In teh Contax RTS - Quick User Setup Guide I read that "Before film loading, turn the shutter control dial off the 'AUTO' setting.". What does it mean? Do I have to place the "A" (aperture) or in manual mode on the shutter speed index?
When I load 35mm film, I always proceed as follows - even with the Contax RTS: if possible, select the fastest shutter speed, such as 1/1000, 1/2000 or whatever the camera offers, select the smallest aperture and release with these settings, cock the shutter, release and so on until the frame counter is at 0 or 1.
No, I just meant that without a battery, the camera can't be released because the shutter is electronically controlled. Of course, the film can still be transported without the battery. Sorry, maybe I did not express myself clearly enough in the video. But for follow-up questions, the comment function is enabled.
@@apertureonepointfour i have the same camera, the problem with mine is I can't advance the film lever, i dont have a battery, do you think that's why i cant advance the film lever? because to operate the camera you need a 4LR44 battery?
It would be possible that the shutter is cocked, but the camera cannot release without a battery and accordingly the film advance lever cannot be moved. Yes, you need a "4LR44" alkaline or silver oxid battery. These batteries are also called PX28, A544 or 4 AG13.
very well explained and filmed
Thank you very much. I'm always happy when a viewer likes my video.

@@apertureonepointfour Very kind of you to give me this tip. I will try as soon as possible.
are you saying, you can't advance the film lever without you using a battery?

Hello, unfortunately I can't help you with this. Spontaneously I can only think of penetrating oil or does this cause damage?
