Yes, i know it's evidence, but that was exactly Gus' weakness, the need for perfect revenge, that led to his downfall. I think it would've been in character for him to keep this and use it to torment Hector later.
I think how Lalo’s death happened was the only misstep the show ever made with him. No problem having Gus be the one but the mistakes Lalo makes in the moment don’t seem on side with his character.
don't have to hit them in the head to kill them, as we see prior to this scene even getting hit with body armor still knocks the wind out of you, long enough for Lalo to find where Gus is and finish him
A likely possibility, but still, Juan Bolsa was associated with Don Eladio Vuente and the Salamanca family, and while Bolsa didn’t like working for a family of deranged psychos and 14 year old bully in a grown man’s body, he was no saint himself and therefore had to go.
I don't get the people who say that Lalo's death was underwhelming or bad. Gus planned ahead and ultimately got lucky. That's just how it is sometimes. And I wouldn't wanna miss that final scene of Lalo smiling menacingly while being bloodied all over for the world. It's as iconic as it's gonna get.
it doesn't even feel like stupid luck for Gus - he was truly involved in the construction, so he knew how things worked on his ground, how to turn off the lights and where to hide. Of course, luck was involved, too, but Lalo spelled his own doom with his arrogance

Lalo fate was sealed once the lights go out, since Gus was wearing a body armor his best chance was to shoot Gus in the head , but thanks to the darkness thats basically impossible, while Lalo's own muzzle flash pin point his position right away.
Lalo D. Salamanca, died with a smile on his face, starting the Great Era of Cartels
Lalo was a freaking menace
I love the subtle detail of Lalo laughing his ass off when Gus shit-talks Eladio, but suddenly biting his lip and looking mad when he starts with the Salamancas as well.
That's gonna be one hell of a video tape
Bro forgot he didn’t have infinite ammo 😂
He laughed because he watched Breaking Bad
The skin color gave Gus an advantage in the dark. Thats why Lalo lost. :)
lalo just saw a pair of glasses bouncing around…😂😂😂
Can't wait for them to appear in the new show.
New show? Breaking bad?
Lalo smiled because he knew he only died because breaking bad was already filmed
Bro was camoflauged 😂
I heard jonathan banks was jealous because he wanted his character kill lalo instead.
But hey, let giancarlo esposito have his fun too!
Lalo underestimated Gus. Always
Not really. He got lucky. The odds of this specific scenario happening where the gun he hid is actually useful to him is also incredibly low.
I love these shows, but they should've reworked this part a bit. How would he know that Lalo would ambush him at his laundry and bring him down into the lab?
@@Boredasfuck29 Well, Gus knew Lalo was extremely interested in the secretive project he had going on. And if you remember the conversation he had with Mike, they knew Lalo was gonna need proof. So Gus was thinking, if the location and discovery of the lab is the prize for Lalo, then let's plan for what happens if/when he finds it.
@@ods1ODS and then he somehow manages to pull this gambit off by complete chance, manage to destroy the cable in one kick, run over to the gun without getting shot, and land one of his shots while panicked with the gun he just happened to put in the perfect spot? It's just too perfect. In ANY other scenario, Lalo would have won, easily. There's no way Gus could possibly have the magic intuition to plan this. If he did, Walt wouldn't have been able to trick him with the wheelchair bomb.
@@Boredasfuck29 But...Gus did thwart Walt's first attempt to blow him up. Purely on intuition. But look, I'm not saying it's a plausible real life scenario. But at least the show established a basis for all these farfetched situations. They really did.
@@ods1ODS I can buy him sniffing out a car bomb a lot easier than I can buy him pulling the lab gambit off. The performances were great as usual, just thought they should've reworked that scene a bit to make it make a little more sense.
And we all thought lalo was a time traveller in alternate universe that would suddenly deviate the story from breaking bad
I get that this scene didn't exist at the time Breaking Bad was made, but i imagine Gus definitely would've kept that camera and hid it, then when the time came, showed the footage to Hector in the nursing home. Yes, i know it's evidence, but that was exactly Gus' weakness, the need for perfect revenge, that led to his downfall. I think it would've been in character for him to keep this and use it to torment Hector later.
It was at this exact moment that Lalo became truly dead.
The best scene in the whole show.
THAT is how you kill a character that people know that will die.
I think how Lalo’s death happened was the only misstep the show ever made with him. No problem having Gus be the one but the mistakes Lalo makes in the moment don’t seem on side with his character.
you cant play with a person in body armor like that. If he runs or jumps, you're not landing a headshot.
don't have to hit them in the head to kill them, as we see prior to this scene even getting hit with body armor still knocks the wind out of you, long enough for Lalo to find where Gus is and finish him
Lalo has such a sunny disposition. I have tried to emulate this in my life, seeing the humor in every situation.
The fact that he didn’t mention Bolsa show that Gus didn’t hate him.
Exactly. Obviously the shot in the dark was lucky but gus did plan it out. He did outsmart him here
And he did, buried ALL OF THEM.
If the channel owner blocks closed captions for the deaf, they should be fair to hearing people and block the audio as well.
I knew it. Gus killed Lalo with his own gun in superlab
Lalo is known for keeping his promise, yet he still lets Gus gander for more than a minute 😂
Dang! Lalo was the evil 007 of the underworld! Too bad he underestimated Gus in the end.
They did Lalo dirty in this episode.
Maybe so. But either way it went. He wasn’t in breaking bad so he wasn’t surviving
This scene has grown on me in comparison to when I first watched it... however I still think it feels off the way Lalo died in such quick way, and how much advantage he had over Gus when shooting, but... plot armor I guess.
Gus was smart not making the lab wheelchair accessible or else Hector would've saved lalo here
If only it had been a FaceTime call with Eladio 💀
Lalo's biggest mistake was not livestreaming the video
well better call saul takes place in 2002 so
@trippybunn whaaaaat!? I suppose next you're going to try and tell me that Walter White was acting on his own in Breaking Bad, and wasn't forced into cooking meth by his brother-in-law Hank Schrader.
He laughed bc he saw how Gus would die and thought good riddance
Lalo's last thoughts: Perro astuto. Me hizo monologar
Best antagonist in the breaking bad franchise. Either him or gal
Lalo underestimated Gus and died. Gus underestimated Walter White and died. Both had similar endings.
I wonder what Lalos last thought was.
"You got me, chicken man. See you in hell."
"This doesn't hurt nearly as much has having half your face blown off in an explosion."
Theory : Lala true name is Eduardo D Salamenca. He died with a Smile,i will not surprised if he got a devil fruit too 😂😂😂
I just think of the half assed garbage lab eladio would have put their. Its an insult.
Predators should not play with their food. We saw how this ended in Game of Thrones.
Now imagine if the gun or he slipped lol..
Lalo SMILED cuz he knew/saw what would become of Gus, not specifically how but definitely.
Thanks for having a spoiler in the title...
