    Extremely well done. I’m glad to see someone do this well here on that boss. It took me a whole 42 turns to win with my set up, so seeing an all out attack with good use of resources only take nine is quite impressive! I hope this video absolutely does numbers!

      @@veghesther3204press the button as soon as your eyes register mario on top of the enemy crouched. don’t try to anticipate it, you’ll press too early. wait until the frame you see him crouched on top of the enemy and press. that’s the trick I used to get my 100 super jumps in the remake. you can also watch mario’s shadow on the right side of the enemy, and push when both mario and the shadow touch. it’s all about practice - go to mushroom way, fight a spiny, and just practice. you won’t damage spinies with super jump so you can just keep practicing until you run out of fp and syrups, and then load a save when you’re ready to attempt the 100.
      you’ll know you’re almost there when you can consistently get to 40-50 without trying, you’ll break through once and get it done.

I then rematched him again, but now took 42 turns, and I got the "that is quite a long time" dialogue. I assume that whenever you fail to beat your current record, you get the "that is quite a long time", while beating your current record gives you the text seen in the video. • @stevenolson3977
    @stevenolson3977 Год назад +6

    I didn't think about doing Work Pants. I discovered after a few tries that Lazy Shell Armor is a liability, as the Def increase really isn't helpful, especially with the hit to Speed, much less the hit to attack. I noticed it is important to get some healing in on the first turn before the Crystals start attacking.
    Also, I see that you didn't have Bowser in much. His Mag Def is so low that he's just going to die :)

    • @Zrego
      @Zrego  Год назад +3

      Nah, it's because he lacks good utility. Take Geno and Peach for example, they have good magic skills, AOE dmg moves and healing respectively while having good physical attack power themselves, which I used in the second phase of the fight. Mallow served his purpose for nuking the Fire Crystal via weakness hits and chipping off some AOE damage with Snowy before he died. I had Bowser took over for a bit just to activate his+Mario+Mallow's Triple Move which deals multiple elemental attack to hit each crystals with great damage, but he sucks for everything else. Bowser's party buff is also underwhelming for this fight, Phys Def's kinda mid since Culex uses mostly magic attacks.

      If you beat the game and then reload, Toad will come to Mario’s House and give you a Voucher for one free night at the luxury room at MarryMore. When Mario is sleeping, Geno is looking out the window and sees a light. He tells Mario it came from Star Hill. Purple Stars will be there. Once after you look at them all in each area, you can go to Frog Sage but I will tell you all locations of the Boss Rematches. You can fight Scratchy Thoat Belome in Belome’s Temple to get Mallow’s new Ultimate Weapon, the Sage Stick. If you fight Punchinello in the Moleville Mines and get Bowser’s new Ultimate Weapon the Wonder Chomp, fight Booster on a train to get Geno’s new Ultimate Weapon the Stella 023, refight a stronger version of the Cake Boss Bundt in MarryMore, Harder Johnathan “Johnny” Jones, and Jinx in Monstro Town also as a Triple Move Challenge. Tips for each fight.
      Scratchy Throat Belome: The Clones put up shields. His weakness is Thunder so use Mallow and have the other characters take out the Clones.
      Punchinello: Make sure you get Action Commands down. Hit each bomb and they will reverse and hit Punchinello.
      Engine 023 Booster: I reccomend you using Mallow and Peach to beat him. Make sure to have Peach use Mute. When Booster says he’s working, he will build a Train his next turn. Do not let him do that as the following attack is doing 9999 Damage to your whole group you have out, unblockable. Use Mallow’s Thought Peek to break his concentration.
      Bundt: Simply just target him with basic attacks and put out the candles so he can’t one shot your active team like Booster does. You will get the Endearing Brooch. Unfortunately Peach doesn’t get a new Ultimate Weapon. Just get her Frying Pan if you don’t have it because that’s her Ultimate Weapon. It costs 300 Coins from a Blue Striped Toad in the Moleville Item Shop. The Blue Striped Toad calls it a Metal Plate.
      Jinx: Just do Action Commands well and survive so you can use your Triple Special!
      Jonathan “Jonny” Jones: You can’t use items here. Equip Mario with the Lazy Shell Weapon and Lazy Shell Armor. Switch it so Geno and Bowser give you their benefits. Geno raising your Speed and Attack, while Bowser Raises your Defense. Most of Jonathan “Johnny” Jones’s attacks with do very little if they hit you. If you are good at Action Commands, there’s nothing to worry about.
      When you beat Jonathan “Johnny” Jones, he gives you an Extra Shiny Stone. He will give it to you even if you fight him first. However you must fight and defeat all the other Boss Rematches and Jinx.
      If you do so and return to Monstro Town, you will see Culex’s Dark Door respawn. You can open it with the Extra Shiny Stone, and fight 3D Culex seen here!

      Because it’s the last thing to do in the game and Frog sage will call you a sage if you defeat 3D Culex.

      You dont like challenges Matthew? You dont wanna be better at RPG games? It's not the only RPG game that has a superboss by the way.

    Wow, that's so crappy, they reuse the old sprite. Is there no end to the laziness of modern game developers?

      Play the game and you'll understand why Culex kept his 2D sprite lol

      Man, i swear this comments are so annoying. It's a literal cool referrence to the 1st appearance of Culex in the original game. It's- literally only this time that he has the 2nd sprite, despite the 1st battle. EVERYTHING in the game are all modern faschioned, its only him who is in this sprite to give a flashback to the original game. I think it's you who is lazy to literally just click on the video and not watch it fully _literally just to say_ that a 2nd sprite in our current Era is too old.
