- In this video, I react for the first time to beatboxer MB14 performing at the LA Cup Worldwide Showcase 2018. In this video, I analyse his amazing performance. I explain and demonstrate his vocal techniques and I'll tell you what I think made it so great.
MB14 recently got a golden buzzer at Britain's Got Talent and I can see why! His pallet of sounds is outstanding!

The movements beatboxers make with their hands aren't just for themselves. They are also for the audience. With the movement you make, you're suggesting to the audience what type of instrument it's supposed to be. That's where the "magic" comparison is really good. Because you're guiding the audiences attention to where you want it to be. And sometimes it takes that small hand movement to make a normally goofy sound into the magic that is beatboxing. You kind of have to sell it.
The other part is definitely that it helps staying in the vibe and using the hand as a guide. Like he's almost drawing out the melody as he's singing it.

@@wooshbait36 Yeah, why should deep theoretical and practical knowledge about the human voice apparatus and singing knowledge/proficiency (both of which she demonstrated multiple times) lead to somebody being able to pick up sounds made with the voice apparatus faster? It must be fake and AI because real talent and knowledge cant exist :D I mean you have to be careful when it comes to AI in videos, but this is such a weird claim for this vid..

This video finished me, as if MB14's performance wasn't enough, building on top of that with your demonstrations and suddenly pulling out the lyrics to Amish Paradise on the spot. One of the most fun things I've ever watched. Its also so wonderful that he's getting so much recognition now to have such a detailed breakdown of his vocals for people just discovering him. It means so much to the community, thanks so much for everything!

My favorite part of these videos is, she is unable to hide her excitement. I've been watching beatboxing videos for years, and these videos are a refreshing validation of the passion I've had for watching beatboxing. So many little gem videos out there she could find, I'm excited to see which ones she goes over next.
MB14 is a classically trained vocalist, so he definitely knows what he is doing and is using the different vocal modes, SOVTs, and the like that you mentioned with intent and purpose, Lolli! As always, your reactions, analysis, and explanations are top shelf and as delightful as can be!
I think my favorite part of these beatbox videos is that for each of these unicorns with their special talents you discover, it highlights how incredibly special your abilities and talents are as well. Its truly like a double feature and watching you reproduce some sounds that take some beatboxers years to master is an experience in itself. Add in the nuanced discussion of anatomy and technique, as well as an impressive recollection of Amish Paradise, and this demonstrates why you're THE Fairy Voice Mother. I can't understand why Lolli doesn't have over a million followers, her energy, the detail of her analysis, and how she explains how(in theory) the sounds that are produced, is by far the best reaction style channel out there. I used to watch a different vocal coach channel, and she got so annoying with how often she'd replay a track, I couldn't stand it........until I found Lolli, and have been following her ever since. Well done
You should definitely also check out Tom Thum, he is an Australian beatboxer/looper/musician and he is one of the OGs, his musical ability when it comes to beatboxing and looping is world class. One of his videos that showcases his ability to impersonate instruments is his 'Radio' video, but the usual got to first reaction, is his Ted talk from 2014, which is the most viewed Ted talk ever

Also consider MB14 is NOT wearing headphones and records almost every sound live on the first take.
Most to almost every looper nowadays uses headphones to pre-check on recorded sounds to match the pitching.
Not to discredit them but MB14 is just amazing to hit all those pitches on the spot.

I was blown out of the water by every milisecond in this video. The talent of both, MB14 and Lolli, should be illegal. My admiration towards you has grown to the extreme that it's about to become envy. Just wow.
It never ceases to amaze me how well you are able to hear these unique vocal tones/notes and duplicate them based on your extensive knowledge of vocal technique. More people should be watching your content.

Every time I hear and/or see something this crazy my initial reaction is always "There's no way this is real" "I call BS" or some such.... I can't wrap my brain around the skill it takes - just amazing! Your reaction was priceless, loved it!

very good choice. In this video, you can perfectly hear all the layers and subtleties of his voice. What in a show like BGT it is impossible because too noisy and too impatient.
There is no doubt that 100reds of people were doing the reaction vlogs and videos for MB14 who is the only 1 in the entire world to do such an amazing, unbelievable, Unmachable, outstanding, out of box, on to another leval of Beatboxin .. But i can bet u on this that the way u reacted to his this video is amazing and u r at no 1 position for me for his reaction video list..
I see a lot of "Professionals" reacting to beatbox, a lot claim to be vocal coaches or voice experts and while they may be knowledgeable, very few can demonstrate the kind of vocal ability you show.
Your voice is amazing, you hit a note sometimes and I am literally shocked at how good it sounds, almost out of place juxtaposed to the normal talking.
P.S You should check out the GBB23 Wildcard entry by the beatbox group Ya Na Ha, its one of the best performances in a very long time, you would find it fascinating

I would love to watch you react to just about anything at this point. If you want to read a book, I'll watch it. You connect to music with an empathy that I haven't seen with any other person, much less a vocal coach. I love you videos, just to watch how you connect and make the experience personal.

What surprised me the most was the fact that he had no headphones or anything during the performance and yet everything is so accurate! How crazy is that!
The other thing is how you can possibly imitate his sounds just by watching the video for a second or two!
Why every sound that we make resonates through our whole body matter especially bone like the skull. So it’s better than headphones. Military tech uses a device that you strap around your neck that picks up the slightest vibration (softer than a whisper) amplifies than transmitted to other users just like if the individual was speaking directly into mic at reg volume.
I will definitely be back for part 2. The journey into the realm of beatbox is in full swing now, and I'm all for the insight you provide to what goes into producing these sounds. Very much appreciated. Thank you, and I wish your channel and skillset much growth. Keep spreading the joy

MB14 has been one of my favorite singer/beatboxer/instrumentalist or whatever you could call him since I heard him on The Voice years ago.
What's incredible is truly the amount of things he can do. He switches between vastly different sounds and manages to still layer them in a way that is extremely musical. Beatbox is incredible, but it can often become a very technical moment that doesn't necessarily let that much space for expression. But thanks to his opera voice and the fact that his harmonies are just out of this world, he manages to create not only very unique sounds, but also arrange them in a way that lets musicality express itself. Not only that, but I think you are spot on with the fact that he has very little space to work with once everything is layered up ; but since the execution is incredible, the details only contribute to making his sound feel "full" and complete rather than a multitude of components.
I think it’s amazing how you mimic their voices so well. Astounding!

It’s « funny » having our prefered fairy voice explaining how what seems obviously magic is in fact incredible technique and practice. MB14 is a whole orchestra, bands, dj, machines, singers and whole bands of different and crossed styles! Only with his vocals and technique (and looper). You analysed this perfect and made this technical analyse so entertaining, as usual! As for my request, it will be as usual : Blackbriar - My Soul’s Demise because I’m in love with Zora’s voice and because if you do not react to her, I will break the internet, router after router, personally, with a crowbar 😈
