- EndeavourOS Review - Is this the best Arch Linux based distro in 2021? We'll explore the XFCE desktop environment on EndeavourOS. This is my first look at EndeavourOS since it's release. EndeavourOS has made many improvements and their welcome greeter is a great tool. Review Endeavour in 2021 and see if it's a great Arch Linux alternative.
Arch Linux is an independent Linux distribution that comes with a minimal setup and allows you to tailor the system to your needs. That means you can install whatever window manager or desktop environment you want and mainly to start everything on Arch Linux is done through the Command Line Interface. This is what makes it so minimal because you could technically run everything from just the terminal. Without installing anything else on Arch Linux now this might make it harder to interact with Linux, but it sets you up with learning about the internals. Arch Linux focuses on supplying you with the latest development and releases in Linux.

Very special date you created this, my birthday! Nice video
Well happy belated birthday!! Glad you liked it.
that welcome screen looks sick!
And it sure is :D
Everything is awesome videos.. thank you very much.. 🙏
Most welcome 😊 glad you enjoyed it :)
nice, so much detailed
Glad you think so!
Awesome
My ram usage is always 1 GB and more no matter the distro. 🙄
Will give this a try. I just want a low resource hogging distro. Any suggestion is welcome.
Try a window manager.
@@SavvyNik Thank you.. will do
Try archcraft. It has openbox
Try solus
pog 🔥
Oh my! :)
Great video and thanks for sharing! I use the GNOME flavor of EOS, but after seeing this, I really like the look of XFCE. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if XFCE has/uses native touch pad gestures for laptop use?
Glad it was helpful!
PERMISSION:
First of, great work, Nik!
Would you allow your videos to be translated in another language (uploaded here on RUclips, with monetization)??
Thanks, no I do not want my videos redownloaded. I've opened up community translation however for subtitles which get approved by me if people want to translate to another language.
I use it as a daily driver with GNOME desktop
Nice :)
i mostly do competetive programing and sometimes other things on a low spec machine should i shift from KDE neon to this?
Not necessarily, if you're happy with your current environment I would stick with it. A lot of hours goes into changing over to another distro, so why change if you're happy? Unless there's some functionality you don't have that you would really enjoy.
Great Content As Always. Can You Make A Video On How Hack Or Test Wi-Fi.
Appreciate it! Those aren't really videos I do on my channel, but you can look into some security linux distros to help you.
@@SavvyNik Thank You.
When's your next Veloren stream??
I do my Veloren streams on Sundays mainly and it's on the SavvyNik Gaming channel. I shoot for somewhere between 10-11 EST typically.
how did you manage to install the fcking thing? i have never been able to. keeps hanging in the installer.....every time
Hey, haven’t you tried the themed XFCE?
Yes, I have tried it and it's great. EndeavourOS decided to drop the EOS Themed XFCE env default after April and use the vanilla theme after a standard installation. They claim this is to make the DE similar to the other environments that aren't themed by default. I showed off vanilla since I don't like making changes to the defaults after a fresh install :)
@@SavvyNik oh right
:)
BTW, if I want 2 run Android x86 on a VM then should I choose linux or others as type
Using VirtualBox
BTW, Does anyone know what makes LISP so special???
Check out Screen Tearing OS, it obviously runs on linux.
lol low blow
This distro have bunch of updates? Cause my internet connection isn't that good. I like artix, but the everytime updates pissed me off. If I don't update for 3 days, there's is a minimum 450mb to download f*k.
It is based off arch and does have frequent updates. I’d suggest more stable distros like Debian or Ubuntu for your situation.
Bro manjaro is the best
oh my
For what reason? I'm a newbee. I'd like distros without snap.(mint, debian, fedora) I heared, what manjaro unstable and often crash after update
