For the name of the song I was expecting something different, like a ballad, but I was a nice surprise! I love this heavier Amaranthe. The new album is gonna be awesome!
Exactly. I was so surprised that I was literally shaking of bliss first time I heard it, cause of it's magical yet very heavy sound. I wish I had recorded my reaction, I was like high without drugs. 😂 Now try to call this pop, this is more heavy than a lot of melodeath tbh, yet it's beautiful.
A ballad? Really? For the Archangel Lucifer??? Well, Satan (or Lucifer, Beelzebub, or any of the many names he is known by) was indeed an ARCHANGEL, but his enormous PRIDE got the better of him: "How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!" and Jesus said, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." No, this is NOT a character to inspire a ballad: full-on death metal is far more appropriate! 🤘
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
Yeah it feels to me like lament for a wasted life which has been a theme since their first album. What more of a wasted life than to fall and rebel against god with no chance of winning and doing nothing but sowing misery in the mortal realm when you could have just had an bonest conversation with god himself and asked humbly "why"

Metal is a diverse genre and Amaranthe is one of its forms. You may not like this form, but consider that it is not Metal, it's objectively wrong. It's foolish to blame bands for commerce, especially in the 21st century, when even white noise and air can be turned into money. Metal isn't necessarily brutal, for example genres such as Glam, Heavy, Power (happy, dancy sound: for example "True Metal" Manowar - Fighting The World yeah, yeah😜), Symphonic, also NDH with its dance rhythms, is also Metal (later Crematory has many influences of NDH and even similar to Amaranthe). If you throw bands like Amaranthe out of Metal, then it's fair to throw out all these genres as well, but they are inseparable from the world of Metal.
Put labels "real/fake" is a battle against windmills, there are no objective criteria. Some fanatic can reject Moonspell for lack of drive and brutality, Sepultura for nu metal vibes and "beeing mainstream and commercial success" (seriously, there are some "fans" who stop loving the band after they have achieved notable success), Rings Of Saturn because "this is shitty Deathcore, not Metal". Therefore, it's easier to skip what you don't like and find what you like in the huge world of Metal. We love Metal for its diversity, and at the same time its unity, right? 🤝 Let's respect each other.
I wish they let Nils sing more because he's absolutely killing it.

Is it just me, or is this band starting to move into power metal?The song itself turned out to be quite good, the video in the scenery of a ruined castle turned out well,and Elise Ryd herself in a red dress looks simply charming.

Olof Mörck before founding Amaranthe was behind Dragonland which is symphonic power metal so this more power metal influenced sound would be getting back to his roots.
Amaranthe tapped into power metal from the start. Less on the later albums but first two were seriously under the influence, mostly due to Jake's songwriting though. Especially stuff on nexus but even Maximalism had Break Down and Cry.
@@Silver.Leaves I haven't heard more than half of the band's discography,but I haven't noticed power metal in all the songs.Electronicor in their songs heard much more often,for example, the beginning of the songs Electroheart and Break down and Cry.And who is Jake?

@@oliivagroft5975 according to an article on Loudwire. There’s a few reasons. One being he wasn’t really heard much as he once was. The vision of the band started to go in a different direction than he planned. Lastly he says he just wasn’t happy anymore. He loves making music, but he wants to be happy doing it. I was gonna comment on Nils and knowing him from Dynazty. But I saw your question and was curious myself.
Should check out his band Dynazty. If you haven’t already. Dude makes some powerful vocals on songs like the human paradox or all the devils are here.

I like the slightly new direction in this. The futuristic, "digital world" vibes are what they've been known for, but imo, was getting a tad stale. It's nice to see them expand into something different.

Not surprising that Jake E left the band. In the chorus, you clearly can listen a predominant voice although the three of them are singing. Same happens with the video... Elize takes about 80% of the scenes.
That's a pity that marketing leads the way they do music and videoclips.
@@FireBelow nope while in the chorus part you can hear elize but you can also hear nils doing 2 vocals there, it emphasis his power metal vocal style, you can his low and his high, but of course you can hear elize voice more, in the verses nils got more part in it... the bridge part also by nils, also GG6 screams are well balance too, so it's a good song

Yeah, their best work was Amaranthine, and im a huge huge fan (recently) of this band, but this song just doenst do it for me like that one and many others have. The trinity has synchronized is one 🔥🔥🔥 lyric though.
Amaranthe mentioned that Archangel is kind of an experiment. It's very different from the other songs on the album. (so no they won't go to the satanic side of metal now🤣).
But overall Manifest will be heavier than the old stuff. So I'm very exited 😍

What i absolutely love about Amaranthe (among other things) is how their vocalists sync with each other during songs, imagine dance of 3 atoms who whirl arround each other creating pairs from time to time then again drifiting again then connecting in triangle which then again breaks apart and so on. They perfectly utilize their vocal differences and combine them to the great effect. Plus there are songs where one of them is given spotlight while two others are in supporting roles which is great also.

About _ - What is the real shame is that It won't be NB or Amaranthe suffering the contempt, disrespect and all over bad behaviour from fans, producers, drunk elements, coworkers and other people in general but Elize and Elize alone. I tried warning her and them, and as always time and experience are the best and cruelest teacher, it's a sad shame but the wheel of time has taken it's turn, the processes are in motion and unless they stop it - edit and re-upload it corrected for Elize's dignities sake the world will go it's course and either raise her or crush her. What a dumpster fire of a situation. All I tried doing this time was bringing the water to boil fast enough so that the frog jumps out in time. Well I tried anyway. If she suffers the slings and arrows of these decisions or lack of decisions at least I can say I tried.
This isn't the first case: Elize's bare nipple appeared in the video Helix. Likely, this cut is a prank of lewd editor, or he just didn't notice it, but the audience did. The most interesting thing is what Elize herself thinks about this.

Песня вполне в рамках группы, и группа класс, но всё таки хочется надеяться на то, что они проработают музыкальную составляющую как следует, и смогут выдать по-настоящему взрывной альбом, если не этот, так какой-нибудь следующий.

@@NIva-mb2cj только вот Amaranthe не настолько популярны, чтобы Резонанс про них хоть что-то сказал. Группа ни разу не фигурировала у него на канале.
А таких рубленых "сплагиаченных" риффов и во времена расцвета хэви-метала хватало (у резонанса как раз есть такой пример, в котором фигурирует Accept, Iron Maiden, Dio, Ария и т. п.). Жанровые условности + современные риффы не блещут оригинальностью в сравнении с 70-80ми.
Можно сказать, FFDP тоже "подрезали" амарантовский Drop Dead Cynical в Fire In The Hole. Музыки становится всё больше, поэтому шансы наткнуться на что-то похожее становятся всё выше. Но большинство таких случаев - это просто случайные совпадения и определённые клише, обусловленные музыкальными жанрами.
