  • Anti-obesity drugs, also known as obesity drugs or GLP-1 receptor agonists have been made popular by celebrities using them to lose substantial amounts of weight. But how do these therapeutics work and are there downsides to taking them?

    Thats neat, from a scientific point of view, but kinda horrifying from a normal perspective. A drug that treats a problem that almost everyone wants to fight, but you have to take it almost your whole life and because its hard to get it's costly. Seems like a pharmaceutical companies wet dream, which I bet means the safety testing isn't going to be the strictest thing. Besides that, obesity is a symptom of a deeper problem, if that problem isnt corrected, the issue isn't fixed. Just because you've found a way to suppress a symptom doesn't mean you're cured.
