I've also heard Sylas into Alistar is an auto win if the Sylas is decent, and someone else here said Sylas Chogath is super good.
Theres a bunch of other amazing ults like neeko, fiddle, swain, morde, amumu, seraphine, gnar that can solowin games.
Another ult thats crazy on him is pyke.
You usually want to get either cc or survavability, pure dmg ults arent worth it since a lot of cc ults will also come with good scalings since they are often on tanky champs that wont go full dmg.

Sylas and swain is ridiculous too. Sylas amumu...sylas counters all big impact ults but it still doesn't mean they are doomed. Enemy can ult before you can after a fight, but i guess sylas does have the advantage as building ap on malphite turns you into either one big ult and games over or a counterable one shot nuker. Flash, banshees or edge of night and he cant do his thing anymore (unless he builds protobelt and that telegraphs what hes going to do majorly)

When I get Sylas vs Fidd in Aram I just melt the whole enemy team with crowstorm, it's great. Turns out his mobility and stickiness is even better with it than Fidd's fears

I always felt like not wanting to play the game when I pick full ap bomba malph and I forgot to ban sylas, Im always like "sorry team 💀", good to know stats back it up that malph is the strongest sylas R, instant aoe engage with huge dmg and aoe to set up the rest of the combo usually means always killing at least one person effortlessly, and that person is usually of big priority due to big dash so lots of choice

@@adygombos4469 it's a SUPER lane counter. Sylas does infinite damage and takes very little. You only lose if you are scared of the rock and get poked down by his q. Any time he walks up and you e and w up go trade, you don't even need to land e 2 to win.

Most ults that scale off of ap, yet have champs that usually build other stats are perfect for sylas to take
I beat loads of sylases on my malph. You should just not interact at all during the laning phase and poke with q wait for gank the R to kill. You become large and tanky while the sylas is just a sylas.
i usually just go full ap against sylas and throw in an abyssal mask, makes the matchup "playable"
It's lane agnostic so if it's a sylas mid he just beats you unless you swap lanes
What I’m getting is sylas is the counter pick in like 90% of scenarios
If the opposing champ has a lot of power economy in their ult then sylas is a decent counter because none of his power is in his ult because it changes every game
i was thinking something toplane like vayne into darius but this also makes sense, sylas is the storngest or the weakest champ based on enemy ults

In lane yes but out of laning she thrives more in team fights so she wouldnt wanna waste her time 1v1ing you in a side lane. Your team won't lose instantly since you create side lane pressure since they always have to stop you. But sylas vs malphite is just the sylas team having a better and stronger malphite ult for team fights.

Lol all these comments about other champs and their ults. Its not a topic about 'the best ult to steal" its about the other stuff. In top lane malph vs sylas is completely unplayable to the 10th degree. Even if you pick sylas mid vs enemy top malph, he cannot survive or catch waves in the sidelanes when you match him. Malph cannot get away from sylas if he doesnt have a turret closeby.
From the way august says "lane agnostic, if your tean has a sylas and they have a malphite you win" makes it sound like they don't have to lane against each other at all. That's probably why

If Nasus goes Trinity+Ionian+ a bit more CDR he can even perma W her but its non even necessary.

IMO that matchup can be nullified outside of lane if malphite just avoids walking near sylas. Just standing even behind backline and playing to counter engage will destroy a sylas. Obv wont work everytime but most people play this game so brain off that they dont think about this somewhat obvious adaptation

That is actually wrong it only works if sylas and malphite both play mid. Arround 66% for sylas. However in toplane it is only 56% for sylas, which is normal a regular counter pick.
Im curios on where his stats come from, because sylas is not even in the top 3 worst matchups for malphite, never was. Its a bad matchup but not "the sharpest counterpick"
Sylas has like a 35% winrate against poppy, which is way worse than the sylas malphite matchup aswell

What abaut Vlad vs Malhite?
Vlad counters everything malhite can do.
1. He counters his poke with Q heal.
2. He has AOE on his E to push.
3. His W counters whole malhite ult from pretty much lvl 3.
4. His Q outheals malhite Q poke and he is ranged so he can just poke malhite and perma stay at full health.
I think that is litteraly the worst lane to play in as malhite. You can't poke, you can't counter push, your ult is useless if enemy has at leadt decent reaction time.
And just to add this. Malhite usualy poke you down and then Ults and all in (same for tank or AP Malhite). But with Vlad you can poke him down. He will outheal all your poke and as game progresses His Q will outheal your Q so you can't even trade.
With Sylas I can see that happening. You can if you play safe enough poke him down and sylas can't really dodge your ult that easily. Vlad can

Why would they nerf them? Their skill ceiling is so low that it makes it easy to outplay them. Stop complaining and get better at the game.
Also check garens win rate high elo lmao it’s all below 50 percent there is no reason for riot to nerf them
they arent way stronger. WR isnt very reliable on hard champs since most people that make up that statistic cant play them optimally while with garen you can learn the champ for the first time and play him optimally within the same game.

i think counterpicking is the worst for toplane they shouls buff up some bruiser build components for more sustain or make more champs like mundo and aatrox
that’s not why top is unforgiving, and your “fix” is pretty stupid.. it’s the nature of the lane, it’s the only solo sidelane. Bot is similar but having 2 players makes it a bit less snowbally, since even if they are 5/0 mid or top would still clap them. Top on the other hand is a solo lane, and 1 kill makes it unplayable for the enemy laner, and wave management can force them to get killed or miss a lot of cs. Tower plates also not split, so basically you can’t do anything about it. That’s how the role works

And you can play Yone top and get counter picked by Rammus. Doesn't matter if you 'win' early. Once he gets thornmail and its a 1v1. It becomes a stat check that isn't possible for you to win. As your mean only means of dmg is the exact reason you lose.
Thing is tho, a lane mu is just that. Even if you wanna pick Malz into Kat. Or Teemo into Vayne or Cam. Or Rammus into Yi. Or Fiora into Sion. Or Vayne into Darius. Its purely just affects your champs interactions.
While Sylas vs Malphite isn't just affecting the Malphite. He's effectively counter picking his entire comp. Since its not just independent of their interaction. But how Sylas gets to interact with everyone else in a way that favors him.
Its like picking rammus into full ad comp except in Sylas case, it just needs one Malphite. Not impossible to lose but its extremely hard to win
