Have loved stopping in here so many times over the years. I'm not alone when I say this place is going to leave a huge hole in the city. You can't just replace places like this
No one can’t replace any other places. It’s not that the city is dying, it’s changing. It always has. There’s so much stores, buildings and landmarks that I didn’t even know they exist in this city. A lot, and I mean a lot of razed brick buildings don’t exist anymore that I see on Instagram. Truly a shame but….what can you do?
i remember their location next to Bloomingdale's they had a pool table and a juke box and smoking was still allowed, the bartender John would cash my paycheck from time to time, dive bars go back decades,we had that just closed here in the bronx after 75 years Glackens on 149th what a loss.
People are also smoking more weed..now that it’s legal or gummies..and not drinking as much or exclusively when socializing..when I was young the older folks would tell me how much the city changed..and now I’m the old fart saying the same things..that’s life.
@ not my scene ha ha..but it’s also true that the largest consumption of edibles and cannabis are people 45 and older..also the nyc corporate culture I knew of coworkers and after work shinnanigans is much less..people work from home..run home..and in general are less social..but as I explained, I am an old fart..
I never even knew about this place. Should have done better advertisement and had a social media presence... AND the new generation can't spend money like the old generation did, because everything is so expensive these days unlike it was back then
It's a Dive Bar!!! What did you think would happen? It's a DIVE BAR on it's 3rd location !!!! Just find an abandoned store in the Big Apple. Shouldn't be too hard with all the other businesses going broke.....lol.....a dive bar story!!!

It's there fault. They should have renovated there store and got with the times. You can't milk the cow and not feed the cow. Well, they will learn the hard way.

This is capitalism. Businesses come and go all the time. Nothing lasts forever. Go cry about it.
