Do you want to know about the weirdest thing about the Sonic Spinball ride? It was actually open just a few days before Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing came out! So basically, durring that time, people over there actually got a sneak peek of Roger Craig Smith's take on as Sonic before they would hear Jason Griffith as Sonic for the last time!
Spyder Soup Also, at least in the European version of All-Stars Racing, the Sonic Spinball Alton Towers Ride was actually promoted at the back of the Instruction Manuals.
They attempted to, i think they had a noodle shop and a Sonic the hedgehog mascot outside but they changed it when the Sega license ran out (coincidentally in the year of the Smiler accident) they also did the same to Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
@@imsoboredhahaha I think they also had problems with Sega in turns of merchandise etc, I think I read somewhere that Alton Towers created the "I rode" medallion but had to stop selling it due to licincing.
So sad to see that the ride is gone now sonic had been ruined anyway its not the same as it was years ago but its funny because you can still hear the same sound affects and some of the announcements are still the same its really funny when everyone is like “what is that a sonic ride?”
I am not a rollercoaster person AT ALL but honestly if I had gone to see this or even if there is a new Sonic rollercoaster in the UK one day, I’d 100% go on it even with my fears. I hope Sonic does get a new ride somewhere

The ride still has the blue track support beams; before the ride went back to being named Spinball Whizzer, Sonic Spinball's cars had decals of various Sonic characters such as Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. One time, Sega's mascot gave £1,000 to a lucky couple after they got off as part of Alton Towers' Instant Rewards promotion; they even got their photo taken with Sonic, even though their ride photo was at the shop waiting for them.

When it was known AS Sonic Spinball, the Blue Blur mentioned Eggman in the Ride Suspension and Bad Weather Suspension announcements.
The staff on this ride are phenomenal, we were given 6 fast passes after only a 10 minute delay! And we were in the queue line!

That's an average of one Fast Pass about every one minute and 40 seconds.
I got no fast passes after being delayed up to 50 minutes at other parks 😃

Green Hill is the first Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991); Chemical Plant is the second Zone from Sonic 2.

Nope, the sponsorship ended at the end of the 2015 season. For 2016 there was a new soundtrack and the ride was renamed back to Spinball Whizzer.
