In my sleep I will always be walking the streets of West Belfast or Derry only to wake in a cold sweat and shaking a shadow of the man I once was.
Not just from Ireland. My father's family were torn apart during the troubles. My side are in London now but the Irish side were Irish Catholic. It became too difficult for my grandparents to keep their family together. She was lumped in with the Protestants because she's English (her grandparents were Irish) and so was my father. The lead singer’s name was Dolores O’Riordan. The cranberries were an Irish Rock group from Limerick. This song was released in 1994. Dolores wrote this song as an homage to Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry who were killed in 1993 Warrington Bombings and in protest to the violence. This song also remarks about generational prejudices that started in 1916 and finally ended in 1998. This song and music video are emotionally very heavy. This song covers heavy situations, impactful lyrics, and fear provoking imagery. RIP Dolores O’Riorden.
The Cranberries is one of the greatest bands ever. And it was because a group of Irish teenaged lads joined up with a teenage Irish musical genius. Meant to be. Every song is written by Dolores and the guitarist Noel contributed about half of the music. More Cranberries. I never get sick of people finding this band. And Dolores did two solo albums too that are just as good as the ones she did with the Cranberries. RIP Dolores O'Riordan.
There were a lot of bombs going off in London and I remember this one time a child was killed when a bomb was put in a rubbish bin - that's why there's that line in the song, 'A child is slowly taken. [ ... ] We were on a tour bus and I was near the location where it happened, so it really struck me hard - I was quite young, but I remember being devastated about the innocent children being pulled into that kind of thing. So I suppose that's why I was saying, 'It's not me' - that even though I'm Irish it wasn't me, I didn't do it. Because being Irish, it was quite hard, especially in the UK when there was so much tension-Dolores O'Riordan

I knew that the boys screaming would cut you. It's such a powerful song and video about The Troubles, and Dolores' singing is so raw and emotional. I can't help but think back to that time, and the constant news about bombings, shootings, and misery in Ireland/Northern Ireland. Thank you for sharing this reaction with us. I wish you love and peace.
This is about an incident that took place in Norhern Ireland in 1993, in which two boys, 3 and 12 years old, were killed by a terrorist bomb by the IRA , who were fighting against the occupation of the country by England. The boys were on the way to a store to buy Mother's Day cards for their moms. Dolores O'Riordan, the singer, who was Irish, wrote this song the day after it happened She calls the soldiers "zombies", because they kill blindly, without thinking, like a zombie . This song can refer to any place where children die, because of the stupid actions of so called adults. Dolores died in 2018, in an accidental death, in London.

There is something about the sing style of "keening"that brings tears to your eyes every time. Keening is a way of morning the dead in ireland... this song is a funeral song for those poor children kill by an IRA bomb.
The footage was actual footage taken from the video director. All that was still going on during the time of this song. The song brought awareness to the situation.
The Warrington bombings were two separate bomb attacks that took place during early 1993 in Warrington, Cheshire, England. The first attack happened on 26 February, when a bomb exploded at a gas storage facility. This first explosion caused extensive damage, but no injuries. While fleeing the scene, the bombers shot and injured a police officer and two of the bombers were caught following a high-speed car chase. The second attack happened on 20 March, when two smaller bombs exploded in litter bins outside shops and businesses on Bridge Street. Two children were killed and a total of 56 people were injured. The attacks were carried out by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA)
True, I am an Irish American. I've had an English expatriate. We were friends, but I despise him. He's cool, but he can never lay down the sword for the Irish people. So, I will take up the fight against the English. It's simple and stupid. But it has been going on for 650 years.
Golden lads and girls all must, As chimney-sweepers, come to dust. ~ Shakespeare, Cymbeline Not what Shakespeare meant, but even the young die in civil wars.
The endless tragic cycle of young boys taken and young boys who grow up and learn to take....humanity never learns, never grows. We are capable of such beauty and in the next breath such devastation. It’s the human race that’s the pandemic....
An interesting tid bit of info, and I apologise if this was already mentioned somewhere and I just didn't look hard enough, but the singer was using "Keening", a form of "vocal lament for the dead in the Gaelic Celtic tradition, known to have taken place in Ireland and Scotland." (referenced from Google search) during this song. Which, when you take that into account, makes this song hit much harder.
Zombie was a visceral response to the death of two children in an IRA bombing in the Cheshire town of Warrington. Lead singer Dolores O' Roiodan was a great singer unfortunately she died at 46 from accidentally drowning in her bathtub in 2018. They said she had high levels of alcohol in her system. Linger is another great song.
I don't wanna put politics on this, but when i saw trumps stormtroopers in lafayette square beating people this music came right away to my head. Cheers from Portugal.
The problems lasted decades and we're still current when she wrote it but are now resolved. He was due to collaborate with Bad Wolves with recording due to start the day she was found dead. Its why she was in London the Wolves went ahead and recorded it as a tribute giving the Royalties to her 3 children. The silver painted cherubs depicted kids killed. It was written after a bomb killed 2 young boys. Problems related to decades old British occupation. She was also saying because she was Irish she didn't agree with the fighting and was asking for a peaceful resolution. Peace came eventually.
I think a lot of people and many Americans have no idea about the extreme violence and conflict in Ireland for decades and decades between the Catholics and protestants my family came from Ireland back in the 70s as we are Catholic Irish but didn’t agree with the conflicts. We grew up extremely poor with constant bombings not a lot of privilege here

Beautiful reaction 😎
Makes it all the more sadder that the troubles are starting to flair up again in northern ireland
Oh my . Sending you love and light
Rest in Paradise gal.The Cranberries were a big deal when i was in Jr.High and High School. Many Artist like this back then had messages in their music and told a story. This was a favorite , so glad i grew up at a time when the variety of music was cool to listen to. It was a lot of awesome bands then Like Blink 182, Aerosmith etc. The Cranberries have many awesome songs and I loved them. So glad you got the song and liked it.
Oh my
Love your ability to read this video and your whole opinion on it 🙌 well done
Awwwww thank you so much
First of all, your braids 😍
PjSaid's Lifestyle Channel Awww Thank you ❤️❤️
I love seeing people listen to Cranberries. I cant believe no one has said for you to check out Bad Wolves Zombie....it is a cover of this song and is AMAZING.....Dolores was supposed to be on it and died the night before recording
Oh my God 😱. A night before ? I’m definitely going to check it out
Very raw reaction..& a very intelligent & heartfelt reaction as well.. great job & very cute 👍
Im sorry i meant the lead singer of the cranberries ,zombie was the name of the song
Okay no problem
I knew that the boys screaming would cut you. It's such a powerful song and video about The Troubles, and Dolores' singing is so raw and emotional. I can't help but think back to that time, and the constant news about bombings, shootings, and misery in Ireland/Northern Ireland. Thank you for sharing this reaction with us. I wish you love and peace.
Even the guitar weeps
Hmmmmm
It's a sad song about here in northern ireland, ,back in are trouble past if u read the walls behind her it mentions IRA an UFF,,UDA
Oh yes ..
Dolores O'Riordan, the singer, who was Irish, wrote this song the day after it happened
She calls the soldiers "zombies", because they kill blindly, without thinking, like a zombie . This song can refer to any place where children die, because of the stupid actions of so called adults. Dolores died in 2018, in an accidental death, in London.
Omg !!! This is similar to what is really going on in my country Nigeria right now. Soldiers are shooting peaceful protesters .
@@PemisCorner Tradgedy, war, and violence knows no borders or creed. As long as the hearts of men remain bitter and cold, so will the world we live in.
i cry every fuckn time ... and the bombs already coming again this year they discovered 1 or 2 bombs before they went off because brexit and hard border its all coming back :/
Oh my . Why this year again?
This song was about ira Warrington bombing that a 3 year old and 12 years kids lost their lives
Omg 😳
Scary to live in English cities back. I can remember the feeling of the IRA being dangerous and leaving bombs to kill English civilians.
As much as I love seeing reactions to this song, I wish people would react to some of her others. The woman dueted with Pavarotti! Her range is insane and I hate seeing people only know her from 3 songs
Do you know the title of the duet? Kindly drop it let me check it out
@@PemisCorner it's Ave Maria. Search Pavarotti O'Riordan Ave Maria
I'm getting everything wrong. The cover song is by bad wolves not disturbed, this is what happens when you get old

The song was writing for 2 innocents who where killed in 97 from a IRA bomb.
Oh my
Awesome reaction, I remember this song and the band. Rip Dolores! Oh and do pls take care if yourself 🥰
PjSaid's Lifestyle Channel Thank you momma🙏❤️
I enjoyed your reaction. The Cranberries have many moving songs. This one, I would think, could be covered by a Nigerian as a way to address Boko Haram’s/others killings of innocent lives in the north.
Awwww thank you so much. Exactly that was how I related it oo. Are you a Nigerian?
The band bad wolves covers this song as a tribute to deloris from the cranberries. She was supposed to sing with them but she died that same day. U should check it out it's a really beautiful tribute to deloris.
Omg 😮
Sorry 4 u people who know u is Dolores only in 2020 !
your positivity put a big smile on my face. i really like your energy.
Sin duda una de las mejores canciones . Saludos desde Colombia
i see where metallica get the idea for until it sleeps video
React to disturbed sound of silence
It's a cover of Simon and Garfunkel
And disturbed is usually a metal band but they took a different approach to this cover and its amazing tou could react to the original frist but my favorite is the cover
megan mills okay . I will do that . Thank you
There is something about the sing style of "keening"that brings tears to your eyes every time. Keening is a way of morning the dead in ireland... this song is a funeral song for those poor children kill by an IRA bomb.
You should follow this up with the cover by bad wolves
Really? Thank you so much I’m definitely going to check it out
You are just plain charming!..
Now that you`ve reacted to this song , you should react to the cover done by Bad Wolves .
RIP OUR BEAUTIFUL DOLORES!! The Queen of Limerick!!! Up the RA!! ☘️🇮🇪💪🏻
My first time here….I just love your energy so much!!! I hit that like button about 7 seconds in!
Awwww.. thank you so much 😊
The footage was actual footage taken from the video director. All that was still going on during the time of this song. The song brought awareness to the situation.
Me encanto tu reacción. La senti genuina, ha pesar de ser una canción antigua. Te felicito por saber apreciar y rescatar esas canciones.
Rest well Delores, and all the victims of the war.
React to Dolores O’Riordan - Black Widow
Violence causes silence. Did y’all miss that? It almost got past me
Such a deep phrase
Hello friend react to Javier Limón y Buika pogr Buenafuente, greeting from Spain🇪🇸🇪🇸 🙏🙏
Juan Antonio Reyes Gámez Sure I will Thank you
Thank you for your great review!! The band speaks for oppressed people all over.
Makes cry every time! 🏴❤️
But it has been going on for 650 years.
we'll wipe that smile OFF your face in a couple of minutes ................. betcha
Golden lads and girls all must,
As chimney-sweepers, come to dust.
~ Shakespeare, Cymbeline
Not what Shakespeare meant, but even the young die in civil wars.
It's not your family.... But it's happening again, now, look it up
I don't wanna put politics on this, but when i saw trumps stormtroopers in lafayette square beating people this music came right away to my head.
We grew up extremely poor with constant bombings not a lot of privilege here
Gracias, Dolores. Para siempre, allí donde un mortal puede usar esa palabra.
I forgot how beautiful Dolores was. My God.
What a fabolus person she was and only 22 when she wrote this song. Just got to hate todays celebrity culture..... we can do so much better , even in a very young age
I liked your reaction, you knew what she was conveying
Kudos for filming....P C...... awesome learning tool stay safe and smart shout out from Santa Paula CA
Awww thank you 🙏
