Wowwwww!!! The shit just ain’t fair!!! I mean he’s got a crockpot going, on a dining room table, out in the dang duck hole! I mean I wanna cook roast and bang on em!
Heck yeah our season opener is Friday!
I have duck hunted for 58 years and I have only waded out to help pups learn to take a good line etc but when we hunt 8 or 10 in a blind with fast action we have 2 or 3 dogs with us and they are almost continuously in the water often limiting with 60 ducks in 45 minutes on opening weekend ( about half teal) so we can get out quick to help the next days hunt. BTW better get dogs conditioned before opening day. Great hunt !

Standing in the decoys with em flying makes me grin. Killed a ringneck last season that landed 10 feet from me standing right out in the open water.

yea Ive hunted for 49 years never had to follow a dog out and Ive killed more birds than you can carry while the dog is retrieving but very few standing in the decoys

why do you wade out with the dog ? let him do his job
Probably because they are dropping multiple birds each volley. Time consuming for dog to make all the retrieves in each volley. Could be adjusting rig. Or just looking at the rig.
Hes probably sending him on multiple marks.or trying to save time cause birds are flying or fixing decoys that the dog might drag or stretching his legs after standing so long or walking around to warm up a little or walking around stirring up the bottom of the marsh to attract more birds or making sure nobody shoots his dog or taking pressure off of his dog because he picks up 50 birds a day 7 days a week...
