the Mayflower, how exciting. I did trace my family history back in 2000 but there is so much more out there now. When funds allow I think I ought to retrace it all again, especially now I have so much more free time lols.
My family hired a boat from the little marina you showed in Christleton back in the very early 70s (maybe ‘71 or ‘72). It was our first and only canal holiday but I was hooked. My husband and I now have a boat moored on the K&A. Incidentally, my parents returned to Christleton years later and bought the old black and white cottage dated 1653 opposite the Men’s Institute. The village was razed to the ground by the Parliamentarians leaving only the church and the Old Hall, where they stabled their horses. They used the church tower as a lookout. It is reputed that my parents’ cottage was the first to be rebuilt. The main beams in the old part of the house showed signs of burning so they must have been reused. Thought this might be of interest to you. Also....did I see Gary’s Chugabug moored up before the winding hole? Thanks fir sharing; it brought back many happy memories.
That is amazing to read. Thank you so very much for sharing that information with us. Glad it bought back some nice memories for you too :-) Yes that was Chugabug moored up near the winding hole lol.
I only bought an Easter egg for my younger granddaughter this year, the older two grandchildren both had money instead and I always send my daughter in law in the USA money for my two grandchildren there as it isn't practical to send chocolate eggs there! I always buy my daughter an Easter Egg too - she is a lover of chocolate, unlike me - I prefer savoury things to chocolate!
Thanks and hope you had a great Easter too. Good question but I think I would rather grow my channel organically although I have thought of a bespoke stern flag :-)
Nice to hear you talk about our rich history, the way all the woke are going future generations will know nothing of our rich history. Mind you having said that Alexander the Great tried to wipe out the Persian empire history but never managed it but he done his best. As they say its the victors who write the history.
Can't seem to contact you on email shown says not correct syntext. So trying here. Is it possible on webcam channel to put what canal you live streaming you are on somewhere overlaid on screen like the time is? Thanks.
Thanks Clive, I'll check the email link shortly. While it is possible I only reveal information on my Facebook group page occasionally ands to my Patreons.
@@NarrowboatTales Thanks Ian. Sorry I don't use Facebook as I don't trust it. How about the suggestion about showing what canal you are on even if only in the comments below video.

Happy Easter..🐣
Why don't you put a sign on your boat advertising your RUclips channel...
Thanks and hope you had a great Easter too. Good question but I think I would rather grow my channel organically although I have thought of a bespoke stern flag :-)
Looking at live feed is that Snow? How was dinner with Gary?. Mushrooms sounded great
Hi Kat, no it was not snow this time, its insects. Dinner was great thanks nice and healthy.
How is the breech repairat at Beeston coming along?
I'm hoping to come that way next month.
Great vid as usual.
Cheers Geoff.
Thanks Geoff for your question. I am led to believe they are hoping to open the canal after the repair at the end of May Bank Holiday.
