To answer your question about the drugs Bruce, oftentimes people who love them are introduced to them during times of pain in their life.. and the drugs heal that. This often happens during times before the age of 25, so the brain is still developing and now it's developing around drugs that are being consumed to stop the pain. Then the physical dependency kicks in.. and before you know it you HAVE to have it. Your body and mind develops around the drugs. If it was as simple as seeing "this is taking all of my money and killing me and I need to stop" and then stopping, people would stop. If you talk to most addicts they will tell you the one thing they want most in this world is to stop but they physically can not because when your body and brain has developed around drugs it knows nothing else but to hunt for that, and programs to unlearn that and learn proper ways of living cost money that most people don't have. I am not saying this to say what you are saying is wrong, but you said you don't understand why people do drugs so I thought I would provide some insight from experience. I have no friends left aside from one who I value so much because he's the last one left. I have lost all others to drugs.. but the people I have lost all wanted to stop before I lost them.
