I’ve heard of the feeling of euphoria before with this kind of venom. That feeling of being high was genuine.
I've heard Death Adder venom is the ultimate high. It's been described as a psychedelic w/opioid feeling in some, but not all. It's probably dose dependent. That is often the difference between a drug and a poison.
@sharonrigs7999 death adders are neurotoxic though? Never heard of any elapid or any neurotoxic snake being referred to as a high but lol
Temple Vipers were a dream snake for a buddy of mine who used to keep hots back in the 80s. He had a HUGE adult female Water Moccasin that was puppy dog tame. I free handled her once and I was shocked at how calm she was. I would never do that again but it was an amazing experience.
I never feel bad for people that free hand hold vipers and then get bit... that is your own fault fully
Cool
I don't think he was asking anyone to feel bad. Keep comments to yourself if you wanna be rude keyboard warrior..
@@edwardmcintyre3708 Or just follow your own advice.
He's not looking for pity explaining his experience toxicity of venom
LMAO Trop venom doesn’t even do anything, stfu
Such gorgeous creatures
Thank you ❤️
One thing I learned about snakes its definitely beneficial to start with something less rare and less expensive maybe a copper head or something along the lines anything above that you will pay so much just to have to put it in the ground weeks to months later these animals come from tropical areas that sometimes cant be replicated properly
Yeah sure I agree, these snakes are not very forgiving when it comes to errors
They make tools for handling venomous snakes. Free handling hots may look cool to the viewers but whenever you get tagged it makes the rest of the community look bad.
Have u even watched the video? Nothing really happened when I got tagged. How does this make anyone look bad?
It‘s not looking cool….looks stupid….😂
Many people say otherwise, besides you didn’t answer my question 🙂
@@liamzdc What you do reflects on every other person keeping venomous reptiles as a hobby. If you were killed by a venomous snake tomorrow and a lawmaker got wind of it they could potentially tighten restrictions on everyone else. I’m not targeting you, that goes for everyone in the hobby, and trying to get into the hobby.
I’m in a different country half a globe away. How would my actions affect your countrie’s legislation?
Pretty cool that you can get tagged by a viper like that without any serious symptoms. Like you said allergic reactions aside etc.. I’d be careful still though, could’ve been a dry bite or just a tiny amount of venom etc.. I’m not an expert by any means but I’d be really careful if you get any different types of vipers/elpaids and free handling them, most of the venomous snakes will really ruin your day or end it in bad cases.
I wouldn’t want to get bit by any other species, and I’m way more careful then. With trops it’s kind of a joke, I have friends that received around 15 bites and they’re alright
Wagler's are probably the least dangerous viper next to a copperhead
Copperhead is no joke, Vipera Berus is probably the next weakest after wagleri (lowest venom yield)
@@robbbrown7316copperhead venom can take your limb bro. You wont die but its a ten out of ten on the pain scale and has other nasty effects.
Great description dude and thanks for sharing! And as always amazing shots of your beautiful snakes! And huge props for taking such good care of your girl!
Sounds like it was a little trippy.
Always interesting Liam, very informative. Maybe it's my own set up, but I found the sound very quiet on this video for some reason. Even at maximum settings, it was difficult to hear.
Be careful the second bite might play out a lot different.God bless and keep u safe.
Thanks already got bit a second time, all good
@ronal.. don't advise people who are hell nbent on being foolish
They have the most beautiful eyes
Beautiful vipers❤❤❤
Thanks ❤️
Лиам, привет👋спасибо за это видео. С интересом посмотрела и послушала. У тебя классно получается рассказывать про своих питомцев👍
I have a Borneo female temple viper and I wanted to know some tricks on how to get her to eat. She is established at about 14 inches long, but doesn't show much interest in hopper mice.
Feed at night, try different prey items, pay attention if she assumes the “hunting” pose
@@liamzdc I got her to eat last night with a pinky rat (no hair). Thank you so much. She is an amazing snake.
I don’t think it’s very smart to handle venomous snakes by hand. What is a good reason to free handle these snakes. I guess it’s thrilling to take the risk.
Not really, I handle them so they get used to me and as we both lose fear of each other they live a more comfortable life. Keep in mind that fear breeds more fear, if you keep a snake and are afraid of her, she will also experience fear around you. Some snakes can live their whole life like this, temple vipers usually die. So that’s my reason
Why are there so many people in these comments trying to tell him how to handle these snakes like he doesn't know his shit.
Remember everything you know he probably knows too. You guys aren't teachers. Let the man do what he wants.
Amazing story. Such beautiful vipers!! I look forward to more content.
I want to make sure that I heard you correctly, you did say the bite patients were given Paracetamol which I believe is the same as Tylenol correct? P.S. I want a female Wagleri, they are so beautiful
Stronger than tylenol, but yeah it's similar....
Yes it’s the exact same thing as Tylenol/acetaminophen here in the US. The strength depends on the dosage, but you have to be very careful with how much of it you consume as it is very toxic itself.
I love videos where the comments are people telling him people not to handle or they are dangerous yadda yadda.
People ride motorcycles, go rock climbing, do drugs, eat unhealthy… every thing can or will kill you. Live your own life… the number of deaths from free handling snakes is relatively low
After you read a bunch you realise they are always saying the same thing, like a broken record and you stop giving attention
@@liamzdc Jeff lebowitz or swaggerthecat just got bit by an inland taipan
@Smokeysmoke42o I'm aware, most of the species he kept I wouldn't even remotely consider keeping 🤷♂. What's strange is how viciously he went against other keepers that had some popularity and with this he dug his own grave. I wasn't aware of how nasty he was until after the bite.
@@liamzdc pretty wild, nothing but Tupperware. Which explains why we never saw the enclosures. Now 14 plus snakes are dead 😢
Yeah man, to me if I want to asses you I’d check your practices and how you keep them, anything non naturalistic gets 👎 from me
So possible that Temple Viper Venom may be a pharmaceutical source for what? A novel serotonin reuptake inhibitor?
I hear they use waglerin for skin products
So, i grew up with a red-tail boa constrictor. We raised it for many years, feeding it live mice/rats. One mouse ran over its head and injuring one of its eyes. You had to be careful which direction you approached it from or it would strike. Even that bite would hurt. I handled that snake very often along with other grass snakes etc. Never in my wildest imagination would i have ever handled a venomous snake. I knew a man that was on a boyscout retreat with his kids. He came upon a snake and wanted to show it to the kids. Without a second thought bent over grabbed the snake and of course, it bit him!😅 He spent the next week in the hospital trying to save his hand from a Copperhead bite. He still has his hand and all is well, but no way! Not going to be handling any type of venomous snakes. I live in a part of Texas where Rattlesnakes are plentiful, always on alert! You leave me alone, I leave you alone! Pretty much my philosophy!❤❤❤
Sounds good
As Viperkeeper says: The most venomous snake in the world is the one that just bit you.
@@johnschlesinger2009 that's not a very good way of thinking, if the most venomous snake in the world just bit me and it was no sweat, then I should go play with gaboons, saw scaleds and Russels'
@@johnschlesinger2009 😅🫡
Although I like your info of your envenomation, you are not in the same class of that long ago herpetologist who died of a boomslang bite but kept records of his demise . You wouldn’t won’t to go there would you ? Well be more careful with every snake that is packing . The Copperhead of America allegedly has mild venom but a man in Chattanooga Tn a few years ago got bitten by a captive one and died .
Hold up, you free hand venomous snakes and yet you didn’t know what heat pits are? How is that possible?
I knew what they were for of course, I got the experience of them when this happened though. Although you know they can sense heat you wouldn’t think they’d go for your torso
@@liamzdc ah, makes sense
Very useful information. I hope to keep these again one day. I got bit by trimeresurus insularis. A lot more powerful venom! Would not recommend lol ❤
Awesome!!! 🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌
🙌
ahh the chemo snake, basically bite feels like going on chemotherapy.
Not quite
Great video, keep em coming🤟
More to come!
Free handling isn't a crime. We know the risks that go with the business. We don't need nor want sympathy if a bite happens. Hell i was laughing last time i got whacked. It sucked but i was laughing
Haha, yeah well being tagged by anything else other than tropidolaemus sounds like a bad time
@@liamzdc Western diamond back rattlesnake was my first serious bite. Oh yeah it was bad

Good video, I enjoyed that.
As a fellow snake keeper myself you should’ve done all of the research you could before getting these animals. This is not only for the safety of the animal but your safety as well. Research is very important before getting new animals. Temperature and humidity should’ve been something you knew to a Tee before you got the animal. Heat pits are a major part of their anatomy and that should’ve been learned as well. I’m glad u were okay but dude you gotta be more careful.
You think I didn’t ? There isn’t much information out there to begin with that’s why I put a care guide
@@liamzdc I don’t know much about temple vipers but I do know from personal experience that research is super important. Any animal I have ever gotten I have done extensive research on before getting it. I’m glad you did what you could and that you’re okay I didn’t mean to sound like an ass just trying to get that point across so others don’t make the same mistake you know.
There’s literally no info on them, when it comes to subtle things. You can follow the average arboreal guidelines to the letter and they will still die. Also Moksha got sick because I was following some stupid advice from the guy that sold me her (they have to stay wet or they’ll dry up he said), anyways lesson learned, we survived through this and got closer to each other so all is well in the end
@@liamzdc good I’m glad she’s okay I’ve had bad information from people I got animals from aswell so I get it. Thats really fucked up tbh it really irritates me when people who sell animals don’t know about the animals they’re selling they shouldn’t be selling them if they don’t know what they’re doing.
That's right.... Get bit by a venomous snake and the absolute last thing to do is go straight to the hospital.... 🤦
🤷🏼♂️
Great video thank you for sharing
I use Timple pit viper to cure breast cancer of my wife

I keep hots and my philosophy is that if you get bitten simply STFU about it. People who talk about their bites only hurt the hobby and give ammunition to lawmakers who already think we are weird 🤡.
Well in that case hognoses should have been made illegal in many countries years ago, because their bites are worse than temple vipers. Judging by your comment I don’t think you watched the whole video before writing
😮😮😮 we want the actual footage of biting 😂
Haha I wasn’t filming, I could take a bite on purpose, but I wouldn’t do it because it stresses them out
@@liamzdc can you put paint on your finger to make it look like a small prey? :D
😊 очень интересно и познавательно! 🙏
Good thing it wasn't a Gaboon Viper huh
I’d never buy a gaboon
@@liamzdc I don't blame you they are beautiful but when I see people free handle Gaboon's it freaks me out..
@@user-gs4ux2nj8p I believe if you raise a gaboon and understand all the movements and are able to read their mood, it wouldn't be so much of an issue
@@liamzdc no but if you did catch a surprise bite that you weren't expecting just like you did with the temple viper you'd be in a hell of a lot more trouble and a hit to the chest from a Gaboon would be a death sentence, not a good buzz.
Yeah but Moksha was already an adult when I got her and I lacked experience with them.
Dude handle a mamba or cobra and still try to look cool free handle it. One of those vipers is nothing.
Why would I want to do that?
Thankyou for your information and hope we all learn from this! Horrible to free handle a venomous anything!
Is it?
@@liamzdcNothing wrong with freehandling if you have the right training/experience and tools. Like me with motorcycling.
